Triumph,Wtf are you doing?..

Edited Date/Time 8/30/2023 9:48pm

This is a seemingly a huge marketing fail?

Why so secretive? There's a bike...show us.

The build up is taking a turn southbound

Triumph is an absolute powerhouse of a motorcycle manufacturer...What's going on?

It’s certainly a … different approach. The hype they’ve created would lend us to believe this bike is utterly revolutionary. So far it doesn’t exactly seem that way. It does have people talking, which if that was their goal with this strategy, it must be considered accomplished.

I just wanna see the damn thing, too…

I feel like they are releasing the components too slowly. The frame vid was interesting I guess, but by the time they released the engine video two weeks later..I kinda lost interest. What’s next, wait another two weeks for a gas tank reveal?

In an age of "gimme that now"....I appreciate the way they're doing it.   You get to see what went into the design of the frame/motor before the big reveal.

It's keeping the buzz up longer than..."here it is" so people can move on to the next story.

In the words of the brits...

Can we just called failure? Building hype then showing copy of old tech and silence.

Question: is it possible that Triumph just lends its name to the project and that the bike is made in Asia?

It also doesn’t look like that the development team is based in England. Were there any Englishman in the video? One picture of the factory in England?

Maybe Triumph gives the name and a bit of money, an engineering bureau does the development, manufacturing is in Asia and Bobby does the race team and marketing. Would explain a lot.

If you had actually watched the video like you said, you would have known that in a week or 2 (in the 3rd of 3 reveal videos) they will be unveiling the full bike with a riding video with Ricky too.

The fact that threads like this exist shows it’s built lots of hype whether you like it or not. Having 3 reveal videos showing their big projects: the frame, the motor, then full reveal with riding I think is pretty cool. And once it’s revealed, they (or anyone for that matter) won’t give a shit about all the moaning about their marketing strategy.

You’ve turned into the #1 Triumph hater which is hilarious considering how much you defended the Stark.

I've got to hand it to you, you're very consistent with your bad takes on whatever you're commenting on.

How is that hating? I hope they produce a great bike in British Racing Green and add sone flavor to MX and SX.

My question is legit based on what we’ve seen so far.

The secretive approach is one thing, but that pretentious "round table" discussion with RC, Hot Sauce, D. Arnold, and Bobby Hewitt is excruciating.

For a lot of people bike choice is image driven and so far I'm not feeling Triumph's MX image and I doubt the bike will be head and shoulders above the established MX brands' offerings.

Are my takes bad because they are wrong or just because you don’t like them?

If they’re wrong, I‘d love to discuss!

Bingo!! Image driven is exactly it!

Most people will buy the bike on the looks, because they realise that frame & motor tech is largely unimportant in how fast they'll actually go on the thing.

Most people want to see the colour, the fenders and the graphics.

How many honest to God secrets are there anymore? I think it’s cool they have not only been able to keep it under wraps but are controlling the roll out. Keeps life interesting in my opinion.

You are posting about the brand on message board.

I’d say their marketing department has you right where they want you?

One thing you have to give them credit for, they have kept this all amazingly well hidden and out of the eyes of, just about everybody.  I don't think I have even seen a legitimate spy photo.

If the intent was to keep it that far out of sight, and do this slow release for anticipation, they are doing an awesome job. The teasers are getting annoying, I don't think any of us were expecting this slow rollout, but they definitely have us looking.  It will be interesting to see what colors they decided on (moto guys like color).
