I watch the odd vid of his and don't mind them but the fact that there is so much hate towards cooksey, hopper, ping etc on here makes me think they might be onto something?
Hopper comes across as a dude that wasn't fast enough to make it and resents the sport because of it.
This sums it up for me. I find that when he says something wrong, it's amplified by those that dislike him and if he says something right, it's downplayed or passed off as luck. At the end of the day, if you don't like him, don't watch him. I watch him from time to time in part because of an annoyance with the "mainstream" moto media. RacerX's softball coverage of the Star bike claim incident is an example.
I don't care for his personality or the way he talks to people. But I found it very interesting that DB125 did not deny the accusation that he struggled with RC in the booth. After all DB125 coulda said, "Absolutely false - No way". But he simply remained silent.
I really don't know anything about Hopper or the others. As for Cooksey, I don't understand the people saying most of his stuff is garbage but every once in a while he's right about something so they keep following. Really? sometimes men with a platform need to drop their balls and speak the truth. Everything is political at the end of the day, even motocross.
He doesn't hide his resentment at all. Part of that is his platform. The goal is to help make the sport better for future riders so they don't have to go through the same shit as he did. Can't fault him for his efforts or telling his story, even though sometimes it's a bit negative. He does give some hard truth from a privateers perspective.
