Anyone in attendance see a crash? He was slowing, then disappeared from live coverage, then they said he was out.

Was there and didn’t see him go down but saw him rolling around for a couple laps and was bummed

No sleep, probably just wanted to get home to his newborn. Might be different if he was actually in the hunt but, That’s always going to be way more important than racing. Yeah, I said it…

I’m hoping he was just exhausted from all the emotions and lack of sleep after his wife had a baby the night before. That adds up with him just rolling around.  If he had a big get off, I would think that we would’ve at least seen the aftermath if not footage of the accident.  Hopefully father El hombre returns next week with a fire in his belly to win for his family!

He looked and sounded exhausted after his heat win. I suspect he petered out in the main.

he sure was shot in his interview - couldn't catch his breath it seemed.  Hope he was just excessively tired

Dude went through probably the most stressful day of his life a day ago and then barely slept to make it to the race. I’m sure he was just mentally shot and once he started going backwards just bailed to not crash or get a 10th

Sounds like he’s human and ran out of adrenaline from all the excitement with the newborn and hit the proverbial wall.  Congrats on the new addition El Hombre.  Now come back and win one for her!

Not sure Kawi is going to give El Hombre paternity leave. Pushing himself too hard.

I was a bit surprised to see him so winded on the podium.  You never see this from the real athletes like Eli, Cooper, and Chase.  Those guys are so fit that after doing battle for 20 minutes they’ve already recovered cardiovascularly and are rarely even sweating on the podium.  I understand that he was probably mentally tired from having the baby, but it doesn’t appear to me like his overall level of fitness is where it needs to be to do battle with the other 3 for the entirety of a main event.  That performance last night was so poor that I hope for his sake he had a mechanical issue.

Not sure how long his wife was in labor or how much they stayed up. We know his travel schedule though. But that track was brutal, as I believe everyone interviewed said so. Plus it was over 80 degrees. The combination of all those things, it would be extremely hard to finish that race. He’s not in the hunt for top 3, which is where the bonuses are. Probably was completely gassed and said I’m out.

They made a mountain out of a mole hike with the heat. They all train in the heat of the day and they're all doing longer motors getting ready for outdoors.

Yup if you ain’t been there you don’t know.  Never mind getting on a plane and having to do what they do as pro sx racers.  Length of labor, worry, joy, relief.  Lots of things going on when wife is in labor, and if there are any complications then multiply those emotions.

I get that he was tired and emotionally drained.  As a parent to three teenagers, that’s how my wife live our lives these days LOL.  To me, I wish he hadn’t just quit the race.  Why not just do what you can and finish 15th etc?  Lost some respect for him.   He’s getting paid to do this.

You’re right. He should of just pushed himself until he crashed his brains out and ended his season.

Where’d I say he should have pushed it? 🤦🏻‍♂️ Just said I wished he’d done what he could and settled for a crappy result instead of quitting.  It’s not you or me out there doing this for fun.  He a professional getting paid.

I noticed that.

That battle with Barcia in the heat race was intense!  If I remember correctly,, the only one anywhere close was Chase.

All things considered, that's probably all he had.

It was great to see those 2 battle clean!

I hope he's alright.

I'm sure it's safer to run a comfortable pace on a track, keeping timing throughout the sections rather than putts around at a pace much slower than you're used to.. The guy probably couldn't even focus out there, he made a smart choice.

The dude had 2 weeks of “any day now”…with his wife being very pregnant.

And let’s be clear, he really digs his chick and the idea of having a family…so, as an educated guess?

He’s physically and emotionally exhausted. If he made the informed decision to get off an extremely fast and risky SX track because he was fading a bit too much and didn’t like the potential outcome if he stayed out there…? More power to him!

Those of us that would imply that “it shouldn’t matter” or any other such ideology? Jason isn’t some “racing robot”. He’s a dude that loves life and knows what’s important.

Dude was probably inhaling chips and soda when posting this

You might be right, but nobody is paying me 7 figures to maintain optimal fitness and win championships.
