This was posted on the VMXdN thread but in fact deserves its own thread.
Its from a Super EVO 125 moto on Saturday at the Foxhill VMXdN and is the GoPro of Rob Holyoake's come-from-behind ride after failing to register a qualifying lap due to a tech glitch and having to start well after the gate had dropped.
MX doesn't get much better than this.
He was SENDING it! Impressive ride... He scared me a few times though! haha
As I wrote elsewhere, I thought it must have been Alessio Chiodi.
Talk about having a 125 pinned, Holyoake really wrung that Huskies neck.
Great stuff!
Watching this I can't help myself to wonder why do we currently have overweight four stroke bike's racing track's that are tilled to deep rutty mess and built over some flat piece of wasteland when racing old school lightweight 125's on a proper hard pack GP track is so much better?
What an awesome track! That one downhill jump he was sending after the sweeper... WOW!!

I used to love the feeling I'd get lining up & taking the drop on a full gate. Now, that view just gives me anxiety. #old
Edit, those hay bales at the 3 minute mark...
Chico was super impressive in his own right, I don't know how many years it's been since I last watched him at Foxhill, but it was great seeing him back there.
Back to Rob though this was a hell of a ride, clearly. The bloke was so committed... awesome job.
That inside corner @ 2:47
That was awesome! I love a 125 madman on a Monday morning.
If you want to bring fans to the sport...this should be the marketing video.
Fox Hills is an awesome track this vid is probably the best race this yr. All the riders r decent & the bikes r trick. Hard pack & hills the 125,s sound so sweet. 98 fox Hills was 1 of the best races ever. chiodi was the dominant rider then Carl Nunn was riding out of his skin to pass Chiodi. Then DV12 comes out of nowhere to the front. Huge crowd with the air horns blowing. Last yrs 89 evo 125 race with Brown & Bradshaw was great too. I think it’s a great track for 125,s.
Dr office called while watching the vid. My wrist has a lot of bone bruising & ligament damage & shoulder sharp pain. From the trk bottoming out violently from smashing a deep pothole on 8-6. I emptied 3 bottles of ibuprofen & Tylenol. I had to get the Illinois state police involved leaving the Chicago 1099 Russian mob co. My plan of hitting some races on the DBP 125 don’t look good.
100% this^^^
I like 4 strokes as well but how we race prep modern tracks sucks.
Oh man, I'd love to go race Foxhill. It looks like a crappy, blown-out wasteland of a track, just the way I like it! It reminds me of practicing at Palm Ave., The Pits, and about a dozen other places from my youth.
Slightly less impressive, Searle GoPro after some rain.
Man....this was way better and more exciting than any pro outdoor race this season. Watched every second of it. Incredible.
I'll say it again...pro racing just isn't the same without the 2-strokes. Nothing better than watching someone who knows how to properly ride a motor rather than relying on the 4-stroke powerband as a crutch.
Had me laughing how he was screaming at the riders in front of him. Used that trick back in the day many times....and it still works.
Track was killer too. Not all rutted out like so much of what we see today.
Thanks for sharing. OP, you were right, mx doesn't get better than this.
THIS is moto.
This video is the dream race we all have in our head, yet watching it is the closest most of us will ever get to it.
Pit Row
Google says he's 26 years old?
talk about attacking the track. he just went for it. everywhere.
Him yelling at everyone was getting me hyper...
Clearly the talent of that group.
That inside corner every lap! Every time he came around I thought he wasn't going to make the turn, but the only time he came out of the rut was when he passed for the lead. Dude was feeling it for sure.
Just wow. Sometimes it just all comes together. Ride of a lifetime. Stewartesque. And other cliches to express my amazement. That pass into the abyss around 5:45. Made me pucker just watching it.
Thanks for posting that ! Damn that makes me want to go race this weekend ! Great video
Dude fully sent it the whole moto!
