That’s awesome! Congrats… bikes are not selling like they were 1-2 years ago.
That sounds like a pretty damn good deal to me! I bought a brand new 2023 YZ450F one week ago today and walked out the door for MSRP @ $9900.00 and felt good about it after the ridiculous insanity we’ve witnessed over the last 2+ years! Congrats on that frickin’ sweet KaTooM! There’s just nothing like “new bike day!” ENJOY it Buddy!
(Not to mention what do my little eye spy there in the very left edge of the new bike pic? Close examination of the photo reveals a pail of VP110 & what appears to be a YZ too??!)
You Sir, are definitely doing life right! Haha 😝 😎 👍❗️
Nice!
I was set on getting a 24 350 SXF but i think i might call around for a 23 first … if anyone knows of any available in Utah or SOCAL please let me know!

I paid $9500 OTD for my ‘23 Sxf350 a few months ago
They had one I believe. Can’t remember but maybe it was $500 more or something.
The rebate on the ‘23 KX450s just went up to $2000.
Great deal and great bike had a buddy just pick up a 23 450sxf for 8900 old. Stipulation was no trade ins though. Might get in on the savings
Great bike,great price!
Gave $8264 OTD on my ‘23 450 SX-F about a month ago
This thread makes me smile in knowing that so many stealerships were screwing people the last few years during Covid (As well as the individual market). Love seeing good deals out there to be had!
Lack of product and high demand = retail pricing
Not that difficult to understand....
Got a great deal on a 23 85 a couple weeks ago.
I bought a 23 Gas Gas 300EX for $8k out the door last week. We went back today and my son Joe bought a 23 KTM 250SX for $8.5k.
I don’t think anyone has an issue with dealerships asking MSRP…I don’t think thats the problem Tbones is referring too?!
I just purchased a 2023 YZ450 and MSRP is what I paid OTD, no freight & Prep or any of the other BS “fees” they sometimes conjure up, and I don’t have any heartburn paying the Manufacturer’s suggest list price! What I actually DO have a problem with are these Ass-Hat “Stealerships” as he called them, significantly marking up above MSRP just because supply/demand is out of balance!
I actually drove out to Maryland in March to visit my son & his family and on the way there I called EVERY Yamaha shop along our route from Okla to Maryland hoping to find a 2023 in stock. As expected EVERY dealer said “Sorry, our 23’s were gone before the truck dropped em off!”…except for one crappy place that shall remain nameless but would definitely qualify as a “Stealership”! When I learned they had one 2023 YZ450 in stock, I asked whats the OTD price and this A-hole sales prick quoted $13,500.00!!? When I asked how the flip is a &9899.00 MSRP cost $13,500.00 and this shyster asshat actually said “well MSRP plus several of the usual “fees” that we hear then said PLUS the $2000.00 “we have it and you want it fee”! I said well I see now why you are the only shop on the entire east end of the country with one on the floor and you should feel free to cram it in your cramhole!
Its always nice when the manufacturers offer rebates and we consumers can catch a break, but dealers asking well ABOVE MSRP just makes them greedy shysters…
Damn straight! Well said. What comes around, goes around. I try to make our marketing morons in our company understand this. Sometimes it sinks in, most of the time it doesn't. Fortunately, I'll be able to retire in a few years and won't have to worry about it. They can learn all the lessons they need to learn the old fashion way.
I'm not in the market but saw KTMWorld has some really good deals. NW Georgia area for anyone looking
They’re selling my same bike new for less than I have it listed used.. I’m getting demolished lol
Pit Row
Correct. This is the same effect others are calling "stealerships" influence. As soon as they are reducing their margins, it lowers the used market. The same is happening in bicycles. Some of you that think dealers charging over MSRP when supply is low even during Covid as "stealing" clearly do not understand basic business.
In addition, to they guy that said he paid "MSRP" out the door, the dealer just discounted the freight and absorbed the labor to build the bike, so you actually paid less than MSRP by around $1000 especially if they didn't charge a doc fee also. Manufacturers charge the dealers shipping.....not to mention labor to build a bike and process all the paperwork is not free.
