Even if I barcia-rev my ice, you slow-asses still don't get out of the way. With silence, I just tell you get TF out of the way!

Not sure I understand the concern over no sound. BMX, mountain bike and road cyclist race with no sound. Yeah you would need to be aware of your surroundings, but can’t see the need for “fake” engine noises

I can never tell which side or where Yamahas are when they are behind me. The noise saturates my ability process it.

None of which are riding a loud ass four stroke that they can't hear anything over.

in the Dakar Rally, they had this system called " sentinel " where LED lights and a buzzer would go off when a faster concurrent is about to get on your behind and you are a hindrance.

Some modern cars have side mirrors that warn you of proximity of another car ( blind spot or because modern drivers lack the awareness skills )

I could see the implementation of LED lights on the bars on each side so you would know someone is diving on your inside. The Vargs could communicate to each other. But the Gas bikes.. errr not.

It's a bit videogame, but if it is a solution that avoids unnecessary collisions, kinda electronic blue flag. Faster lad incoming, keep your lane or move out.

There's always the option of yelling at them. See the onboard videos of Graham Jarvis and others... the horn or some sort of acoustic mean, resonance can with a metal straw into the spokes, etc..

Can someone start a Stark bashing and dick measuring thread elsewhere and leave this one for "reviews" on the Stark.

Sick os scrolling through so much utter bullshit just to read comments from the OP about his Stark.

They may need to introduce an electric only class.

Word in the industry is that the chain companies are working on making much louder E chains.

Even though the bikes are quiet, there's still usually an accepted courtesy in mountain biking that when you come up behind someone you give them an "on your left/right" as a heads up. Same thing if you're on a shared walking/biking trail. Maybe that becomes more common on a moto track as more E-bikes start showing up.

This.

The problem isn't going to be that e-bikes are quiet; it 's going to be that ICE engines are loud, and will drown out any sound the e-bike is making, rendering them unnoticeable. In MTB racing, all the bikes are quiet, so you can hear them or hear the rider when he calls out. That will be compromised in a mixed e-bike/ICE setting.

I was in a race once wherein a really fast rider was on a dual sport. He got waxed on the start but made his way through the pack eventually. He was using his blinkers and horn for full effect. It was hilarious and maddening at the same time! I heard his horn for a few turns before he finally got me. Maybe we should just put a horn on the Varg?

The 450 class is already an open class basically.  May the best rider and bike win.  Factory bikes are already detuned from max HP, so that's a non issue.  It's all about usable power.....put Sexton on a electric bike with the right chassis and he will be significantly faster.

Hahaha, that is one of my favorite clips. If ever there was a vid that made the claim "it's the rider, not the bike" , Ivan proved it there.

Many passes are made braking into a corner when the motor is nearly silent; that is where you can clutch pass (with an ICE bike) or yell at the rider ahead if you feel the need to send a message. Yelling at someone on a Stark would be particularly effective because it is "more silent" than an ICE bike going into a turn.

Otherwise earn the pass the usual way by being faster and taking another line. Skillz!

ML has been seen in several of the videos. So obviously he's following along this "story". I'm curious as to why Vital has made no coverage of this? They did the introductory blitz when the bike was announced, but then it's been crickets ever since. Advertisers leaning on him too much? Even as simple as posting some of Bryan's videos in their library or doing an interview with Bryan or taking 10m to sorta look over the bike and post his thoughts. Just interesting to observe, I guess. "Biggest story" in many years and our moto media isn't talking about the bike, even when standing right next to it.

That is kind of my big question mark. If I cant hear it, it isn't there. I hardly ever look back. I'm no pro but if I get passed on a practice days it's not like the doors are blown off.. I just hold my lines and sweep across the track a little less. This is prompted by hearing the person though. I could totally see someone jumping completely across the track because they think they're alone and it's basically beyblades in real life at that point. idk. I feel like the fake noise thing is totally ridiculous but maybe kind of safe in the end? People are poor where I live so I'm not worried about it lmao.

Have you ever heard a device called vehicle horn?

One of my riding buddies is riding a Husky enduro bike on motocross tracks and is constantly using horn to signal slower riders to get out his way. Easy fix for the problem

PS. I usually ride with ear plugs in my ears so I don't hear other bike's on the track anyway. I wish I had used them when I was younger because constant ringing in your ears is not fun at all...

Vid could also just be a simulcrum of the 370 lb Stark with a 13 kWh battery- ie enough to do a full 30 plus 2 with a red flag restart on a rough day.Wink

At this point I’m fairly convinced you don’t even ride. The way you post suggests you spend all your time on /pol/, non moto, and truth social

I ran an air horn at a couple of off road races. It worked well when I was passing fast guys who weren't in my class.

It seemed to scare the shit out of slower guys.

I have no desire to make someone crash, or drive off the track, but that's what was happening.

I  was blowing an air horn, and sometimes dudes were leaving the track.

Not my intention.
