High Ho Silver...AWAY. I like it.
I just had a terrible thought…………ears tucked under cowboy hat!!!!
I ran one years ago, now I run a straw Amish hat in the summer.
Isn't white trash pretty heavy in the whole sport?

My dad was a PRCA card-holding cowboy, a real ranch hand in his youth and a life-long farrier. Dad wanted me to be a bronc riding champion, but I broke his heart when I told him I was done with horses and wanted a dirt bike. Besides, I hated country music and loved KISS.
Anyway, my cowboy roots followed me to moto, and I've always felt that a cowboy hat paired well with moto gear. I've been wearing that look almost as long as Bad Brad.
The ballcap is recent history with you whippersnappers, just like helmets on bull riders. Real cowboys still wore a cowboy hat in the 70's and 80's.
I wonder if Vietnamese rice farmers get mad when Americans buy gardening hats.
Late 70s early 80s, always wore cowboy hat for skiing ⛷️
How else would you do it?…run your cowboy hat high on the top of your head like a Texas snowcone?
I guess, cowboy hats were cool when Cowboys were prevalent and that’s what people did. Now it just makes you look like you’re at a costume party. Although cowboy hats do seem to make more sense to me than wearing a baseball cap backwards. George Carlin had a funny take on that! It doesn’t bother me either way. Ears in or out, hat or no hat…it would be stupid if everybody dressed the same.
Ok, this reminds me of when the Metal Mulisha used to call him Kenny Buttram
A Sheriff in a small town in Texas walks out in the street and sees a blond haired cowboy coming toward him with nothing on but his cowboy hat, his gun and his boots. He arrests him for indecent exposure.
As he is locking him up, he asks 'Why in the world are you walking around like this?'
The cowboy says, 'Well it's like this Sheriff ......
I was in this bar down the road and this pretty little red head asks me to go out to her motor home with her. So I did.
We go inside and she pulls off her top and asks me to pull off my shirt... So I did.
Then she pulls off her skirt and asks me to pull off my pants.... So I did.
Then she pulls off her panties and asks me to pull off my shorts...so I did.
Then she gets on the bed and looks at me kind of sexy and says, 'Now go to town, cowboy.. '
'And here I am.
AP used to dance and listen to rap during his 250 days. Never thought this cowboy Kenny theme was legit.
I understand if people have issues with cheesy party style cowboy hats that people wear to night clubs, but I can't fathom why anyone would have a problem with cowboy hats in their authentic form. I have 4 of them and a couple of them are 20 years old. Cowboy hats are standard for riding horses like helmets are standard to riding moto. The only difference is they last for years and don't need to be updated like moto helmets.
Even if someone wanted to, they couldn't tuck their ears into a cowboy hat because they sit above the ears.
Meh... I don't begrudge anybody that wants to give up suburban life and pursue their heart.
Maybe people just like the look and want to wear one? I worked on a farm/ranch from 13 to 20 and never wore one. I like the thin material lightweight fishing hats with a strap, it's windy in Kansas. The farmer I worked for had several cowboy hats hanging in his house, but I never saw him wear one either. We wore work boots or tennis shoes, I never could stand pull on boots. In the summer I wore shorts, sometimes with flipflops, even while riding my dual sport to check fence. Now I live in a town of 400,000 with a metro of 700,000, never cared I see more cowboy hats then when I lived in a county of 30,000. I always took it as more of a fashion thing anyway. If someone else's fashion sense offends you, you are the problem.
FWIW, my earliest recollection of cowboys and "western" folks adopting ball caps, was with the barrel racers and pole-bending crowd.
The Elvis look was popular in the 90's

I stay in my lane. No cowboy hats for me, man.
100X=Beaver Blend. 200X=100% Pure Beaver. 500X = 100% Pure Belly Hair Beaver. Straw hats get u some looks but the more beaver, u have the the more beaver u get.
I think AP has truly embraced his new persona, and being where he’s from, and where he lives, a vinyl cap is ok, he probably doesn’t know any better.
My town is full of cowboys and roughnecks who claim to be cowboys, not one of them would be seen in the hats AP wears. Most wear worn out ball caps, or straw cowboy hats.
The only guys I see that wear vinyl cowboy hats are the rich oil guys to the bars at night. But hey, AP plays it well, more power to him.
If you work outside and get the tops of your ears burned regularly, you would understand it.
I haven't been paying close attention, but I thought I've seen AP wearing both straw and felt hats. Where is this vinyl hat you have seen him wear?
I'd wear that.
I love these kinds of threads.
Reminds me of the Harley message board I frequented: You were a poseur if you wore certain gear....or you're a dweeb if you don't. You can't win with some people....but guess what, who gives a f**k what others think. Terms like "walletbiker" tossed around. How about "walletcowboy" lol. Being so concerned with what other people wear is pretty sad.
Grew up with horses and such... I never wore a cowboy hat when riding. ...but i do like cowboy hats in general. I have a black felt one I wear from time to time.
The AP thing feels super cringe to me. I love the dude too like hes so damn likeable but the whole cowboy hat, fake accent deal is so bad. It came out of nowhere. Go back to interviews etc of him when he was on 250s or even amateurs. Completely different lol its a schtick he plays up because it obviously appeals to a certain fanbase and they dont give a fuck how fake it is lmao.
Exactly...my white trash nose and ears looked like a piece of burnt bacon after buckin' a couple thousand bales, in that July sun. A ball cap don't do much.
AP wasn't always country like he claims. Watch older videos of him. He was the stereotypical moto guy with the flat bill hat like everyone else. He definitely didn't always wear a cowboy hat. He didn't grow up on a farm tending to cattle and bailing hay and shit.
I meant felt. I read vinyl in thread and for some reason it stuck.
The vast majority of the people wearing their ears tucked in don't work outside.
Yes, I've been on construction crews and I've never seen this. The only time you see this is specifically on people who don't work outside.
Cute idea though.
