The bike (with phone) has location services, so location based engine maps are theoretically possible.

You'll be able to load any 5 map configurations on the bike at a time. Those maps can be switched on the fly via the map switch on the handbar while riding, up/down. So you could load the same power maps with 5 different engine braking settings and toggle between them while riding, for example.

I was asked not to show the app so thats why the phones in my videos had their screens off. Stark is finalizing the design and functionality of the initial version of the app. Stark engineers had access to each bike from their own phones so it was easiest to just have them adjust settings for me. This obviously wont be the case when we receive our bikes. Owners will be able to do this themselves via the app. If you're familiar with the Specialized app for the ebikes, the process for connecting to the Varg and modifying maps is a  similar concept.

There was 1 gas bike there that spun a couple of  laps, but primarily it was just Vargs. Electric bikes make smoother, less choppy ruts than gas bikes, and this is a product of the smooth power delivery electric provides.

Lack of engine inertia means the bike doesnt fight your inputs. The bike effortlessly falls into ruts and corners easily, but at the same time tracks straight and doesnt do anything funny. I feel like on my 450s when the bike steps out it really requires manhandling to get the bike true again. Not the case with electric. You put the bike where you want it to be. Its a feeling you dont realize you are fighting on your gas bike until you try electric. The "light" feeling people always comment about with electric is a feeling of less resistance to rider input on the bike. And less fighting makes you feel more confident on the bike imo.

Yeah, im a full stack software developer in the pharma industry. Some technologies are similar but some are different. ill definitely be showing the app and its functionality once im able to. Ive seen it and discussed futher functionality with the team. I'm looking forward to putting the bike and app to the test here in SoCal and providing feedback to the team and just generally being as helpful as i can.

Hmm. Are y’all hiring? I’m guessing you work from home?

it’s also mind numbing to think that there are actual people that think the bike Bryan rode is not the bike that is going to be delivered. Do you really think these people are that stupid whilst you sit mashing keys on a message board???

Bryan, I watched your video...honestly, great job on it (it didn't feel like an hour long video...and that's a complement...though I did have it on during work, and got distracted a few times).

The battery life surprised me, it was better than expected (and to ride with Tortelli?  Dang...I'm jealous...his Glen Helen '99 ride is one of my favorite ever.

I didn't see any footage or commentary on how many bikes are built and ready to ship?  How busy was the assembly line?  Is the assembly line running full out?  Is there a warehouse full of completed bikes?

If you'll have your bike in about a month, they've gotta have some ready-or just about ready-to ship, right?  It's a long boat ride across the ocean..then across America.

Also, are you buying direct from Stark, and they'll ship it direct to your home...or is there a dealer you're buying it through?

In my video i talked about Stark doing endurance testing and i said "...so while i was expecting to arrive at the manufacturing facility and see my own personal Stark Varg...". That should give you a hint. My bike wasn't built yet.

I'm buying directly from Stark and the bike is being shipped directly to my house.

Goldmember, semifreeguy, skull island. it’s crazy why they continue to destroy threads about Stark and electric Mx.

1. they don’t have one ordered. So deliveries etc shouldn’t matter to them.

2. they only post opinions not facts, or complete different subjects.

3. They are anti electric in general. So why even talk in a pro electric thread.

I think they could and should make an anti Stark/electric mx thread to post in for themselves and quit ruining countless other threads. The people people making the threads want electric mx, so those guys need to make their own thread to discuss why they don’t want it.

Funny how you believe the point of a forum is talking only with people who think what you think -while never answering a single serious question asked.

Today I learned that "Varg"  means wolf. I was curious so I googled it. In case you were wondering.

My brain kept seeing vag or viagra so I tried to update my auto-pilot to see "Wolf" instead.Laughing Don't know if anyone else was wondering what a varg was. If you were, now you know.   Ok lunch break over back to work.

You think people want to willingly engage in conversation with people that are completely negative and pessimistic all the time for no reason?

Theres a small group of you that love to talk shit on everything posted about Stark as if the company itself ripped you off of part ownership or something, and then a few of you just harass Bryan about everything he posts as if its the worst thing in the world if he's a company insider.  Most videos on bike reviews and intros are completely sponsored and controlled by the manufacturers themselves, but when it comes to an e-bike ya'll lose your damn minds.  Just chill.

I wish all bikes could be ordered directly from the manufacturer and delivered to the customers homes...that would be ideal! Awesome they are doing that.

But, the app isn't ready.  Bike isn't ready.  Not currently building any production bikes...Is your delivery date going to be a "one-off" (just to test delivery channels and procedures) and everyone else is going to have to wait a lot longer?  It just doesn't seem to me like they are ready to start shipping bikes around the world to get bikes into customers hands by the end of May.  It takes 15 days on average to get a shipping container from Spain to New York, and then another week (?), by truck, to get from New York to CA...so if you will have your bike by the end of May...they've got about two more weeks to get it in a shipping container.  How optimistic are you that's going to happen?

