Steve on MOTO 60 Show said Vohland to Star and Kitchen to PC, who takes the ride?

I can't begin to tell you how badly I have been hoping for Vohland to land at Star
You dislike him?
Negative, I feel like that team is a better overall environment for success and guys perform better there,
If this is true A. I really hope the environment at star helps Vohland put it all together.
and B. What kind of offer must PC have made to get kitchen to jump?!?

What I was thinking...
Agreed.
If I had a spot at Star on a 250, there’s no way I’d willingly leave it. The one caveat is that I wonder what’s it’s like to try to race out of their pits with all of the “danger boy” side show going on.
Yeah that’s a good point.
If that happens, I sure hope Vohland can adapt to the program and shine. Star definitely has a winning formula, but that same formula isn’t perfect for everyone.
I'm on the other side of the isle with the Vohland move--KTM has been ultra patient with him, Star has zero patience with their riders. I think he's going into the absolute worst position for a young rider; going from what appears to be a "managable" amount of pressure to an full-on pressure cooker to win, period. Star appears from the outside to chew these kids up and spit them out, then roll in the next ones.
I'm surprised Kitchen didn't take the KTM deal. I would think there's more money to be made there seeing as he could do his own gear deal.
The bike can win races.
Who's currently available that could fill that seat? Is Beaumer moving up?
Steve made mention Jo was leaving Mitch. May he goes to Ktm?
All new YZ250F in 2024. Maybe it won't continue to be the massive powerhouse it has been, or at least there might be teething issues getting it sorted out.
Shimoda to Honda, believe his dad or someone works there
He's been linked to HRC Honda.
Jorge prado to ktm.......
Lopes to KTM...
So what riders have moved on from Star Yamaha to perform better with another team? I’m not saying it has never happened, but I can’t remember when it did.
When is the last the KTM 250 bike/program won races under the production rule?
Pit Row
That’s cool if true.
KTM/Husky/GasGas. All on the same platform, and they've won races last year.
Just need better riders.
Kitchen is a quiet, hard working, technically sound rider that avoids the drama and has the speed to win
As far as I know, that checks all of Mitches boxes…
Really looking forward to this combo
Completely different team structures though. The KTM rider has been on an island with no teammates to help him develop the bike. Also, wasn’t Gas Gas on the previous generation bike, or did the switch to the current KTM combo for 2023?
So my memory was correct. The KTM bike/program hasn’t proved to be a winning combination in recent memory.
Your memory is only correct to suit your specific thought. Overall, you wrong bra.
You're talking about a much smaller pool though than other teams. KTM has only had a handful over riders under that actual factory semi over the coarse of 10 years. Statistically they're probably doing better than most teams are.
Who are the most recent 250 KTM riders under the actual factory semi? Am I missing anyone?
Vohland
Vialle
I guess Pettis can count
Justin Hill who did win a race
Marvin who did win a races and SX regional championship
Roczen who did win races and a SX regional championship
Dean Ferris
Sounds like Honda.
But I really would like to see Shimoda on KTM, as weird as it sounds putting the only Japanese rider on an Austrian bike. His style has always seemed kind of Dungey-esque to me. Sneaky fast but not too flashy. He seems consistent, too.
He also seems like he’s got a demeanor that would gel with Decoster. Most guys in the 250 class seem high energy and a little anxious, which leads me to believe they’d get thrown off by Decoster’s candor and demanding expectations. Shimoda on the other hand is calm and thoughtful.
Seems like an ideal fit, but maybe not ripe until Jo graduates to 450s.
Like the thought process regarding Shimoda. Is RD still the talent scout at KTM or is Ian more involved at this point?
Star is going to be a tough place to be a 250 rider for a year or two- the Deegan show is going to steal the limelight every single day.
Since the production rule went into affect in 1985, you have to add Kelly Smith and Grant Langston to this list. What about Ryno, did he have some wins on the KTM 250?
Thought this the other day. With 1000s of fans now flooding the Star semi, it must be tough coming out of that semi and trying to warm up and do your thing before the race with everyone yelling and screaming for Deegan. It seems like it has become a Deegan circus and I would not be shocked if riders don't want to deal with that anymore.
