Hasn’t this been pretty common knowledge since the TBI bikes came out?

I remember seeing a 2-3 strange Cylinder failures online on the 250s when the TBI bikes first started rolling out, but it seems KTM stepped up to help the people and no telling if it was user error or a manufacturer issue.

Aren’t/weren’t a bunch of their street bikes assembled in India?

Is it really that big of a deal? Dont they make cylinders for BMW ,kawasaki ,artic cat and probably some others? If they make a good cylinder it shouldn't be an issue.

Ironically, on the 23 300 TBI bikes, the Elko cylinders were the ones cracking and the Kymco's seem fine.

Not sure why this gets such a negative spin.

Kymco has some of the best motorcycle-specific casting processes in the global supply chain.

Nothing new here my 21 250sx has a kymco cylinder. It actually looks a lot better than the elko cylinder my 21 150sx has.

KYMCO is a Taiwanese not Chinese company, and Taiwan are world renowned for their precision manufacturing and supply chain prowess.

LOL.

This reminds me of the people who trash Toyota, Nissan etc while screaming "Buy American".    There is no 100% "American" made vehicle anymore.    It's a global economy now, companies outsource to other manufacturers.

FWIW, I stopped buying "American" made vehicles because they are junk.

I just love when Yanks shit on stuff made in Asia, but have no motorcycle industry and produce cars that the rest of the world wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole… the only saving grace is Tesla.

You're damn right I'm not going to buy it, I try to avoid Chinese shit as much as possible and if I knew KTM was using Cylinders made in China, that's a deal breaker for me.  Funny! China unleashed a plague upon the world that killed almost 7 million people that is looking more and more that it came from a lab experimenting to make virus's more infectious, then they closed Hubei Province where Wuhan was domestically, so Chinese people couldn't leave or go into that Hell Hole of disease, but! they allowed their people to travel internationally out of that province to infect the world with a biological bomb.   How quickly we forget, but that's Humans for you.

And in your xenophobic drivel you fail to realize that you're actually boycotting a company from Taiwan, who is one of the most important American assets in the Pacific and perhaps China's staunchest enemy.

My bad, I confused them with Kayo bikes that look like KTM's, but are made in China.  I guess it's my turn to be dragged behind a horse through a field of thistles naked and screaming, but it says the KTM 790's are made in China.

Ha!  It was only a few generations ago that a certain country unleashed the worst human atrocity of all time and another attacked US soil.  Are you boycotting them too?

I’ve machined and welded some kymco parts before, better quality and consistency than the EU sourced parts for the same application.

Blaming all Chinese for COVID is idiocy.      The problem is with their government.    Bad citizens and bad government players are worldwide and every country has em.

This crap reminds me of the people who still hate Japanese and Germans because of WWII....Or those blaming todays generation of white folks for the slave trade.

Being a mold builder I have heard some horrible stories about them stealing people's designs. Guys losing everything trying to recoup their loses from the Chinese stealing designs.
