There’s been some talk about it in another thread but no video or update on him. A few people weighing in on how it happened that were in the stands close by. Someone said he went over the bars at the end of the whoops.
I was there and sitting near the finish line. He must’ve been crashing for a long time as i think i was watching Blose and Miller battle for 6th, i hear the “ohhhs” from other people and immediately look up and see him going face 1st into a mound. At 1st I thought it was Deegan but then i saw he came around

I’m probably wrong, but just basing what happened with some other past 250 guys that were super fast, looked super promising, but kept getting injuries season after season.
I truly hope I’m wrong. I love Thrasher and really want to see him battle for the title next year.

Lame ass backpedaling is lame ass.
It was notable to me that he couldn't get himself off the track. We see people crawl off the track. maybe take a couple steps and sit on a tough block. We all saw him holding his arm but I said to my wife and son that something was wrong with his leg. This is a real shame to see, I like the way the kid races. I wonder if he will fix his knee. Did he wreck his hip on the same leg? He's in for a lot of rehab, might as well get it all done at once. I hope to see him fully recovered in 24.

TBH, really wrong timing to wish him a speedy recovery, which we all do.
SIAP, but Thrasher had a dislocated hip and thus couldn't get off the track. Also broken collarbone. Surgery on the hip to come.
Being 20 with his speed I doubt this is a career ender. Other than the ACL Craig is hurt just as bad (and 10 years older) and no one is talking about his career being over. It might be smart to get the knee fixed now though and try to be ready for east coast in 2024.
In what world has a broken collar bone been a career ender? Ive seen about 10 reports of dislocated hips this year it seems. Craig dislocated his hip and was walking around 3 days later, granted sometimes if they don't get it back in place or it moved too far they have to do surgery but still.
I don't imagine them doing his ACL yet, Id bet they will wait until his hip is stable and he can walk on it a little but who knows but that seems like a tough combo to recover from simultaneously on the same leg.

He spoke about bone fragments but i could not determine from his comments if it was his hip or collarbone. And Craig may be walking but he will likely not be on a bike for the rest of the season.
I think Rick Johnson had a similar injury back in ‘84ish. Then came back stronger and we know the rest (championships).

He posted this on IG yesterday. The last picture is him in his hospital bed with some shit I'm not familiar with in his knee. Might have something to do with his ACL (never had an issue with mine, so I don't know).

It looks like traction with a transosseous pin. He said they’re able to set his hip but there were some bone fragments so there’s probably fracture(s) in his femur/pelvis (they come together to make your hip joint). Either would be a possible indication for traction.

I partially dislocated my hip 20 years ago and have been dealing with back pain ever since.
