I agree completely but thats not his fault. I'd bet he would jump to a 450 if he could get a ride.
Thats not going to happen with the teams considering 250 titles almost equal to 450 and the new AMA rules virtually eliminating pointing out.
Any of the Austrian brands?
Any hints?

Does his name rhyme with Shmacklerath?
Nope.....
Nope, not McElrath.
Pulp said this week. Kitchen likely to goto pc kawi.
Previously the rumour was ktm.
But why wouldn't he stay or want to say at star?
$
Are star paying their riders less?
Pc have always been the cheap team on wages. I cannot see them paying that much more then star.
I would have thought star would want to keep him as he would have to be top 5 indoors and out. And if he improves with he Lawrence's gone 1 of the title favourites for next season.
Probably over the Star Program I reckon, or been pushed out and didn't get offered a contract
I think back in day the PC bikes was so much better they could afford to pay less for the chance of being on the best bike and program. But that has turned a 180 and now Star is regarded as the bike to be on. So maybe they think they can low ball on pay to be on best bike now, after all they have like a dozen guys on team now to pay and there's gonna be some big bonuses to pay Eli pretty soon ha.
50k sounds like it's the going race win bonus for a 250 rider.
300k seems to be a ballpark figure for a decent 250 rider contract.
Even if some1 else is offer 100-200k more. You have to think the team u can get the most wins with should be the team you sign for.
A couple wins and you regain the lower contract. Then your future value will be even higher.
Judging by results perhaps the Honda HRC 250 might the bike regarded to be on?
No brainer to me.
The Konsky bikes might be just as good too.
Rumor has it, a 16 year old girl.
Some guys get paid a lot at PC, and some don’t, it’s always been that way.
In the past, the bike was better than the rest of them, so guys like Mike Brown rode cheap and made big bonus. While guys like Ryan Hughes and AC made 300k.
So if Kitchen goes to PC where does that leave Forkner? I'm assuming Shimoda goes to HRC and that would leave McAdoo and Hammaker.
Pit Row
Shimoda wanted a guaranteed 450 deal. I don’t think hrc is handing those out with both Lawrence brothers there.
PC and Ktm are in CA. Star is not. That might be the difference. Those win bonuses only help if you are winning. Does anyone think Kitchen is going to start winning a lot of races next year? He might but he also might want the higher contract and/or being based in CA.
I think that Shimoda has shown that the PC bike can run with any of the others. It looks like any problem that PC is having, it’s less of a bike problem and more of a rider issue.
As for Star and their huge teams, I always assumed that they paid some of their 250 guys but that at least 3-4 of them were paid directly (or somewhat indirectly) from Yamaha. I’d be shocked if all of the win bonuses weren’t paid/covered by Yamaha.
Maybe he doesn’t want to train with the star team trainer ?
I doubt it’s that. His family, sister, girlfriend would all be much closer to him if he trained in California. I don’t blame a 21 year old kid for wanting to be close to all his people.
Southern California isn't exactly close to Washougal Washington LOL! Makes you wonder with all those riders who gets all the attention there's a reason why they say Dylan is shopping around just guessing
4 hour direct flight vs 7.5 hour flight lol
1000 miles vs 3000 miles lol
Takes 2 hours to fly to Portland from down here. Shougal is across the river from Portland international
Are you talking about Levi? If so, he doesn't want to be in CA. He has a house in FL and that's where he wants to be.
Sometimes a change is a good thing just to keep things fresh and exciting. Dylan was ready for the 23 Yamaha 450 model. Sx he has struggled to gel with the older model 450. He re-signed knowing the new bike was good. Fast forward to multiple injuries in SX and sometimes the grass looks greener.
Every team has their flaws and their positives. Remember that this is also a career, so when you take a rider like Levi and he has the POTENTIAL to win, plus make gear bonus money, and still have a factory bike? Not a bad looking proposition. Star has a great way of doing things. But money talks.
Why is the current system so bad?
What manufacturers is it keeping out that have a bike that's up to the task of Pro Moto/Supercross?
Sherco? Nope.
Beta? Nope.
TM? Nope.
Reiju? Nope.
Triumph? I'll still believe it when I see it.
Ducati? Never heard of her.
So if Shimoda says no to HRC, who else are we hearing would want those seats?
They have to be the most coveted seats in the 250s right now
If you are going to have a production rule (that I actually don't like, but that is beside the point) then you need to put a number on units available for sale. Otherwise, Honda could still build 5 of their "HRC RC450F" works bikes and 'sell' them to their own team for $20K each. They could show some receipts showing that someone paid $20K each and say that they would sell them to others but they have already sold out their production run.
Eliminating the production rule, at least in the 450 class, would make that a moot point.
