A moto brother takes his family to a race and isn't allowed to watch practice or qualifying from his paid seats and your telling him to quit crying. I hope you get tax audited and ow more than your worth.

He gets to sit in the seats he paid for, just not at his personal convenience .uncle-scrooge-mcduck-money 0.gif?VersionId=RPhT7vSpKCplFr3sYAs8Yd

Imagine how pissed you would be if you showed up to watch a 7 o'clock race and they started it at 5:30

I’m here in Nashville. My seat is in section 124. An end zone seat. I was making my way to my seat to watch qualifying and they were waving people away. I asked one of the ushers what the deal was and they basically said I could seat any where else except the endzone sections. Wasn’t given a reason except that’s just the way it is.

So you have entire sections just going anywhere and sitting in peoples seats. Been a few scuffles because someone is showing up to a seat they paid for and someone is seating in it because their seat is closed off.

Total shit show.

Open seating in limited sections is pretty standard before the night show starts.

Early is correct.... Arlington has been that way every time I have been.

It has gotten way too expensive and oit of hand for me to justify going.

Television and home beers and bathrooms are better for me.

Yup.   First time It happened was on Amazon for me....hit the "place order" button and got the "sorry, we can't ship these to your state" message.

Insanity.

I live one hour away and I wouldn’t go because of how it sucked the last time. It was the worst organized SX race I’ve ever attended.

It’s been this way for the 30 years I’ve been going to supercross races. Always has been limited parts of the stadium open and your seat number doesn’t matter until the night show.

Every supercross race I've attended I have been able to watch practice. This is some bs. I would have been pissed too.

That’s BS. I have always enjoyed watching all the practice.

That’s pretty lame. I would imagine it’s due to lack of staff wanting to show up to work before 11am

Hell even the microphones were not working right!

I didn’t get here until 10am (fun night in Nashtucky last night 😂🤦‍♂️) but when I walked by the gates, all the security guards were just checking in and standing together. I remember thinking at the time, why aren’t they in there and working right now? I found it odd.

Or the facility not wanting to pay for that staff for those extra hours

Did they buy tickets to a SX in Nashville? Irrelevant.

I think you can just sit anywhere that is open. You don’t have to see in assigned seating until later. Bummer they should have told you that!

I’m surprised by anyone that actually disagrees with the frustration that OP has here. As a fan that has been to a ton of these things I’d be pissed to show up and not be able to watch practice.

The daytime program started at 7:00am today when the pits and fan fest opened. First timed qualifying started at 8:00am. Final timed qualifying started at 10:30am. They aren’t allowing ANY fans to take their seats in the stadium until after 11:00am. And if your tickets are in the 200s second level section, you can’t take your seats until 11:30am. The night show starts at 1:30. Until 11:00am 60% of the stadium is blocked off and inaccessible. You can’t really even catch a glimpse of the track until the stadium if fully open for the night show.

I want my money back for my tickets. My wife and our son don’t want to stand in front of the concession stands for hours doing nothing after we’ve already weaved thru the fan fest crowds. What a joke. Never paid for a Supercross race where the only part of the race you get to watch is the night show… and I’ve attended them since the end of the McGrath era. (Not to mention the $15 bucks each to get into the ‘Fan Fest’.)

I opened this thread thinking some dude was complaining about something stupid. I was wrong, and I'd be freakin' pissed off too!! From practice all the way through the mains......you should be able to watch every second riders are on the track... Period!!

I always enjoy watching timed practice/qualifying. I usually try to make sure I grab any open seat down close and watch the A groups for a minute. For a real Moto fan who races, you know we all love watching them ride before the night show. It was just frustrating to have half of the stadium completely closed off, as well as no one allowed in any seating areas period until after 11:00. This was the equivalent of not allowing anyone near their seats or the second half of the stadium until 5:00pm for a normal night race. I would imagine most SX fans would be annoyed by that if they took their family to a race. I know I was and I saw hundreds of other folks who were just as surprised and annoyed by the situation as we were. Fan fest was open at 7:00am. Just poor planning and execution. I’m sure there are reasons, but don’t have a race that early at that venue if the first half of the day has to suck like that for the fans who came out despite sprinkles and clouds to watch SX. We got to watch bikes on the track for a 3.5 hour total block of time.

Club level is a special section that opens later. If you have club seats you can sit anywhere else and watch practice

I have to add how bad nashville was.  I haven't been to the stadium before, and I have been to full seasons of sx's before.  I wont be going back to this venue. Total joke in many ways.   I'm not going to add detail to be picked apart by the jackasses around here, but I will support the OP.

There were quite a few folks in there during 1st timed qualifying sessions.

Maybe one gate was screwed?

concourse was pretty full of people getting in seats.

Right, I’m not sure what that has to do with anything.

I may very well be mistaken, but I don’t think that has been a thing for a couple years now? I do remember always doing that years back though.

You bring your monster can and they stamp your hand then you can go through the stadium.

I got there at 8am. Walked right in with regular tickets (I was in section 231), sat down (in a different section than my seats as I knew the upper levels wouldn’t be open yet) and watched the first round of qualifying no problem. Then went to the pits after. For qualifying I was always told it’s open seating since they don’t have the upper levels open yet, your paid seat is for the night show. My only complaint about Nashville would be when everyone was coming back in from fan fest, they had you funnel into one kind of small entrance of the stadium. It got super congested, it took probably 30 minutes to get about 100-200ft before it opened up. I’m used to going to the Arlington round, so much better configuration than Nashville.
