Slap a Coors light logo on there and let RV race this weekend!

Villo should have put a dress on for that photo, it would have been more fitting.  Grinning

I can  only imagine what he's thinking behind that smile.... "WTF is with this pink/purple shit....."

As a Yamaha fan I would have preferred black and yellow with with the checkered graphics, gold rims, maybe even a Hannah lighting bolt..but it’s not about him

Maybe going for the gen z nostalgia for 90's early 2000's stuff.

As much as the '73 twin shocker was the start of the line and was a very trick bike at the time (especially as so much of it was a hot-rodded DT), the real knock-it-out-of-the-park came with the monoshock in '74.  While Maico made LTR a reality for twin-shockers, it was Yamaha that decided to reinvent the wheel with the single shock format.  Needless to say, we all know who won that battle...

Here's one of the Cdn early edition 360's:

Hate on it if you want, but I LOVE it. Obviously would be much much better without the monster logo but that's rad. It's just cool that they're doing anything other than the all-black look.

For those of you who say this is from the wrong era, you're either too young to know better or too old to remember. This was an epic era for Yamaha that signified their resurgence to the top of the sport. For example, how many premier class wins did Yamaha have from 1986 to 1991 (250&500 SX&MX)?

1986: 0

1987: 0

1988: 1

1989: 0

1990: 6

1991: 5

Then in '92, a young phenom known as the Beast from the East came in and led them to 11 250 class wins.

By 1993, Yamaha felt like it was coming on strong and would dominate the next few years (except that a kid named Jeremy would have something to say about that). But going into 1993, Yamaha was cool again.

Very cool Yamaha, well done.

Who hates the monster logo?  In green it looks stupid on a pink/purple bike that looks like a kindergartener used crayons to paint.

Someone shit in your cream of wheat at the retirement home this morning.

Actually the look makes sense for Washougal.  I believe 93 was the first year of Yamaha doing all their YZ ads and brochures at Washougal that  were pretty iconic through the rest of the 90s and into the 00s.  It may not be a look from 50 years ago…and it’s not another yellow Bob Hannah look that’s been way over done…but it’s 30 years ago and reaches a lot of 30-50 year old fans…

That poor Yamaha did not deserve that. Is it April Fools day? Only a fool would think that is a good look.

I think the bike looks cool, but choosing a 30 year old colour scheme to celebrate a 50 year anniversary is a bit weird. Should have been silver/ red/ black.

I remember Bradshaw very well.

...but this is NOT a 50th anniversary bike.....at best, it's a 30th anniversary homage.

There is nothing that ties it to the 1974 YZ250 except in name.

The pics you posted of Bradshaws works bike look far better than the supposed "anniversary" bike.     The purple rims on the 250f are ghastly...

Don't kid yourself, even if they did it in the original YZ colors, you'd still find something to bitch about, because you complain about everything.

I just watched some of the press day shit on YouTube....and those Star bikes look awesome in the PNW sun!

Also, the '97 Yamaha ad at Washougal was some serious bike porn. 90's were the best.

this.  to those sayings it's irrelevant, widen your mx history knowledge. yz/shougal shoots / the best new bike brochures for forever, very relevant.

If you guys like the color of the bikes, wait until you see the team rider gear tomorrow..  I will say it looks much better in person.
