Was at the track the other day and a fellow had some type of electric bike. It was not a full motorcycle, more like the bicycle style. He made less than a lap and I about ran into the back of him when his shit locked up and he had to drag it from the center of the track.
We ain't there yet...
I am sure that data can be found on Instagram.
You're comparing a Surron to a Stark, that's like comparing a Nissan Leaf to a Tesla.
What....you don't love the "clack clack clack" of the chain and vvvvvrrrr, vrrrrrr, vrrrrr droning sound?

You could’ve solved world hunger by now with the energy you put into hating electric bikes
I am not comparing anything. Just telling you what happened. I don't think it was a surron but I could be mistaken. I will check the gopro and LYK.
Meanwhile, I hear that french pro David Herbreteau, despite several holeshots, couldn't finish his motos at the "Rookies Cup" (kind of the french Loretta Lynn's) without his Stark going into "security mode"...
Wasn't there, don't know much more. His Instagram states "4 holeshots out of 5, fast laps and fun", and it seems he ended up 13th in the Open class...
Maybe he didn't have the Hill settings...
Isn't it funny how the usual suspects have to chime in with really nothing to offer ? I love ICEs . I hope they don't go away anytime soon but I'd love to try an e-bike out .
They were invited to the original media day , but couldn't go for some reason. It has been covered the other times it has been brought up.
I'm looking forward to hearing that MXA has sold out to Stark when they have similar things to say about the bike after an extended test.
What did they say about the Alta when they rode it? Did they ride it ?
Unless surron's have WP suspension and X Triggs...
I am not really up on these kind of toys. I am into racing motorcycles. Your the expert, you tell me.
Did it lock up because the rider locked up the brakes? Funny thing is people can forget to fill their bike and run out of gas and do the same thing. Or forget to put oil in their engine after an oil change, or forget a rag in the air box, or put unmixed gas into a 2 stroke, or many other things that You do not have to do on an electric bike. But You can still forget to charge it and have it die a quick death.
You could have went and found the rider and asked them what happened. Other than the Varg and Alta , there are some conversion kits out there , but not really any other full sized real EMX bikes. Comparing a Sur-ron size bike to a Varg,Alta or even some of the conversions is like comparing a CRF450 to a Crf125F playbike.
That's a modified surron. Any bike can have an electrical or mechanical failure.
The Varg us the first production electric bike with a frame and suspension that doesn't hold back the potential of the bike. Everyone who rides it says it's one of the best handling bike they've ever ridden.
We're getting there.
It looks like a Sur-ron , there are so many more aftermarket parts available for them than the others. But you are correct it is a toy and not a Race bike like the Varg. They are more of a pitbike.
Seems to me the thread title was inviting the "haterz" in to comment on the topic.
So basically your "nothing to offer" comment means anything that doesn't agree with your view.
Legitimate points of opposition have been brought up.
But keep up with the....
I am gonna' go with he didn't forget to charge it. He was going until it quit/locked up. The last time I seen someone lock up the brakes and stop in the landing area of a jump to drag the bike off the track was never.
1 bike and 1 failure. Where do I sign up?
Yeah I'm crying
you're a clown .
Does Stark sell spare batteries? How long does it take to fully charge a Stark battery using a generator?
Pit Row
A spare battery is 7k USD.
That's not cheap. I'm just thinking about the future of multi-day and/or multi-moto races & casual rides with electric dirt bikes. Someone competing at Lorettas, for example, is going to need a generator and probably a spare battery or two.
Those 4 stroke top ends aren't looking so bad now....
I have a very hard time believing you actually race motorcycles if you can't tell me the difference between a Stark Varg and the modified Surron you just posted.
I have a very hard time believing your IQ is above 80 because you reading comprehension sucks.
Local dealer just posted a video the other day of them riding 2 Vargs around the back lot, I'm assuming it's a rep bringing them around the country to the future dealers to get a real look at how they work.
Josh Hill literally helped develop the bike. Of course he's on the list ahead of all of us. My order still shows Sept 30th delivery. fingers crossed
How are electric cars/bikes now included in the "woke" stuff? Honestly? My aunt was saying the same shit at a family get-together the other day and even she couldn't pinpoint why it's a "woke" thing. My family is full of hillbilly loving dirtbikers and we all can't wait until the battery tech catches up and we can start replacing bikes and other things with electric motors. Some things make no sense (I can't mow my parents 3+ acres of grass with an electric riding mower) and long distant vehicles. But idk...my uncle is from Missouri and put an electric motor in a Ford Ranger. He hates the "woke" stuff.... I don't know.
Same time as plugging into an outlet. 1-2 Hours to go from dead to full. If this bike handles and has the easy to use power levels that are raved about in just about every review. It will be a very high performing dirt bike. Bikes that are at the top of the performance scales are not often the least expensive. Just like a Factory edition KTM husky, etc.
Harbor Freight has a few solid inverter style generators that can be bought for around the price of a full exhaust . and they run around 58-63 DB. A window AC unit is often louder. and the 2 that are at the higher end of the price range should be in the quicker time for recharging. Plus if You are NOT a top pro and killing the battery each moto, You can charge it for a half hour or whatever in between motos.
And for a race like Loretta Lynn's , I am going to guess that most people that are camping out there have access to power for charging. People spend thousands to go there, have spare bikes and engines. So an extra battery would not be crazy . Instead of having 2 bikes maybe they have a Varg and 2 batteries.
Even the local series in New England , everybody with an RV has a generator since there are not any outlets available for anybody other than the track and NESC staff. Even 20 years ago the pits were full of generators. Now there are more of them, and they are cheaper and less noisy.
I don't understand why everybody thinks its so crazy to own a generator??
And If You do not think the benefits of Electric outweigh the drawbacks of it. Keep riding Your gas bikes. By the time it is mostly EMX bikes, there will be cheaper used options, and range will be at least doubled. Nobody is taking Your Gas bikes away.
Why? We all saw it, as well as him jumping over that branch jump.
Why is no one talking about the cool Talaria xXx?
Yeah okay, where is your reply? Why no response? The Talaria is only $3250 and you can ride it practically anywhere, plus the battery life is excellent.
Yah I don't get it either. It makes no sense. I can kinda see the connection to the electric cars that get big tax rebates. But with MX bikes it makes no sense to make that connection at all. It is insane what has become political these days!!
Post a reply to: Stark Varg battery life….where da haterz at?
