I have zero dislike for the kid.
But the cap and gown thing was beyond bizarre.
I loved it when the announcers were talking about how Jett wasn't even trying, just coasting, something looks off, and then all of a sudden he's gaining over a second every lap on the leader. Next thing you know he catches and passes Roczen and takes the win.
Agreed. I’d also throw in that Jett didn’t have to beat Kenny other than for pride, and still did.
To be fair, moving the goalposts to suit one’s personal biases seems to be annoying popular in many facets of life these days, not just mx…

Finally some people are waking up! I keep getting attacked by all the Jett fanboys on here when I mention Jett is getting a gift because 5 top guys are out. All it took was a half retired former Champ to come OFF THE COUCH and put down faster laps, chase Jett down and make him crash easily. Then once Roczen gets passed, he passes Jett back. Which, according to the fanboys, "no one can pass Jett back." The results don't show it, but Kenny just put a giant dent in the atmosphere of Jett's "dominance".
Put the pipe down. Saying two riders are better then RC is far worse then saying the earth is flat.
It's always been this way. Any time a new rider comes on the scene, and is very successful...especially against the "establishment", the fanboy wagon loads up quick! And, just like the uber-politicized world we live in today...there is no more "agree to disagree" at all. If you disagree with the new rider being just a bump away from Jesus himself, you are attacked. And it will continue until the "new guy" gets beaten by a mere mortal, or the next "new guy" comes up.
And so it goes, and so it goes...
Yet the scoreboard shows 8-0....
Which 2 riders? Maybe in some segment they have better numbers ( Eli having more SX main wins). But RC has way more total wins than anybody.
RC said he has the talent to break all the records. Not he will.
I see that reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. Where's the Jett hate? He's had a much easier time in mx than sx. Ask Austin Forkner if my memory is failing me. Is my memory failing me that he broke his collarbone his first sx season? Did you get your HS diploma online like Deegan?
I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but! if Jett Lawrence has a perfect season in his rookie year in the 450 class some people are going to lose their minds with excuses. Jett destroyed the 250 class against some extremely good riders and now he's destroying the 450 class against seasoned veterans. Had Eli Tomac and Chase Sexton been racing Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart when they had their perfect seasons, I have doubts they would have gone 24-0, but they get all the accolades for that accomplishment. If Jett goes perfect, it's just as much or even more of an accomplishment, because he did it in his first year and is probably going to be looked upon as the most dominant rookie rider in AMA history.
Yes and doing so well at such a young age gives him a pretty good shot at it. He might not be doing something as groundbreakingly new as JS with his scrub or MC with staying low. But the way he can often be so perfect when he rides makes him just as fun to watch ,for me anyway. The way he catches the downsides and is on the gas driving down the landings is something that he is doing that I have not noticed others doing it as well.
It was amazing to go to races and watch James and RC ride at levels that made the rest of the class look like a different class.Even though the battle or lack of battle's for the lead might become a common thing in the 450 class this summer, It will still be fun to watch Jett ride like he is in his own class , if he keeps on winning and making it look easy.
I don't think Ricky Carmichael or James Stewart would have had perfect seasons, had Jett Lawrence been racing against them at the time. Jett has shown that he's at a different level than everyone else, his 90% smooth and in control speed is everyone else's 100% ragged edge on the brink of disaster speed. It's as if he can turn it up a notch and gap the field instantly at random when he needs it and then cruise around effortlessly for the rest of the race in the lead. He's looking like he might be the most naturally gifted SX and MX rider ever. Amazing talent.
I think it’s the opposite
roczen just exposed this weekend he’s maybe not next level just the field is weak?
JT said including practice he fell about 4-5 that’s not next level.
The only time I hear about Jett being a 'generational talent' is in posts that say it's silly to refer to him as being a generational talent..
Also his dominance is the only interesting thing in the 450's at the moment and you don't want the producers to talk about it? haha Sure they could talk about the lack of depth and how much 'easier' it is this year for him but people will stop tuning in.. If you're annoyed by his storyline I've got news for you, it's not going away anytime soon
He also went the deepest into the season with laps lead. 3rd race in, already in the record books.
How about Mookie and Craig? Barcia?