Wonder if they will be green sticker in California?  Was at the ohv park last week and was blown away to see that a kids KTM E50 was red sticker!  WTF?  There are no emissions, how can it hurt the air in the summer?

There is a huge ideological, environmental and political dimension to the Stark, and green politics looms large. But we don't discuss that here at Vital, so the focus becomes very narrow.

It can be demonstrated that some of the claims made for the presently non-existent bike are logically absurd: 'the best MX bike ever' being the main one.  For sporting reasons it is open season on that, and other completely unverified claims, and a sound knowledge of what is currently engineeringly possible provides the weapons and ammo to shoot those turkeys down.

Then do it! Provide some arguments for your two claims:

- what’s the ideological, political and environmental dimension behind it?

- why wouldn’t an electric bike with roughly the same weight and more and better manageable power be faster than a 450?

But as always you will just ignore this or say: but the bike doesn’t exist…

Your average Vitard is usually unable to string together two coherent sentences, but when it comes to criticizing the Varg some of those homeschooled diehards seem to be aiming for the Pulitzer prize…

Why the hate on homeschoolers? What does it have to do with the topic? How do you know the demographic of Vital users?
As to the topic, If you don’t want electric, don’t buy electric. Whatever happened to time will tell? It can’t be an owners review because he doesn’t have his yet, so at best it’s a users review.

This weekend here in Tuscany (Italy)  the local Varg reseller will show the bike at a local off-road exhibition. Can’t be there and not shopping for a new bike, but it would be interesting to attend.

I’m assuming they’re going through a dealer network? My local to me dealer who was slated to be a Stark dealer said they wouldn’t do it if Stark agreed to some form of direct-to-customer purchasing. It makes sense because I can’t imagine a dealership being able to compete with that model.
Which begs another question…..if they abandon the traditional dealership model, how will service and warranty work? Authorized repair facilities?

Why does the "first look scene" seem way too much like a propaganda photo shoot? All that BS lighting and fake tool boxes in the backdrop...wtf is really going on over there?

Clearly Triumph is a more popular future bike to be introduced to the sport of motocross. A day later post, but with nearly twice the views. Varg with nearly twice the replies, mainly the Varg boys talking back to the opposition..

I was thinking they might just be Bots .  A lot  of what they post is repeated Gas and Oil Propaganda.   I wish they would just go out and try an Electric powered something. Then they might understand the excitement. The potensial, see some of the big upsides.

Nothing is perfect, and maybe I am biased because of my excitement for Electric. But so much of the negative stuff posted doesn't seem like they are trying to contribute to a conversation . Often not responding to direct questions. Or just insulting the poster. I welcome constructive feedback to any of my posts. I feel like that is what a discussion is. Its funny to see  posts claiming the people who are excited about electric are the ones not willing to engage in a conversation. I feel like I see many more posts from the people who are excited about electric that engage with the electric haters in a way that can move a conversation along.

I don't understand why some people feel like just because something is electric  that is a part of some grand political agenda .  The stuff that has become political is just crazy these days. Are  Kid's power wheels  all part of this big agenda too?  Or where is the line ? If anything , the idea that Stark is some scam and never going to build bikes, but is at the sametime a part of some crazy agenda to switch over to electric vehicles sounds more like a Cult , conspiracy theory to me. Than a group of people who have researched , ridden and and or just see positive things that could be possible with the Varg and Electric in general. But I just had another cup of the great Epower flavor Kool aid, so I might just be in too deep.

An acquaintance of mine place his order the day they opened the book.

The last time I spoke to him, 7 months ago, Stark had advised that his order was scheduled for delivery in December 2023.

I thought you wanted to discuss the „huge ideological, environmental and political dimension to the Stark“?

Let‘s go!

Wonder if they will be green sticker in California?  Was at the ohv park last week and was blown away to see that a kids KTM E50 was red sticker!  WTF?  There are no emissions, how can it hurt the air in the summer?

Because it's Cali and a lot of regulations and rules make no f'n sense. Just wait until the new asinine CA energy bill passes so you guys making decent incomes can pay more for your power bills to compensate all the welfare leeches and illegals that "can't afford" their energy cost.

Definitely more interest in Stark. Your screen shot proves that. So does the fact that there are 18,000 pre-ordered. The Stark will change the industry while Triumph is a very similar version of what is already offered.

Production has started, but its a trickle for now. The first few customer bikes will be likely air shipped.

You know this how?

An acquaintance of mine place his order the day they opened the book.

The last time I spoke to him, 7 months ago, Stark had advised that his order was scheduled for delivery in December 2023.

There were almost 1000 ordered within the first 24 hours. More than likely your acquaintance is further down the list than the first few.
