It goes back to being the blue pig.

Ferrandis wnba title on it before Tomac. It’s clearly a more potent bike since Star took it over.

Lets see what happens when Eli goes.

Let's just pretend that Eli goes and they hire Ando, and he scores similarly to what he's done this year- the "Blue pig" nickname will return.

Or if they sign Webb and he has a similar year to what he had in '20 & '22??

With Chase on a KTM & the Lawrences on red, everyone else approaching retirement age, it might be tough on the blue team to keep this momentum.

Exactly my point!

Its not & never has been about the bike. Eli is 'top' top tier and he's hooked up with his suspension guy Ricki Gilmore who he works well with. Its a match made in heaven by all accounts...

Theres nothing to say that Gilmore will have the same connection with another rider & achieve the same results.

On that note, What was Gilmore doing in 2021 when Eli was on Kawasaki?

Again, man? What about Ferrandis and Plessinger when they made the switch to Star? Plessinger was suddenly in the mix for podiums/wins indoors and out and Ferrandis humbled everyone outdoors.

I'm amazed how everyone thinks Webb will hop on the Star Yamaha and be top dog , but what if he doesn't gel with it like ELI did ??? back to the old blue pig again ???

He doesn’t need Aldon, he needs structure. If he can find structure and discipline with someone, he’ll be fine.

He’s not guaranteed that 450 spot at all. He said HIS goal is to be on a 450, that’s not Hondas goal. Hondas goal is to have him sport the number 1 plate.

His contract is up next year, and depending on who is currently on that bike, he may have to move to another team.  Honda won’t have 3 450 riders.

I don't see Honda letting Hunter go just for the marketing value unless he just decides he has to get away from the Jettson Show.

If there is any animosity it would be good for him to go elsewhere.  I hope that's not the case and they continue to work together and crush it as brothers on the same team.

Maybe I missed it, but is Kenny in a 1 year deal at HEP?

The way Webb is riding, I do not see him leaving. I would think both he and KTM want to keep that relationship together.

The sport ebbs and flows. Not every team can win a championship every year. Is the ktm a rotting pumpkin because it hasn’t won since Webb in 2021?

Hymas will be fulltime with HRC on a 250 next season. I expect Hunter to move to 450 for outdoors like his brother. 2025 I think Phoenix takes over the 250 program, or they have an East and West team with 2 different teams. I expect Hunter and Jett to be 450 guys. Webb will not go to Star if Eli is there IMO as he wouldn't be top dog.

I don't think your math is mathing. Sexton, Nichols (450), Lawrence bros (250). Last I checked that's 4 riders, aka FULL.

You're not wrong but you're not right.

Once SX is over Honda will have Chase and Jett on 450s and Hunter and Chance on 250s.

Colt is SX only and then out.

For 24 they have Hymas and Hunter 250 and Jett 450...Sexton and Nichols are not under contract for 24...hence the thread title 2024 Silly Season....AKA not full.....

I don’t think he will be a 4-5 place guy, I think he’ll be a 5-8 place guy at best. Do you really see him beating Anderson, Mookie, or Barcia? If so, you are living in a dream world. I dont see him being any faster than Justin Cooper or Craig

I think most forget that all these guys have a regional title, Hunta doesn’t.

dream world? you forget these current riders are aging and on the back end... yes, hunter wont beat them right now.. but in another year or two.. are all these riders still going to be racing? families and kids come into play, wanting to cut back a little more. top 10 all coming into their 30's (except chase).. but again, its timing. every one talks like Barcia, Tomac, Anderson etc are all going to be racing forever...

A years time.. you going to take a 25 year old who is only getting faster or a 30+ year old who wants to tone it back and enjoy the back end of their career.

we cant predict the future.. but you cant ignore age. until now, most riders retired before 30

UpTiTe wrote:

Maybe I’m wrong, and he does well when they all start to retire, but right now, in this group he an eighth place guy.

barely? he's dominating. he chased down thrasher who had a 10 second lead with a couple of laps to go. Only time Hunters has lost is due to a crash. which has been the same case for Jett. and both have gotten up and closed in on the leaders.

Jett gets a lead and maintains a 4 second gap. no need to throw heaters. maintains the gap and rides at a comfortable level.

We seen Jett and Hunter battle out front slowing each other down and had a 30+ second lead over 3rd in outdoors.

but to your next point.. id agree. I don't think that's a bad expectation. If he was higher up,. I wouldn't be surprised either

There will be 2 new "factory" 250 teams in Triumph and Beta next year, right???

The upcoming riders like Reynolds, etc. have their rides...  It's going to be the guys like Smith finding a new home.

Beta will be a 450 program, Triumph will be a three man 250 team and it sounds like two of the riders are already signed.

Thank you for the clarification.  I thought I had heard Beta was going to have their 250 ready...

But that leaves another 250 under the Triumph tent.  And a new 450 team (just 1 rider I presume).  Could Jason be their target???

250 is something completely different than being on a 450 championship winning level.

I can see triumph being ferry Swoll who are more than likely signed. And the other 250 being smith.

Triumph must not have that much money to spend on their 250 team . Ferry has never dominated as an amateur and Swoll has had a couple bad years .I would think both of them come pretty cheap money wise .

Sounds like HRC will keep the 250 program.  See Lars' interview on the latest Pulp MX.

RJ is staying at Husky.

The rumor mill video is saying Swoll, Ferry, and possibly Mosiman.