It ain't just RC. Listen to JS7. Why does it bother you that this kid is so good? Seems everyone sees it but you.
Remember when the fully retired dunge came of the couch after 5 years and beat lord tomac 1st moto last year.
I love the off the couch comments for Kenny. He missed 3 races. And was training for wsx in that time. And Kenny always comes out swinging and fades off. Look at last year's mx results.
Maybe that ride from Kenny would have got him a win last year. Maybe a 5th. Kenny is normally good in deep long ruts.
But guess what. We will never know coz those riders are out injured. And it doesn't matter if your the fmotp you cannot win injured.
But I feel like we will have to get used to it. Coz tomac retires. In mx that leaves chase vs jett for the next few years. If 1 gets injured it could be multiple boring years.
I'd like to add coaching. Someone has found a way to teach him patience. That he only needs to go fast enough to win. I don't think enough riders know how to manage riding up front. Yes, there are some days you are just unstoppable but over the course of a season you just have to ride smart. I believe that while it's a huge ego boost to decimate the field, it's disrespectful to your team to take the added risk just for your own ego. There are also some days you also have to give up the win for the big picture. That's really hard to do for a young rider.

You're right, Dungey is better than JS7.
People are delusional for no reason other than to hate. Personalities aside both Lawrences, Deegan and Sexton are all "next level." I enjoyed seeing Jett in a position where he needed to earn it, but even that ended up looking easy by the end. Sexton is just as talented but his confidence is fragile. Deegan's almost the opposite - he comes close to running out of talent 2-3 times every race but the mentality and the confidence and the composure is equal to Hunter. Jett and Hunter are really the only two right now that have it all together, with Jett being center-stage as the 450 rookie.
I agree that Jett is very talented. But its hard to say that he could have been faster than RC or JS while they were at their prime. I have not seen Jett on a 450 in person yet, But RC and JS were making 3rd place look like they were a midpack B at some races. The gap in talent from the rest of the field when both were on , was just amazing. Jett has the super smooth Windham style but cranked up a notch. I do not think we have seen Jett's limits yet. So maybe he might have been faster than those guys back then. I think its a little early to say stuff like that though. If Eli and Chase were both out there and Jett was still doing the same thing, then maybe.
I think that we got to see RC and James at their highest levels, RC wanted to not just win by a few seconds, he wanted to win by as big of a gap as he could. Jett seems to prefer to ride just fast enough to have a small gap and not care to win by more than needed. If he has a 3 second gap and feels like he is not even close to the edge, he may feel like that is safer than going faster and pulling a bigger gap. He might feel like there is less chance he will make a mistake at that speed than if he rides faster to get the little extra gap that some people are saying would help him incase he made a small mistake. He really seems like something special. Beating Kenny like he did goes more towards showing that Jett is really that good. Kenny has shown he can still win and is most likely in great shape and not worn down from the grind that has kept him from doing well outdoors. Getting ready for WSX , Who knows ,Kenny may have been faster than Chase and Eli if they were there too.
He was.
No, But you’re close. This outdoor series is cake. SX next year will be different obviously with guys healthy and SX being the tougher discipline that America breeds for. But Jett has brought out the haters meowing.
🫵🏼🤣
I guess it’s all how you view it!
Amen. This kid is about as close to the perfect specimen as it gets. Gifted, smart, humble but confident, appreciative and thankful. If he could play guitar and sing...he'd own the world.

It was a very tough track and Jett cruised to two Moto wins. And I mean he literally cruised, I'm sure everyone saw him standing throughout that long rutted corner in Moto 2 looking like he was on a parade lap. If Jett actually had any real challenge for this championship we might have seen him actually push a little.
