Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
No I seen it. I also seen that even a lot of the teams don’t really care about the championship as there were what like 12 regulars show up for that race in each class. Hard to say mxgp is better when teams don’t go. But I do love me some mxgp. Like I said they are all close to each other. But sx is still the premier series
I used to love it in the '80s. As much as I try to watch it I just can't and don't understand how people enjoy it. IMHO it sucks ass.
Apples and oranges. Follow the money. The AMA series has the money and support. This is the reason why so many Europeans want to race in the US.
MXGP in my opinion is a more interesting series though. The tracks, the length of the season, world travel, diverse nationalities of the riders/fans. Etc
The dream would be to combine the two. Globally expand the sport = dirt bikes win
MXGP is not doing all that well this year either by the way! Almost never a full gate of 450s and as far as I know they still do not pay the riders a purse. I have been a fan of the MXGP and paying to watch it for about 10 years now and I am not biased. I think both the US Nationals and MXGP better change what they are doing or things are about to get real!

I don't have an opinion on which series is superior, they both have incredible athletes competing.. but here are a couple highlights from this weekend to show what kind of track these guys were up against. Looks intense!
Cant imagine having to ride that track, let alone ride it fast.
Jago Geerts gopro footage
Calvin Vlaanderen in a mega rut
Sorry for the justification issue.. not sure what's causing it.
If done right, a race outside of a hotel would be so badass (in my opinion)
You are fishing with stink bait.
You can't compare Supercross to MXGP - they are two different sports.
Lets compare apples to apples, AMA outdoor national versus MXGP, shall we?
Both series have their good and bad points -
Track size and track prep are better in America than in Europe.
The GP experience is FAR better in Europe than in America - the GP guys know how to put on a great event. Food, drink and atmosphere is so much better at an MXGP event (except for Red Bud).
AMA pays prize money to the riders - GP's don't pay shit - its shameful.
GP's are far better with infrastructure, rider control, technical inspection and spectator experience - this category is not even close. AMA needs to step it up by a lot.
GP spectators are more knowledgable than most AMA spectators - they also bring horns and flags and don't steal banners or beg riders for their gear.
AMA pro racers are faster as a group as compared to GP racers when the tracks are neutral.
down vote away, Bitches...
To be honest, that race it was nice to be able to go in the lobby and watch the race on both tv and live. But, the OP wanted to bring up one track that is more natural, and make a bold claim, he needs to understand that they aren’t all that good. Same with sx and outdoor nationals.
The hoops as in find some odd timed cbs sports broadcast or stream to watch for free and the price because it’s more than double the price of watching both American series on peacock if you suspend your subscription in the off season. I can watch both SX and MX for $40 and have access to premier league, baseball, tennis, and my wife can watch whatever tv shows or movies they have.
Wanna watch mxgp? Either spend significantly more than any other streaming package for one product or jump through a bunch of hoops to find a broadcast for free. Those are the options. Anyone saying “oh, but the content quality is so much better than peacock” well I’d damn well hope so for double the price for one type of content.
Both series have their positives and negatives. I like that there is more money to be made for riders in the USA, even when you're 12-20th place. In the GPs that is an whole other story..
It may be double for those in the US, not for everyone else. Think yourself privileged.
The US guys are getting a taste of what it's like watching AMA SX/MX as an international fan.
It might cost $40 to watch the US series for Americans, but it costs a lot more for the rest of the world.
Here's what it costs to watch SuperMotocross as an international fan. With the exchange rate, I paid $245 CDN.
It's the same exact broadcast that people are paying $40 for.
Imagine if the top guys in the US were afraid to race Supercross and just focused on outdoor racing for 12 months. It would be a different story, but props to Roczen, Marv, Dylan, etc. that came to the states to race with the big boys. They know where the money and top competition is. No one cares about a bunch of guys racing vet tracks overseas.
That’s exactly what I’m talking about. Can’t remember exactly, but it was over $200 Aussie dollars too. Then when you see Americans complaining here, you can only laugh and quietly shed a tear 😂
Watching the highlights of the first motos and the complete second moto on CBSsports is good for me as far as the GPs go these days . I'd never watch all of that content live with the difference in time and everything anyway .
