Why does Kaw have the most bikes in 450 SX

In SX this year I have noticed a lot of Kawi's on the track.  In todays Daytona race the 450 class breaks down like this:

Kaw 17, KTM 10, Yam 9, Hon 7, GG 7. Hus 3 Suz 2

If you take the OEM teams out it is up to the satellite and privateer teams that make up the rest.  Kaw has about 30% of 450 entries. Why - is it that Kaw may have a great bonus and contingency plan?

Not 100% sure the exact number off the top of my head. But I think they are the only company to pay to make the night show and its about $300

Jeez.

Good on kawi for still doing contingencies but that is pathetic.

$300 is only 2 tanks of fuel in your truck these days.

How big is your truck's gas tank that it costs 150 to fill up? Huh

Also funny that the only brand giving money out is called pathetic. Grinning

Mines 30 gallons. $150+ to fill up with 87. New F150’s have an option for a 36 gallon tank.

Damn. I just did the national average gas price at $3.40 x a 34 gallon tank which would be $115. It's really over $5 a gallon for regular 87 in California?

Anyway, I just found it funny that the only brand paying money out is called pathetic vs everyone other brand paying out $0 doesn't get called out. Grinning

In the 90s the field was yellow with Suzuki contingency, sad Kawasaki is the only one paying now

We were finally down to $4.29 again a few months ago, but now we are back up to the lowest local gas being $4.79. Summers coming which means we will be above $5 again in no time…

The average Joe makes more money racing a Kawasaki.  Suzuki use to be the ticket in the late 90s early 2000s.

I paid $5 for diesel in Cali today,  might never see it that cheap again.  Not far of $150 a fill up and I think it was around that at height of fuel prices.

And good for Kawi. LOL

So if you are a privateer and can put it in the main. You stand to make a extra 800-1500 for a 15-16;place. Yea I can see why you would ride green. Good for Kawasaki to offer up some good coin for the weekend warriors.

Valveless must not ride a 4stroke. The KX is a great platform and as good, if not better than many. Good for Kawasaki to help keep privateers out there going round to round. Feld sure doesn't have much interest in the small guy.

Been to WA lately? I’m close to or just over 100.00, and I’m in a half-ton gasser. Anyone in a diesel 25/3500 is around 150 if they run it down very far. Just added another 40-50 cents/gallon 1/1….

Come out to Norcal. Gas is still over $6 a gallon in some places. I have friends who would kill to fill their truck for a $150.

Barry Carston can vouch for that. Wasn't he making more money then a good chuck of factory guys off of his Suzuki contingency money, race purses, and sponsors back in the day?

Californians.  Our state makes more off of a gallon of gas in taxes and fees than the producer does in profit. FACT!

Back on topic. Good on green handing out the cabbage. Laissez Les Bons Temp Rouler!
