Amazed the medical crew let him up. Serious risk on a spinal injury on that crash. Seeing AC’s wheel just nail him made me sick, nothing AC could do about it.

i agree, big hit to helmet and back. maybe they didnt see what we saw on tv. cant wait to hear he's ok. tough sport!

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but as I have watched and rewatched that crash I have a hard time understanding why Adam did not see Cooper there and shut off. I really want to believe there was nothing Adam could do (as Ricky and James said on broadcast) but I do feel like he could have just shut off (with heat race consequences) to avoid hitting a fallen rider.  I really like Adam and I know there was no malice towards Cooper. However, Adam powered through the corner and he had to see Cooper there; just doesn't make sense. His front end even pushed under power into Cooper and then his rear end accelerated over Coopers back.

If this were Friese or Barcia hitting Cooper there would be pitchforks out for either of them.

Came here to say this. Nothing against Adam but ppl are sofaking partisan and can't look at the situation objectively. He was full gas. I don't get it. Obviously not intentional, but I mean, was he expecting the rut to pass to the inside of coop? Was he looking down? Just strange.

That was one of the hardest things I've had to watch in a while. Hope to see Coop back out there in the future. Scary what that looks like for him right now. Head/neck injury sufferer myself, hope he can make a full recovery.

It's clear that you've no racing experience, but that's fine as, of course, you know better than RC and JS.

It looked like the chinbar of his helmet hit his collarbone very hard.

Both the hit and the aftermath inside the stadium were tough to watch.

Very sad to see Webb go down like that. That was gut wrenching to watch, hoping he can bounce back

SX is better with Webb racing

I think there's this thing by the left handlegrip called a clutch? Not Shure what it does but I think it might of helped some.

I do know In drivers Ed they told us to look where we wanted to go, ya know?

He's a Champion no matter what happened today.

I continue to pray the injury isn't really bad.

That guy was his dad, I didn't know that was coop's dad until someone on the broadcast mentioned it.

I figured it was.     Goes to show, no matter how old/self established you are, sometimes you just need you parents.

Afterward we checked in with Roger DeCoster, who informed us Webb had sustained a big concussion, and that he was going to be undergoing scans on his neck to ensure there wasn’t any damage. This spells the end of Webb’s season, and his quest for a third 450SX championship.

Thanks for sharing this.

Big enough concussion...he may need to retire.   Man, I really hope not.    Coop said in an interview recently, he's got at least 3 more years in him.

If you watch it frame by frame it’s obvious all AC had to do was calculate that Webbs head was gonna land right in the exit of the rut and adjust in the 1ms he had.

So your opinion is he chose not to shut off?  Thats a "decision" he made?  He chose to keep the power on while he rode over Cooper Webb's spine?  Really?

You ever had someone crash in front of you before? Shit happens so fast

Some of these guys haven’t been out front and gone down and it shows. Doesn’t matter what class you’re in, if you are towards the front and crash, it’s scary!

Some of these guys think the 1000ft TV camera view is the same one the rider has and it shows.

Exactly, I've hit/ran over people and have been ran over myself. As I think everyone here who has raced for a period of time has. Shit happens fast sometimes.

I hope this is one of those cases where it looks worse than it actually is, but damn that was horrible to watch. So much force and impact.

He is a such a great racer and character in the sport. Heal fast Coop.

When I saw it unfold, my first thought was Valentino Rossi and Marco Simoncelli!! What a relief when Coop stood up under his own steam.

As a racer you are looking well ahead of where your front tire is, especially out of a corner and especially at the speeds these guys go. When someone goes down in front of you it’s hard to have any depth perception when your eyes are coming back to you while your bike is accelerating away from the incident. Literally no way for Adam to not hit Coop the way he fell over. Prayers for both guys.

Bummer for him but it was wreckers or checkers like Bubba said. Props to him for leaving it all on the track. Seems like he will be fine.

AC already had the bike laid over when Webb rolled out in front of him. Hope they both get past this.

Anyone saying that Adam could have avoided it is basically saying that he aimed for Cooper intentionally. This is the dumbest take I have probably ever seen on Vital… and people write some pretty dumb shit here. I don’t know Adam, but I watch a lot of moto content, and he comes off as one of the nicest, most level headed riders on and off the track. Anyone who has raced knows how fast shit can go south, and these guys are moving at 10x the speed. Some of you need to get off your high horses and show some empathy.

I really hope that doctors are taking extra precaution with this. Back of the head injuries are no joke. Just look at what happen to that fighter Prichard Colon a few years ago.

AC could have chopped the throttle.  In a split second he had to decide let off and risk crashing/injury or power over the downed rider.  AC has been hurt ALOT.  He made a choice and some people don't like the choice he made.  When I raced, if a rider went down right in front of me and the pack was right behind us, someone was getting run over.  You better be tough if you want to race dirt bikes.

Wow. 4 down votes already.  When I raced, I also knew that if I crashed in front of the pack I would most likely get run over/run into.  I was not going to be upset at the riders who hit me.  It was MY FAULT for crashing at the front of the pack right after the start.  That was part of what makes racing dirt bikes so exciting.  I'm getting excited just thinking about it. BOOM BOOM BOOM goes the heart rate. pussies.

He actually needed to be on the throttle harder and pivot more to avoid contact. Looking at his angle coming out of the corner and the speed he already had, if he chopped, he was actually going to run into Cooper even more squared up.

There's a massive difference in roll speed compared to the majority of us and what's going on there, you can't just chop throttle to avoid.

Another thing I would also point out is these guys are thinking and looking way ahead of where us choads ride.

Watching the replay he does seem to try and pivot more, just didn't work out and you can see the expression in his body language.

Nothing validates your toughness more than typing “pussies” to a bunch of strangers on a motocross forum. Excuse me while I finish my Lisa Frank coloring book.
