74 yr old on a 450

That's awesome!

We had a 75-76 year old that rode with us and was a very good rider.

There’s a guy that shows up at Ultimate MX in Alvin, Tx.  Last year he was 69 last time I spoke with him.  So he is 70 now.  He is in dang good shape and he rips a KTM.  I bet he ride for years to come.

Keep trucking away, Lorettas isn't an impossible goal.  You can do it, keep fighting!  BTW, are you a Claremore Lifer by chance?  As in where you attended high school?

Much admiration as I hobble back to Notre Dame.

Last weekend at the Vet race at Aztalan Mx there were 5 guys in the +70 class and 16 in the +65 class! 

Last summer out here in AZ this nice older lovely lady pulled into the track mid morning and parked next to us, me thinking she was there bringing her grandson or grand daughter's bike to the track for them to ride.  She gets out and proceeds to ask me and my riding buddy to help her unload her RM250 2 stroke.  Of course we helped.  She threw on her gear, hopped out on the vet track and ripped laps for a solid hour or so on and off.  She was in her late 60's, very close to 70.  We helped her load up her bike, let her hang with us in our crew, and had a great time.  

You don't quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.

I have every intention of riding into my 80s.  I hope to have a good 30 more years in the tank, Lord willing.  Its the main reason why I work out and exercise as much as I do.  You let your body go and its vastly harder to ride.

i’m 50, ripped my 2006 KX 250 at LACR this morning. First time in a long time i had a decent digger … like a really long time! here i am back in Vegas at the ER waiting on X-rays  because my left wrist is tore up good… hopefully no surgery and i can get back out as soon as possible. I will ride until i physically can’t any more … hopefully i make it to my 70s!

A friend of mine is almost 70 and is crazy fast. You’ll find him at Glen Helen racing SRA. Dude is a sicko and definitely an inspiration. 

Just raced Diamond Don's AHRMA national last week. Over 60 Intermediate had to be split as there were so many riders. I raced with some 0ver 70 guys on a Premier (Just think Super Old!) bike. Most of them dropped me like a rock!

I turned 58 in August and have ZERO intent to stop riding as long as I am physically able! I gently broke in my brand new YZ450 at Sweet 16 in Okmulgee last night and I’m headed out to Moto City in blanchard for practice tomorrow! 
I ride moto weekly, my road & MTB pedal bikes 3-5 times a week and hit the bike park at Angel Fire NM every chance I get!

Last summer at Angel Fire two young guys were talking in the lift line about being unsure how to get to a particular expert run…while still wearing my helmet/goggles, I told em I could show em the run and the line if they wanted to follow me down? We made the pass and got to the bottom and they pulled up at the lift house to thank me & give a fist bump on the run 👊 …when I took my helmet off he did a double take and stuttered, uuuh you’re ol… I laughed and said you can say it I’m OLD! Then he wanted to know how old I actually was (57!) and said “I’m gonna give my Dad a load of shit, he is only 46 and says he is too old for this stuff now!”

Age is ONLY a number! I’m already looking forward to picking up my 2043 YZ450 too!             😎 👍❗️

Same man I was parked on the other side of him and was sitting there with him all day.  Cool guy still gets along plenty good.  Made a new friend today.

My dad rides ultimate mx and he's 70

Texas Vintage Racing Club (TVRC) has a +70 class. At Diamond Don's AHRMA National last week, the +70 classes were around 10-15 riders. And they are pretty quick. Loyd Morgan I believe is 80+ plus and is still spinning laps.

I ride regularly with a guy that is 72. He does not struggle at all getting around the track.

That’s my aim, have 16 years to go, on a 450sxf at the moment, MX and Flat Track.

Yeah racing into your 70s is pretty amazing--tip of the visor to anybody that does that.

 I was racing in the Master class with the AZOT club well into my mid 50's. I'm 65 now.

At the International race at ACP racing balls out against Ex-pros (I was never a Pro) it hit me like a ton of bricks, especially after my good friend had crashed and was taken away in the meat wagon earlier.

I parked my 06 CRF450 after the event and hadn't ridden it much since but I have always had a good off-road bike and do a lot of that.

Purchased a Levo bike about 8 months ago and really have started to enjoy that as well.

 Still have the CRF so I haven't totally cut the cord, maybe I'll wait for the 70 class  this was taken at the ripe ol age of 55. 

 So I haven't really stopped riding,  just haven't done any Motocross for quite some time.....

65 here in this pic and it's encouraging seeing these kind of posts...makes me feel that I may have another 10 years left of riding.  Admit though, I'm in a mode of keeping it on two wheels these days since I don't want a bad get off gouging into the time I have left.   

Side note...this pic was taken last week by Doreen Payne at a track called Twisted MX which is in Michigan and just north of the Ohio state line.  Doreen was very fast back in the late 70's / early 80s and was the first woman to qualify for an outdoor motocross national in 1983 and she's also still riding.
