So after spending the last few years racing a KTM, the cost of living crisis started to bite & i sadly decided to sell the bike & take a break for the winter (at least).
While board at home I’ve been keeping an eye on the used bike market, it seems the lowest value used 4 strokes are kxf by quite a long way. Even RMZ seem to hold value more.
Why is this, I’ve never owned a kxf, are they poorly made or a pain to wrench on etc ?
Kawasaki usually has killer rebates from the dealer on left over models, so it hurts resale value. All the bikes are great nowadays. Pick your favorite color and go 👍🏻
They’re amazing. Especially the 450 SR.
Good rebates through Kawasaki and not a lot of people are buying right now due to the interest rates. And with the incoming 24 they are clearing inventory. My 23 is the best bike I've ever ridden. Best moto chassis on the market right now. And it's KX. No more F.
If you want great value for your dollar, buy a KX

Where are these dealers selling cheap? Cycle trader doesn't show much. One dealer I checked had a 23 for 6k, but the OTD was 8200 or so with there BS fees.
Rebates, when you can get a 23 for 7k why buy my 21 I’m trying to sell for 5k lol.
Grab one before they are gone. The bikes have the best chassis comfort around! The small issues that i would correct on a new one costs a couple hundred dollars. My beginner buddy has 60 hours on his KX250 and we haven't spent a dime on the bike.
Have been hunting too. Gotten offered deals like 6888otd tax included for a 23 kx. 9750otd for a new sr.
Used market ive found a lightly used 10 hour 23 sr for 8. However, im leaning toward a 10 hour 19 rmz for 4.. can snag higher hour rmzs for as little as 3... People with regular kxs are still listing them around 6.. id rather spend 800 more on Brand new..
I figured if i buy a kx, ill do a pipe, suspension, maybe ecu, and levers. If i buy an rmz ill do a high comp piston, pipe, hangers, link and suspension, ecu, bars.. im torn.
I am hoping to find a holiday season desperation sale...New or Vet garage queen deal
What shop/dealer is that? I'm thinking of getting the '24 kx250 if it has the app.
Call Steven at Thrill Point in Ohio. Hes your kx250 guy. They only have an SR st the moment as far as what I'm looking for. The prices above came from some top PA dealers.
Best bang for the buck in moto right now, IMO. I think I’ll snag another ‘23 before they’re gone!
The last 2 bikes I bought were KX250F's. Bought a '2009 KX250F in summer of 2010 and got it priced about $4800, when the new ones were $6500. Then sold that years later and bought a '13 KX250F in summer 2014 for $5200 when the new ones were $7300. If you can wait until the newest models show up in whatever year you buy then find a previous year still in the crate, you'll save a ton of money.
Lot of new and used inventory out there as covid dollars dry up.
All new leftover bikes are getting rebates, my 2023 ktm450 cost less in 2023 than my 2017 husky 450 did in 2017.
I agree, grab one while you can. Great bike, great price. Under $7000. from Blackhills powersports S.D.
I can't comment on modern bikes, but back in the 80, 90 and 00.s
Hours for hours, kx,s were "flogged out" more than the other big 3.
So they were always cheaper.
Do you have to call or actually go there in person to get this number? I was just on their site and didn't see anything like that.
Definitely curious where these killer deals are that many are seeing, nothing like that in CO. One dealer wants 9k for a 24 YZ125 FFS...
Call, Re: kx sale price.
Pit Row
No clue on OTD price but dealer in Marion IL has a 23 450 for $5400 and they posted a 23 250 for $4k the other day, thought that listing seems to be gone already. Thought it was an unbelievable price and apparently someone else thought so too so they grabbed it!
I cant find anywhere willing to deal on yamahas or Honda's.
Whatever you do, don't go to Langston Motorsports to get one.
Nice crib! Do you want to adopt a 45 year old?
Bad experience buying there or just high?
The rebates Kawi is offering has crushed the values on used ones. I have a 21' I'm trying to sell and can't even get a sniff.
I've had the 2015, 2016, and 2018 KXF 250, and they were all great.
I have a 22 RMZ250 with 15 hours, has Race Tech suspension, Mika bars, Rekluse Torque Drive clutch, Moto Seat cover and more. $5000, title in hand. I have other goodies for a bit more.
Haha heck yeah, come on out! More the merrier 🍻
Kawasaki’s always have great rebates. I have not had any issues with them. My only complaint are the plastics and chain guards.
Ridersville in Berkley springs WV sells Hondas at msrp
I bought a '22 KX250 last year. Hands down, the best handling mx bike I've ever ridden and owned. I couldn't believe how much my cornering improved simply because of Kawasaki nailing the geometry and balance.
