I know I said this for SX, but it didn't work out. Ty has been training for outdoors about 3 months solid on Kawasaki's. He is fast, fit and strong. Lap times at Pala this week were on par with guys that will be battling for the podium. Lightweight and gets good starts, and with the 250 line up, that's even more important than ever.
Good news!
Been looking forward to watching him ride for far to long.
Every time his name gets brought up I have to say that he has shown he has incredible speed and talent, but I’m getting really tired of keeping my eye on him, watching him disappear from whatever series he’s participating in, and then waiting for an Instagram post months later about why he didn’t keep racing.
He looked great in the last video he posted, and like I said has tremendous speed, but I feel like I’ve seen this movie before. I hope he shows up to every single round and puts in some strong finishes.
I spent a couple weeks out there in late March/early April and he was putting in the work and going way fast. I hope it translates.
I really hope he just keeps racing every round and builds. Show that he can be in it all year. Everyone already knows he can rip. This is the question they need answered.
He is really fun to watch riding on an outdoor track. Not every fast ride is that way. Hoping he can put together a solid series.

Kids looks fast on the Kawi, hopefully he's in the top 10 but it ain't gonna be easy.
I really wish someone would give him a GP ride.
I didn't know that was him at Pala this week. He was definitely on it
Being he is from Texas now hell yeah. The kid can rail for sure and should battle for top 10's.
Will he make it first round with team he is now running..
Will Jake be racing nationals too? He's no slouch either.
Not on a team. Has a few moto brands helping him out. Big announcement coming next week on an outside industry sponsor...
Cautiously optimistic, but we’ve seen this show so many times. Let’s hope an MX-only effort where he’s the boss yields great results for him!
Keep an eye on him for when exits the series for unknown reasons…..he hasn’t completed a series ever. Doubtful this will be any different
Over or under 5.5 rounds completed?
I think the Masterpool ship has sailed unless he can get the business side of racing under control.
Love to have him be part of the show. Bringing in an outside sponsor would be awesome as well.
One race in and already switching classes…..lmao! Guess he didn’t turn the heads he thought he would in the 250s
Pit Row
If he’s trying to make money it’s the obvious choice. Way easier to get a 450 top 10 than 250 right now
Ty's got top 10 speed all day long in the 250 class why not ride the depleted 450 class where the payout is better and the bikes last longer and cost WAY less to build/maintain since he's doing his own program. It's not the 70's-2010's anymore. Good riders can build a good program and fight for top 10-5th on their own equipment if their good enough to begin with.
100% Smart decision.
250’s are always a money pit that doesn’t pay as well.
450 always pays a LOT better and they simply do not cost as much to build a competitive race bike.
Is the switch to 450’s because of a depleted class and chance to make more money like suggested?
if so, what has changed since round 1? All the same 450 guys are still out round 1 - Chase is 1 guy new that’s out and not for the whole season anyway.
450’s are still cheaper than 250’s before round 1.
seems like all the reasons to run 450s are the same at the beginning of the series as they are after the first round. What makes a guy sign up for 250’s then in the first place? Does he ride his 250 better than the 450 or have preference there. Maybe it’s easier to get sponsors for 250 bikes.
I agree on the 450 route. Pipe, suspension, and some ECU work and he would be fine. I noticed him a couple times watching Pala with some flash. First part of the puzzle is showing up and finishing .
He may get close to a top 5 on 450s. He'll never get that on a privateer 250. Jeremy Martin is struggling to get towards the top 5 on a club bike.
Factories just have too much of an advantage in the 250s. No matter the season.
I’m honestly surprised guys that are on the bubble like Masterpool ever ride 250s.
At that level, those bikes are getting absolutely thrashed every weekend just trying to get in the top 10 and they’re paying out of pocket (I would guess) to maintain them
It takes very deep pockets to race a competitive 250 week after week.
I dont know why privateers do not automatically jump on a 450 instead of draining their bank accounts.
Jmarts issue wasn't the bike last week. Those club bikes are plenty fast enough to win races and overalls all year. The gap between star and club is not nearly as big as you would think anymore.
I don't buy it. Indoors, the bike can win. Outdoors is a different beast. Jmart had to work to the very last lap in qualifying today to crack the top 10. That isn't on him. He didn't lose that much speed in two years in what is his most naturally talented discipline.
This isn't on Club. This is on the unrivaled budgets and support channels that the factory teams have.
He went 14-23 last week so he didn’t have top 10 speed. My thoughts are he wasn’t going to do as well as he thought so he bailed on it. This whole post was about how well and prepared he was to do well this season in the 250s……..not the case anymore after one race
Not sure which lap it was but Masterpool must have gotten a bad start and was in 15th. Final lap and he is up to 7th.
