As mention above. Jap 350 would bring the house down, especially a Yamaha. But an electric start 300 YZ 2 stroke would send shock waves and would sell with MSRP at 10k ish with out a blink!!!

Is there anyone posting on this thread who actually believes that if you rode a 2024 KX450, a 2024 RMZ450, a 2024 Beta 450, and a 2023 Stark Varg; slowly through the pits of your local track, the biggest reaction WOULDN'T be for the Varg?
The Triumph is the only other bike that could compete, even remotely, in terms of making a "splash." Trouble is, it's a 250, not a 450, whereas the Varg is both and neither.

Biggest reaction because no one will want to pit by you and listen to your 5,000watt generator all day.
You just have to know the trick. When racing hare scrambles with a dead engine start I would press the start button 30 seconds before my row went. Press it halfway and it primes the fuel pump, so it fires up much faster. My KTM 350 still fires up faster, but it was a big improvement over just trying to start it without priming.
Just think if Suzuki was the one to come out with a modern 350 with electric start.
It would really make sense. If you are that far behind, not just in technology but in market share the path of least resistance would be to "go where they aint."

Heck, I saw leftover '22 models listed at $5500 (plus freight/tax) after rebates a few months ago.
The current market may exert considerable downward pricing on new bikes.
That may be case in some areas. I’d bet in my neck of the woods, Houston area dealers will try to get above MSRP on some 2024 models as they come out. Many of the dirt bike buyer in the big burbs around Houston are refinery/chem plant workers and most get paid well. I feel like the dealers take advantage of that but that’s just my take.
The market is kind of weird right now. Some dealers are dumping product, others not so much.ultimately all of those non current units with rebates will sell out.With the cost of materials increase ,bike prices could get a big bump.
