Jett’s rival? Anyone?

MC had RC, RC had JS and Reed, JS had Reed, RV had RD, RD had ET, ET had Chase. Other than Chase, who else do you see in a few years rivaling Jett? I do see potential in Deegan, he does keep progressing, but I really don’t see anyone else down the pipeline challenging Jett. I really hope Chase can at least keep it interesting.

Deegan lol

Obviously it will be Chase. Similar age, speed, style, same team, both alpha types

Tomac or Fernandez. Possibly Danger in a few years if he continues to progress at the pace he has been. No one else really has the “it” factor.

I’m just glad Chase was there to single handedly save every American citizen from embarrassment. Poor euros. Dylon tried his hardest.

What % of time do you guys think that Hunter has laid down faster laps than Jett on the practice track?  I am gonna take a wild guess and say 12% of the time.

It looks like its gonna be a "boring" 11 rounds of MX, when only 2 guys  have the speed.

Outside of Sexton and maybe Webb in sx. I think Deegan maybe the only other one. I know very very little about Deegan outside of watching the races. I could I be way off base here. Watching him race I get the idea that he is not intimidated by anyone at anytime. I think it will take that to beat Jett. Deegan will need to find more raw speed tho.

I think Jeffrey Herlings would be a great rival for Jett Lawrence and he should tell KTM, either let me race the 2024 AMA 450 National Championship or I'm going to offer my services to Star Yamaha.  Probably won't happen, but if he was to team up with Chase Sexton at KTM, it would be a huge dose of adrenaline to this AMA series.   I'm not sure it's a good time for Chase Sexton to leave Honda though, they seem to be peaking at the moment.

Looking at guys under him, as of right now, I’m not seeing anyone near that level. Not yet. He will of course have Chase for at least 4 years or so and they’ll have some great battles.

Off the top of my head, Jett, Carmichael, and Villopoto are the only ones to ever sweep their first ever 450 MX race. Those other two had okay careers.

Jett will probably win this title which instantly makes him an all time great.

don’t think sexton had the mental makeup to push him. It will basically be whether ferrandis can get to form and stay healthy for 5 months.

the guy can be a beast.

I was comparing Jett and chase. Both have 5+ years ahead of them, hence the potential for a rivalry

5/28/2023 4:51pm

Jett has dominated every competitor who lined up against him for the last 3 years. Kitchen and Hampshire are the only 2 to ever give him a run for his money and we see how that worked out in the end.

Chase might give him some competition this season but I’m betting on Jett to continue to dominate.

He’s just that good.

Justin Cooper had him outdoors in 2021. One crash and an injured wrist (?) changed that.

Jett and Chase aren’t “that” far off in age. They’re both young and have a lot of good years left in them.

Yea. And Jett had j-coop covered till he got crossed by swoll at Southwick giving him a terrible day.

Everyone can make an excuse.

Herlings would be a 8 times mxgp champion except that 1 crash.....

And how bad was his injury really??

The very next round moto 1 he won it.

Then the round after that he won moto 1 aswell.

So he won 2 out the the 3 motos after his crash. But lost to an injury???

Excuses.

Try maybe last 2 years, he didn’t dominate anybody his rookie year other than the ground.

One race on an overgrown sx track, that's his favorite track, and everyone is giving him the title already

True. In his first full season (2020) he got a single podium in SX (3rd) and a single podium in MX (1st).

Jett has stated (repeatedly over many seasons) that he doesn't like Pala.
