Was there any footage of what happened?
Somehow lost the front on the way up the big triple. Body bounced off the face of the jump and got catapulted. Showed some footage on the broadcast but it wasn’t real clear what happened with the bike.
Wondering too. I was there and didn't see (from a distance) him move at all. We were worried sick about him. Read in the other thread he was up and walking though...has that been confirmed?
I never saw him up and walking just waving from a stretcher. Haven’t heard any updates either.

He was knocked out and in the state of Maryland, a loss of consciousness means an automatic
Helicopter ride. According to a source, who spoke to the the medic, the facial injuries he had were pretty gnarly and the helmet definitely saved his ass.

Kind of thankful now they stopped the race to deal with him.
I'd rather they have a hair trigger and red flag the race than try to dance around bikes helping seriously injured riders.

I saw the footage of the crash on Instagram and I can't for the life of me remember who's page it was on. Violent crash. Spectators said he was bleeding from his eyes

Would love to see the helmet. Curious how he got that much trauma to the face if everything fit and worked like it should. Dead man without it though.
dont know if anyone remembers few years ago Brad Anderson EMX300 Championship rider had a incident with a leatt helmet that caused damage to his face aswell

C'mon fellas...it's not like he was wearing a pudding bowl. There is NO safety equipment that can protect 100%. Let's say his injuries could have been much worse without it. Heal up Bud.
What helmet was Weston Peick wearing when he got his injury in France? All our gear reduces not remove the chance of injury.
Leatt is definitely a company that emphasises safety over looking cool, so can’t bag on the brand of helmet. A face into a jump and that speed is going to be gnarly regardless. Glad Hardy is going to be ok.
He was in a FLY helmet for that. I believe it was the F2 Carbon model at the time. I don't think it was the FLY Formula helmet yet when that happened.
The FLY Formula has been around for well over a decade.
The Rheon and AIS came later around 2019.
