Some random observations from Millville 2023.
-It was PACKED, never seen so many people there, tons of families with kids, awesome to see moto in the midwest in a good place.
-Amateur racer turnout looked good from the turnout in the pits as well.
-Dude carring the weed eater engine with the kawi fender, I saw you let 10+ kids try it out and make it rev with the twist grip. Kudos to you sir.
-Tons of Deegan Fans carrying signs, shirts, etc.
-Hunter was fastest qualifier in 250 class, without doing the uphill triple-triple once
-New triple-triple up the hill was incredible to watch, its nice to see an obstacle that isnt a "gimme" for the top guys these days.
-Star Yamaha 250s were making the first uphill triple look easy, everyone else was stretching it.
-Eliminating the S turns in the back for the hip jump was a win IMO. The guys were styling over the hip into the corner
-Deegan looked like he just had an off day, nothing terrible, just couldnt run the same pace as others.
-Jett looks like hes on a trail ride 95% of the time. Crazy how he can ride so fast and look like hes not trying at all. Chase on the other hand looks more "on edge"
-Track prep looked like harder dirt than normal, but not terrible.
-Air was a little smoky thanks wildfires, hopefully it didnt bother anyone too bad.
-Crowd was pulling for Sexton to catch/pass Jett, they got loud a few times.
-Facility was well kept as always.
See ya next year.
Millville is on my list next year. That track makes my weiner poke out.
Its definitely worth the trip.
Just be prepared for zero cell service when you get there lol.
One thing I noticed is the amount of people I’d talk to that didn’t ride/have ever rode or even people that weren’t that familiar with the sport. I was talking to this one couple in between motos that took a road trip up to watch the race but didn’t even know about RedBud!
Lol...I've been coast to coast the last 3 years for the Nats. Cell service in this country is pretty much non-existent except for cities or larger towns.
I want a meter on my phone that starts reducing my bill for every minute my phone is worthless. I guarantee they'd owe me money every month. Fuck those thieves.

That was a great event, beautiful track and there are so many spots available to watch when standing on the hills. When standing on the collarbone hill you can see almost all of the track except for the sandwash.
I was surprised to see that there was not one bump down the first straight all the way to bob's corner. That is typically really rough. They had the holeshot line just before the corner.
am I the only one who liked the break from texts and emails?
Zero Cell service, sounds perfect 👍
So just like every National then?
I ride at Meadow Valley MX alot (literally 2 miles down the road from Spring Creek), I have terrific service there lol.
Other random observations I forgot to add-
-250 moto 2 started 20mins early per the schedule I downloaded that morning. I compared notes with the TV camera man, he was also confused.
-Always fun to chat with people at nationals. One guy was originally from Australia, living in Salt Lake, flew to Spring creek to catch a national, and the dad of a privateer (I think Zack Archer 765). Awesome people.
I got home Tuesday afternoon not even 1 min later I had to work at my dad’s farm to get it ready to sell. He’s in a nursing home now . Wed is run tons of errands, etc. Thur 2 dr apts Ct scan, etc another 6am to 23.00 running. Fri 7.30 get supplies for hitting the rd then hospital apt to get my back injected . Butt to foot was super numb. I also got sick from 2 shots from dr Thur. Sat my leg & foot was still numb. So I couldn’t go. Burnt out from working 17-23 hr days 7 days a week. Too many injuries the 3 1/2 months of injections & 3 small surgeries killed my account. I planned to race the double header memorial weekend then other super series races. And Am practice Thur race Fri watch the pro,s then race Sunday. Oh well maybe next yr.
The Pro track challenge Sunday. Brodie from Wi. Went 1,1 in the 125 class. Biggest race of the weekend.
Who hacked profeshenal’s account?! There is punctuation in two consecutive posts. Granted, the sentence structure is still lacking but periods and spaces indicating changes in the thought processes is concerning. Are you ok Pro? Blink twice if you need help. 😉
My wife made a new meatloaf recipe. It was good.
Pfffttt. I finally figured out how to cook really thick bone in pork loin chops to perfection. Melt in yer mouth...no choppers required. This is a revelation buddy...I mean a real game changer.
Don't ask for the recipe. You wouldn't expect Jett to tell Chase his secret to success...I'm the Jett of pork chops. Bite me suckas.
Ok, ok...since yer beggin'...
I lube the chops with nice light olive oil. Copious amounts of Cavenders Greek seasoning and chicken fajita spice...don't be stingy. Lay 'em out flat in a big rectangular cake pan. Pour about a 1/4 cup of chicken stock around the chops. Seal it with tin foil...best you can get it.
Put it in a 260 degree oven for 3 to 4 hours.
Be sure to cook more than you think you'll need cause it's like crack....I kid you not.
Thank you for the recipe, that shit was amazing.
I’ve been going since 2001 & it hasn’t been this busy in at least a decade. Perhaps back to the RC years. Glad to see it
Cavender’s is the king of all the flavors!!
The viewing for that track is amazing. Only National I’ve been to where you can see 80-90% of the track from one location.
Pit Row
Thanks ball...glad it worked out for ya.
You're right about the Greek Infodude.
Next year
Just ordered some cavenders online, never tried it, but you guys are very convincing!!!
Yeah I feel like I have to try this now as well!
It’s one of my favorite seasonings, that and some Tony Chachere’s creole.
Actually I,m in a lot of pain mostly my back. The epadural injections didn’t work fri. Trk is blown out garbage. Chiropractor mon didn’t do much. Trk kicks & slams the drive wheels - duals off the ground & slams them down almost or in the next lane. Both rear ends r leaking bad. I found out Fri my occ insurance is not paying the 8,400. Not making any money even running 23 hr days. It’s a nightmare every day. And the Millville whoops sucked. Like where we,re the whoops. Some easy round desert rollers.
Pro, matt it and good luck.
I go at least every other year if I can. My first year was 1986. To me it was only slightly more fans than 2021, and I have a lot of pics from both years. I did notice more women/girls than any year I've been going. I spoke to a group (my wife right there) and this was their first outdoor national for all of them (a couple said they have been to SX races). I believe Jett and Deegan have a lot to do with that. The Canadian wildfire smoke was pretty bad, couldn't smell it, but it was way worse Saturday than earlier in the week.
The organization of the parking, to the pits to the racing is top notch. I never have complaints and love Millville.
I kept saying the same thing to my wife about Hunter in qualifying laps. So many 250f guys were at least clearing the first Mt Martin triple, and he never did it once and still qualified #1. I was shocked. He was cutting time in other parts of the track obviously.
My drive to Millville is 15 hours. For people who haven't gone, you have no excuse!!
It has been eons of time since I attended an outdoor national...but Millville is on my bucket list for sure.
