He’s incredibly bad and now he just copies James the entire time.
He literally said he would let chase by in moto 1. What the hell
The man just got his GED, let's not hold the bar too high for him haha
I mean, at least he is on-par with the Linguists that announced Loretta's? haha
Regardless of his gaffes, I actually like hearing from RC. I know he has a lot of broadcasting hate, but he and James play good off each other. Although JS7 is a beast in the booth.

James called Will, Erin. No genetic relation at all, don't even sound the same
Weege said Hunter Deegan, shit happens.
And yet off the top of my head I can think of multiple times racing James or Chad he never let them by when they were right on him. Yet he says that’s what he would do if he were Jett.
Absolute trash analyst. If he were half as good at it if he were his racing career he’d be one of the best.
Wishfull thinking
Relax guys. It’s all a learning lesson.
Seemed like everyone was off today, Weege called Unadilla Washougal
I know it was for nbc but way too many people on the broadcast. My wife happened to be near the tv today. She said why do they never stop talking? Lol kind of ironic. Then came, they only follow a few riders lap after lap… after lap. the leaders are 1.7 seconds apart!? I said thats the bondo effect. So after semi explaining that phenomenon, it was brought to my attention. That “those two guys” need grammar lessons. Rc and stew have won a ton though, James really knows his craft. Doesn’t matter, all RC does is mansplain what james just said. The back and forth continued 😅🤪
I think its time for Rc to focus on other avenues and activities.
I just cringe when I hear “learning lesson”. Learning is implied by lesson so using those words together is redundant. Why not just say lesson? Or learning opportunity? Or just about anything else. To my ears, it just sounds ridiculous.
"Must situation" is way worse, IMO. He must what? HE JUST MUST!
Are you guys saying former racers turned announcers with a history of head trauma sometimes get people's names mixed up? That's unpossible!
"To your point..."
Since language does indeed create our reality, we infer much into the interpretation of it. Is that connotative, or denotative?
Confounding at times.
Huh.....aside from the few gaffes I really enjoyed the broadcast today. No one should expect anyone on the broadcast to be Jim Nantz! RC seemed relaxed, JT was great, I like Will, she is informed and does her homework and frames the all too familiar questions well. JS killed it and Weege is a pro's pro.
Pit Row
I actually thought it may have been deliberate this time?
In that same segment, did anyone else notice that the photo on Johnny O’s crew credential looked like Junior Soprano?
It's telling RC got booted out of the booth and James was in there with Weege. Hopefully NBC has realized he is terrible at his job. All he did today was repeat what James said from the "tower". I loved RC as a rider, but no matter how good he was on the bike,he is just bad as an analyst. Period.
Even listening to the Title 24 podcast, RC just struggles to string a sentence together. I thought it was telling that James stayed in the booth. I think its time to move over RC....
I think James is better when allowed to just chill and have a chat. Glad he toned down some of the gags like "feeling dangerous", but I have commented before that James does have some really good insights. RC has improved but he is still really not cut out for commentating.... even as a reporter on the ground, JT has him beat by miles.
I feel like Weege is having to work even harder to get the best out of it all. James is worth investing in (and he can probably thank his podcast for that), RC is really not giving as much back. I still think cycling through the past legends was arguably the best. Rick Johnson was great.
When did 'to your point' suddenly become the go-to phrase in moto? It's like a virus.
I agree about RC on Title 24. RV holds the whole thing together. He's informed and articulate, and has good takes.
I love their banter back in forth, Weege is just a legend, across the board. I do prefer stew bc I feel like RC tries to hard to get the audience hyped if that makes sense.
The moto broadcasts come with a guaranteed cringe or two nowadays. Unadilla had half a dozen. Just an off day as someone else pointed out.
I think they talk way too much and that makes it difficult for all of them to feel out a more natural cadence. Hard to even hear the bikes go around the track at all. That said, it’s gotta be a tough balance when it comes to commentating, but I like to think a “less is more” approach would still be applicable to a degree. American society is really uncomfortable with silence in social situations and it definitely shows with all the nonsense being spewed at times.
The flubs are fine and are going to happen. They happen all the time in other sports, motorsport or not. Knowing what to let slide, what to correct, and when to correct it is where I think there’s the most room to be desired currently.
I think James is naturally really good in the booth and has kinda forced RC to step out of his shell a bit and try some new things out. To me, that shows he has an interest in developing his skill set, which is admirable. He’s definitely less of a natural than James when it comes to commentating but rather than let that deflate him he’s searching for something that works better. Hard for me to knock him for that.
What drives me more crazy than any amount of flubs are repeated grammar mistakes throughout every broadcast. That kind of thing makes the sport seem like some sort of B-class side show to the casual viewer. Neither Ricky or James are the most eloquent, but no one is seemingly trying to get them to reel that in. Maybe that’s a testament to how difficult the job actually is. The biggest one that drives me up the wall is every time James is searching for a way to describe what’s happening in front of them, he ends his statement with the phrase “on there.” Take a drink every time he does it in every broadcast and you’ll be drunk by the end of the first motos.
The commentary is one thing but the riders often using the royal we- pluralis majestatis -speaking in the third person during interviews, is strange.
I think he was trying to say “learning opportunity.” I rank it right up there with “he is in a must situation.”
It would be nice sometimes to just get corner shots, semi close to the rider and allow us to audibly hear the different riding styles. They talk about it so much, give us some real looks at it. The next thing is the running order on the left. Cant they run a bot or something to switch between the different information. They could rotate every 30 seconds or a minute so, between, position and time behind leader, fast lap of the race they have ran, their last lap time and maybe one that just shows in the last lap if they have moved up positions or dropped positions.
The announcers dont bother me much at all, but i think Weege, Stew and Jt are a damn good team. They have a ton of knowledge, they talk well and damn Stew has made me laugh out loud multiple times with some of his quick wit stuff. I still stand by, tune them out some and give us some raw action no matter who is in the booth though.