You are the real master of trash talk, chapeau!
This the only sensible reply so far well done !
AMA Sx is kind of a paradox for dirt bike racing globally, yes it’s been the most successful as far as a business, but it’s also self limiting.
I don’t think AMA sx should go away, but I think for the sport of off road racing to grow to new levels we need a US world champion again, the closest thing to that in any recognised series is MXGP.
With a US elite competing no doubt we could have 2 American GP’s, just more growth for the sport generally.
Supercross is a bit of the fastfood of motorcross quite nice so now and then but it's not real food ...supercross is a fun show but not really a sport.....ama pro nationals and mxgp those are the one and only championship in motorcross....
Pit Row
There was actually a lot of sensible replies you just ignored them because they didn't fit your narrative.
MXGP is pretty awesome, but what about the fly away rounds that have like 10 legit riders show up and they race on some shit track that isn't even on par with most local tracks in the US?
Can you get back to us after one of those about "setting the standard" ?
The standard for dirt bike racing is in America, period, that's why 9 out of 10 times the top guys from Europe do everything they can to come race here.
I think 9 out of 10 is a bit of a stretch.
The flyaway races in Timbuktu and the likes are under represented purely on cost, most of these teams don't have the budget from their sponsors to compete in far flung countries, MXGP has a dream of replicating MotoGP or even F1, but the money isn't really there for the smaller teams. I bet loads were relieved when the Vietnam round was changed to Maggiora.
With SuperMotocross now calling themselves a "World Championship", I think the FIM and SMX need to come together and have 4 mixed (joint) races with points paid per finish as if it was a single series. 2 races in the US and 2 wherever the FIM wants them. Who wouldn't go to those races if they could? The schedule wouldn't be difficult to coordinate and there would be lots of $$ to be made.
I can't believe I'm getting involved but I think we need to point out that there's what, 3 or 4 flyaway races? Yes they can struggle to fill the gate at those but the tracks weren't THAT bad (Maybe I'm easily pleased but if there's dirt, jumps, bumps and ruts that's mx enough for me) but there's 15 or 16 other 'real' tracks in incredible locations some steeped in mx history.. So it seems a little silly to point at a very small representation as proof for the rest..
I watch and enjoy both mx series.. sx is fine and entertaining but I don't really care about it
Yes exactly, some on here seem to really like to focus on the small negatives, rather then appreciate the series as a whole.
These tracks are in a lot of locations that the local population will never get to race an MX bike.
You're the one who spouted off like the last round in France is comparable to every round of the series. Some of us are just pointing out that every round isn't as epic as the one you used as an example.
Fact of the matter is....several of them are actually quite pathetic for a series that should have "World Championship Standards"
But but but it has the word world in it. Lol. Like. Wsx. He must know more than the euro dudes that came to race sx mx. In the usa. Lol.
I have definitely become a huge fan of MXGP this season. There have been some amazing battles and Paul Malin is fantastic. But, I think all three series have their place and I get equally excited for all of them. Moto is just badass
That’s 20% of the series. Let me take 20% of your bank account and tell you to ignore it. If the mxgp is so great, then why is it year after year multiple races get canceled? Again, I’m involved with mxgp quite a bit, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite things to watch. But at the end of the day, ama sx is the premier race series.
Soaring Eagle Casino / Red Bud's Edge of Summer event was always a pretty epic time - first one sure was memorable! haha that track was build in a grass field? that's basically a parking lot.
Oor let me just look at 20% of your bank account and say you're poorer than you are.. Nowhere in my post did I put one above the other! I'm not backing up the OP's statement!
The word premier means different things to different people in this context! Me personally, I would rather stand on a MXGP podium than a SX podium but that doesn't mean I don't understand that SX gets more attention and money, but attention and money doesn't mean premiere to me I understand it does to others.. I'm not right but I'm not wrong either no matter how much you wanna talk like you're making the rules
Post a reply to: I’m sorry but MXGP sets the standard for off road bike racing
