What made it so great?
Where was it?
I'll go first: For me it was in Indiantown, Florida...in the middle of an orange grove. It was a dark, soft and sandy track that was really fast. You could hold it wide open and just send it in the corners. I still think think about that track almost 15 years later and hitting some of those massive jumps.
I went to that track once. Was packed too. Wish it was still around. I would have to say Budds Creek for me, only rode there once but was for an outdoor, track was prep perfectly and was just fun to ride.
I’ll go ahead and get Monster Mountain out of the way since I’m sure that’s going to be a lot of the replies.
excellent dirt, fun jumps, all time flow all while being a very safe track.
Back in it's prime, it was really popular. Since you're in Florida, where do you ride now?
That's in Alabama yeah? I think the guy from that orange grove track took over Monster Mountain for a bit. What was the dirt like? It looks absolutely perfect in pictures and video.

RedBud vet fest years back. Prepped to perfection and amazing facility.
Lots of other best track moments, hard to pick just one.
Dirt, flow, environment of monster mountain.
Red bud 2000. Dirt, prep, flow, environment. Make red bud great again.
Lorettas 2000. Prep and dirt on point.
Local private track at my friends, the Millers. Josh steel built a SX one year. Was a place for Katin, Boyas, and a few other local pros to pound real sx laps. I loved it. Drive by the field where it was on the regular.
Redbud around 02/03 was absolute peak conditions for me. Just started riding a 4 stroke and not that many people were on them at the time, so the track wasn’t as chewed up as it gets now. Having a CRF450 at redbud during those years was legit almost cheating.
Carnegie Upper the weekend after the 1973 Trans-AMA. Fogged in for weeks, dirt was soft and loamie, and stayed that way all day due to the fog. Lots of big elevation and no peaked jumps.
Another short lived track, but I always thought Pecan Valley in McRae, GA was an amazing track. Good layout, long, fast. A few booters, mostly clay, but with some sand sections.
Never in all my years did I think someone would list Carnegie as their favorite track. I learned how to ride there. Pretty cool place.
I have had "best day ever" at Budds Creek, Zaca Station, Cahuilla Creek, Glen Helen, Southwick, and sand pits in NJ.
Hell yeah! Love to hear that.
Clutch city Houston
Groomed Kentworthys and Broomtiaoga Binghampton NY . Maybe Terra haute indiana i forget the name of the track it was in 1987.
Cahuilla Creek back when it first opened was the best track I’ve ever ridden. I believe that was in the early 2000’s. Didn’t have many jumps at the time, but the flowy turns and elevation change made it extremely fun.
When Mammoth used to be open to the public that was also extremely fun, but that got shut down while I was still on 80’s so I never got to enjoy it on a big bike.
Too many to list.
Indian Dunes (Shadow Glen)
Saddleback
Our home-made track in Topanga Canyon/Santa Monica mountains.
....and the L.A. Coliseum (amateur SX). Flying off the Peristyle is one of those "never forget" life moments.
Miles Mountain in Elkland PA was incredible. Very fast track that made great use of the natural elevation, with lots of big but safe jumps. For a while they would regularly bring in new topsoil, and it was always prepped so perfectly. The only track I've ever been wide open in 5th gear on 250f.
Early to mid 00's Broome when it actually had soil was a great track. Loved the few times a year they'd open up the full national loop for amateurs.
Pit Row
Best dirt- mx191 Milton, Florida
Best overall track- CGI Facility edgfield, South Carolina
That is a tough question, I'm going to go with my local track, Sunset Ridge MX.
Gaildorf Germany 1974 & 1975 CZ 250
The track is all natural terrain - so much fun
1974 it rained all night and took everything one had to get around it has lots of steep hills and off camber turns
1975 was sunny with moist dirt.

Toss up between Hollister just after new years 1977, pure natural virgin grass track at the GP location. Either that or Plymouth for the sandy whoops and berms.
Sears was great, but those two eclipsed it in NorCal IMO.
A prepped grunthal raceway in 98-99. The national can be found on youtube, but such a fun track.
Mustang Acres, Brighton MI. Sandy on the bottom hard pack on the top, fun layout always full gates.
Zaca Station, CA. Sorta private. Amazing dirt. Fun layout. If you made an error navigating to the track, you'd always receive a warm and cuddly welcome by the neighboring landowner. Near Buellton & Solvang so always made for a fun weekend getaway.
Zaca Station and Castillo Ranch
That track was gorgeous. Then the drought hit. Hard to believe it was the same place in 74.
Motoland Indiana, 3.5 miles of loamy sand. Big long track with pro lap times over 4 minutes.
Zaca
Chaney Ranch
Zaca is up there for sure. Just wish I rode it after I upped my game. I had only gone there just after getting back into riding/racing and I was pretty lost.
I need to get out to some other states and ride some of the more "picturesque" facilities.
