I don’t get the logic of lappers have always been a part of racing so deal with it. Wouldn’t the racing be better if there wasn’t lappers? I get no enjoyment from watching a lead battle that gets decided because a lapper didn’t get out of the way, or tried to race them cause he didn’t know who it was.

Mike Pelletier’s explanation was quite clear. And the video repeatedly showed Jett crossing the gate, after he knocked it down, ahead of everyone else. Case closed. Yes, I also think the penalty exceeds the crime, but that’s a completely different discussion. The screenshot above half way down the start straight is completely irrelevant. The rule violation had already taken place.

AC is an excellent individual. Best podcaster by far and also not stuck in the 1950s. Elements of the American motocross community have not been covering themselves in glory lately...and people wonder why the general public thinks the sport is for rednecks and hicks. People like AC show that the sport is far more than that.
