Dang have to have working carbon monoxide detectors. People have to take this seriously. We got woken up at mx191 with ours going off one night. They save lives.

Apparently the kids were up late...being loud so dad crawled into the van to sleep. He found them.
My bud and his two boys were there to race. His youngest has diced with one of the boys since they started. Sad, sad deal.

The comments on that article are so disturbing and shows the lack of empathy people have these days. Covid pandemic really took the human out of people.

Callous and cruel people have been amongst us since the beginning. The difference now is that social media gives them a platform and they feel safe spewing their bile from behind the keyboard.

It seems many people can't just move along without being complete douchebags; total lack of empathy for this poor guy and his family. I still think there are tons of good people out there, but they tend to refrain from constantly commenting on anti-social media. Doers, not talkers if you know what I mean.

Yeah, some complete fucking assholes there. Aside from the CO cause, didn't Jeannie Carmichael take Ricky to a lot of races alone because big Rick stayed home to keep working?
I (as well as my dad, and a few of our friends) got carbon monoxide poisoning while sleeping in a friend’s travel trailer at a race about 20 years ago. We were parked next to another camper, and apparently their generator exhaust was leaking in behind our refrigerator. It’s truly terrifying. Two of our crew were transported to the hospital, ambulance put the rest of us on oxygen until we started feeling improvement. Anyone reading this: Please, PLEASE make sure you always have a working carbon monoxide detector in any type of camper you stay the night in. Make sure your friends have them as well. Might sound a little overly dramatic to some, but a lot of people don’t think about this until it’s too late.
Jason still has one son to live for and We are trying to get him to understand that we're here for him. I've been helping Jason since he was on 85's and he is like family and yes some peoples comments are ridiculous. My wife wife is at war on Facebook with some of the idiots.
Oh man… Absolutely heart breaking.

Great advice. My little camper has smoke, CO2, and LP detectors but I always leave a window cracked for extra insurance.
But...this life hands out some bad shit no matter what you do. The very definition of "tragic".

Gif...is this a situation where a memorial/benefit race/ceremony (after the emotions have settled as much as they can) for Jeeps to ramrod? I know how much weight you carry already but maybe bring it up?
I remember this happened at Gatorback to a father and a son. RIP and prayers to the dad.
It happens far too often. I can recall a few tragic incidents out in the SoCal desert during desert races. Those small propane heaters are extremely dangerous in a small, enclosed camper.
I can only imagine how the Dad might be feeling, so sad. I don't know what I would do in that case. I hope the Dad has some good friends and other family that can be there for him.
My sister had a friend who died in a fire along with her parents, the older daughter was not home at the time and she survived . She was not doing so well last I heard.
I've had some CO experiences and it can take you very fast!! A working detector has saved me and my family and friends more than 1 time. I have detectors that display the CO levels now. They go off sooner and show me when its safe to return inside. I have one I can clip onto my pocket or belt . Great for when I'm working out in the Shop , running an engine or gas heater.
Man, that's so incredibly sad. As a husband and father to 3, I can't even begin to imagine. I hope the dad can hold it together for his 3 year old, not sure I could

There are a # of things happening for him Plow. I'm not on Facebook but you might keep an eye open on Jeeps and Bar 2 Bar for what's going on. Private auction I know is in the works. I'll let you know sir

I figured there would be something in the works. I don't have FB either. You are my connection.

They are having a bake sale at the Vet race at Bar 2 Bar this weekend and there will be more to come. Might call Dan's during the week and ask Bob. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and will have sporadic internet for 10 days.
Very tragic I couldn't even imagine. You can buy some battery powered detectors that you can move around to different areas which is great for camping. This sounds more like it was some kind of issue on the RV itself but people really need to be careful with their generators as well. Especially at tightly packed offroad races people just plop out their generators with no regards to their neighbors, this has accounted for some deaths as well. Prayers to the family...

We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MX industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MX t-shirt.

Not sure how a person would continue on with life after losing their whole family…awful. Just awful..
Prayers go out to the dad, just a terrible situation all around.

The father found them? I wouldn't know how to handle that situation.
Yeah that's gotta be a bad place for dad now. What an abrupt change to life and not for the better.

Horrible story, sad and tragic. Just gut wrenching!

jesus, just read the comments and everything has to be a damn conspiracy these days.
This is tragic, people don't need to make it more painful with their wild-ass theories.

What's even more sad is he has 1 remaining boy that is 3. He has to live for him. He can't end his suffering.