I think I am “the guy” that said he paid MSRP and just doesn’t understand how basic business works… except the problem is I actually WORK at AJAX Motorsports in Okc as a part time prep mechanic for ten years now, with my primary responsibilities being unloading new units off the delivery trucks, assembling, prepping and servicing new units and completing inspections on new units once sold…(the two collages above are just a sampling of the new bikes and utility units I happened to have in my phone at the minute…and certainly its possible that I coulda googled “new units being assembled” so I guess you’ll have to give the benefit of doubt that I’m NOT blowing smoke up anyone’s tailpipe! 😝)
Some dealerships pass misc fees onto the consumer and some don’t. It’s up to the consumer to decide what they’ll put up with or what fees they’re willing to pay…I could have bought a KTM, GASGAS or HUSKY for less than I just paid BUT I absolutely WANTED a 2023 YZ450F, (I am a YAMAHA guy!) and I was willing to spend whatever it took to get one…and if the dealership had said MSRP plus freight/prep, I woulda paid it because I wanted the YZ!
BUT a shyster dealership that would actually tell a potential customer on the phone about the “we got it & you want it” fee is nothing more than unethical business practice specifically intended to GOUGE potential customers, and exactly why they are the only shop east of the Mississippi river with a 2023 YZ450 still in stock!
Sehorn Yamaha in Shawnee Okla is a long standing reputable dealership. Mack, (my salesman!) told me they would make $550 on my purchase, (then went a step further and PROVED it by showing me their dealer documentation/same stuff I see at AJAX). They just choose to treat their customers fairly/ethically and their standard practice is manufacturer’s MSRP… thats why I have bought YZ’s from them all the way back to the 80’s… 😎 👍❗️
(AND it sucks that the pendulum is now swinging the other way! This market is definitely hurting my ability to sell my older 450 now too!)
You were not the one I am referring to that doesn't understand how business works......however a mechanic likely doesn't ever see a P&L or understand cost of goods sold vs expense and margins etc. I was referencing you for MSRP and stealership guy in the same response. Currently, someone asking over MSRP is not unethical though, but it is stupid because it's 100% a buyers market right now and will be for quite some time. It's actually never unethical because a dirt bike is a luxury item, not a staple of life. The great part about capitalism is you to get choose who to business with and you clearly have a dealer you trust and continue to buy bikes from....and that's great.
If you’ve been buying bikes from them for 40 years I can see some special treatment. I bet they charge fees to a regular Joe walking in for a new bike.
Yes sir, I will concur! Dealerships are free to ask whatever price they feel like they should ask, and associated fees can be/are a part of the purchase process.
It’s up to the consumer to decide what they are willing to spend beyond the manufacturers published MSRP…and Buyer beware!
I’m thankful I got my bike for the price I paid, and I paid what I had to pay to get the exact luxury item that I wanted!
For me the “we got it and you want it” fee was an insult and I wasn’t gonna pay it! (Someone with way deeper pockets than I have might be fine with it…and power to them!)
There is another dealership here in Okc (I’ll let them remain nameless as well!) with an AWFUL reputation and they often have 2, 3 even 4 year old NEW models still on their floor because they also subscribe to the “we got it, you want it” business model too! I can’t tell you how many customers come into AJAX with horror stories from this dealership that are eerily similar to my phone call with the east coast dealer! 😎 👍❗️
And… you very well could be right Soggy!? I am thankful to have not one but two dealerships that I have a good long standing customer rapport with and I honestly can’t speak to what someone driving past the shop might have been quoted? But for what its worth AJAX Motorsports and Sehorn Yamaha both have good reputations with the guys I cross paths with at the MX tracks or trailhead etc! 👍❗️
I own a business and have for over a decade. I know plenty about business. People that take advantage of other people during difficult times just because they can are not the type of people/company I want to do business with. We don't run our business that way and we have many loyal clients that have been with us for many years and thus are extremely loyal. I know that's a new concept for some people to wrap their heads around. That's why I butt heads with our new young marketing kids. Again, lessons they'll learn on their own once I'm gone and not calling the shots at the end of the day.
Heck, there’s still new ‘22 and ‘21 model’s sitting on showrooms collecting dust.
This sounds incredible.
How can there be a rebate on something that historically manufactures have claimed there is almost no profit to be made, period? And, $2,000, wow.
Clearly manufacturer to buyer but, what is the manufacturer giving to the dealer? Good luck.
I like to see people getting a decent deal. For the last few years there haven’t been many deals to be had. Best I can tell the deals I see are Austrian or Kawasaki. Not sure many Yamaha or Honda deals are out there, at least what I see. I wish I’d have held off on the 23 Honda R I bought back back in the fall. There were some deals on GasGas in my area a month or two back. I could have saved a grand or two and may have been a better fit for me being a senior rider.
Has anyone mentioned that these dealers aren't lowering their prices because they just want to. There are incentives from KTM to the dealers so they can pass on the savings.
How about one of you come buy this sweet 350 lol
