Good deal. Hope he has good results.
Pretty sure Pierce Brown will be back as well. Good to have more guys on the gate! Hopefully they can both pull top 10's.

Pierce is back this weekend as well.
Assuming Forkner is close to typical form, could he still get enough points to get into the SMX championship? MAV, hit me with the numbers!
what about macadoo what happened to him
According to his IG, he's still rehabbing the shoulder, and isn't back on the motorcycle yet, so I'd assume he's out until SX next year.
If he can stay around the top 5 every moto he should make it.
If he was to score 9 points per moto for the rest of the season he should just get into the top 30 smx points
20th is currently about 120 points.
30th is about 90.
With a lot of the riders in those positions not racing, blose, thrasher, Henry miller, Oldenburg, Cole Thompson, park, schock, mcadoo etc. Those points won't increase much. 130 should get top 20 and 100 top 30.
10 races left he will need to average 8th or better to top 20 and about 10th to get to the top 30.
But who knows. Jett, hymas and j-mart are all up higher on points and won't race. So does that mean 23rd will qualify 20th?
Yes. I'll make it simple. Even if he were to go 12th in every moto that would give him 90pts. That would be enough to qualify him for the 21st-30th group meaning he would need to race the LCQ at each event.
Say he goes 8th every moto, that would give him 130pts., which would more than likely be enough to qualify him in the top 20.
The bottom line, barring disaster, he should make it in.
They won't take injured/promoted riders out of the top 20 (Hymas, Jett, etc). They will take more from the LCQ.
Put another way if 10 of the top 20 show up they will take 10 additional riders from the LCQ over and above the 4(?) they would have taken if all top 20 showed up. So the battle for 4th in the LCQ won't be that exciting. Battle for 10th may be instead.
So if 12 riders out of the top 30 don't show up. The guys ranked 20th-30 will line up for the lcq. All of them will make it. And the main event will have 18? Then if we lose a couple before the last race we will have 15 riders on the gate?
If there is only 2-3 riders out. They will do what they said. But if they is 8-12 out. They will take the top 20 fit riders as the seeded guys. Then the next 10 healthy guys to make a top 30.
Currently 250s have 8 out.
Surprisingly 450s only have 3. Eli, barcia and Craig. U could add webb to the list. All but Eli should be back for smx.
Riders that could be out for smx.
Smith, jett, hymas, lopes, Martin, thrasher, mcadoo And Thompson.
That's 8 riders. Then what happens with blose and mumfy? Does Mitch take them? Do they have to get there own bikes?
If the race was this weekend there could possibly be only 20 riders.
I feel like Smith is pretty safe with his amount of points. His intention is to be at SMX.
That's one of the greatest things of moto, when you are sitting there with a buddy and catch someone doing something that no one else saw or noticed just how rad it was. When I'm flagging we all try to be professional, but we always end up looking across the way and giving the nod like "Did you see that?"
The coolest one was at Salt Lake City this year I got to sit in the press box and Marv sat next to me. Nop, we're not buddies or nothing and I tried not to bug him too much but we both saw Kenny putting a combo together and gave that same look to each other. Nothing said between us but we both knew we saw something cool.
Side note: Marv is as cool and polite as you would think he is. He was one of the last ones grabbing a seat with some friends and asked me if he could sit in one of the last open seats next to me. I just said, "You belong here more than I do." Basically, if there were no seats I'm standing. lol
Call me crazy, I don't see him top 5 coming off the shelf

Call me crazy, I don't see him top 5 coming off the shelf
You're not wrong to think that. He hasn't shown a lot of speed outdoors consistently ever really.
I do hope he has some speed though. I like Austin and want to see him succeed again.
His vlogs with Rhyno have been awesome. In the past I was neither a fan nor a hater, but I'm turning into a fan now. As for the cocky/arrogant attitude earlier in his career... I think we forget how young these guys are. I look back on some of the things I said and did in my late teens/ early twenties and I just cringe.
Forkner seems to be maturing and learning from the cards life has dealt him (good and bad). I hope he does well this weekend.
Smith will be back, Lopes is planning on being there McAdoo and Thompson won't make the top 30, there are other riders that are getting points that will move into the top 30 and top 20 Hammaker, Brown, Swoll, Schwartz, Kelley and possibly Mumford if he races again should all be in the top 20 by seasons end. So the only riders in my opinion that will be in the top 20 that won't be able to race are Jett, Hymas and Martin. That would mean that 10 guys would be racing for 5 spots in the LCQ.
I hope he ends up making into SMX, Austin has insane speed and is super fun to watch.
Lopes just had shoulder surgery.
He expects to be back by then
Wow. That will be a super tight recovery. I can't imagine he will get any seat time.
Hell yes, hope Forkner kicks ass and takes names.
Would be awesome to see him score enough points to make the playoffs, then bang bars for the championship!
Blows me away that Mumford at 21 is not racing. What does he have to lose getting his own bike and racing?
I may be wrong I believe his dad has something to do with bar X Suzuki the team he was on before could get a bike from there?
Mumford had an option to do the entire outdoor series with another team. He took a chance as a fill in for PC instead knowing he might not race all the races but would be on better equipment for the ones he did race.
