Can we interview more than just the winner to eliminate some downtime?
Can we show the points as they stand after the 2nd race finish?
can we not show a rider not in the fight yell at the flaggers during the races?
Can we not cut from the only battle on the track to show the leader 5 seconds alone out front?
Im sure there might be more ideas, but I know it can’t be improved…
Hmm, we can interview Jett at the first triple crown race when he had a bad race but we can’t interview Eli after this second race to ask why the gate choice and his thoughts on that moto?
AX has put out a better broadcast this year.
Agreed. Weege's latest gem was an editorial in Racerx stating MX/SX has never been more popular or mainstream. Guess he never knew maybe 100,000 Elsinores were sold in '74 in the states. Suzuki sells what, maybe 1,000 RMZs total now?
Hmmm, almost like the elite/insiders are out of touch with the common man/fan…

The coverage and announcer’s are terrible, ya lets focus on shit that does not even matter when have battles up front.
At least at the triple crowns they don’t miss the 9 finishers of the heat crossing the line while we watch the winner idle over to their interview.
Same shit different week here on vital mx 🙄
Weege has turned into an industry ball gargler.
OP is a whining fuk nut that never raced. Whimp ass post
The idea that it can’t be improved is ridiculous.
Weege seemed caught up on you can’t predict a crash and having a camera on a rider, but anyone who races or has knows best time to pass back is straight away.
The amount of times they catch a pass and then cut away to show a replay of some boring bull shit we caught in real time, three more times in fucken slow mo while the crowd is going crazy…
Watching last night it occurred to me they literally never shut the fuck up. It’s gotten to the point it feels like watching the race sitting with people on a massive amount of uppers. I understand announcers getting excited just like we do but it feels like they’re trying to “sell” a product by screaming at you like a used car salesman on tv. The entire broadcast team was completely off last night, and rather than improving it just gets worse every week. Todd’s pre memorized tag lines were cringy, Ricky may have had a stroke with the amount of new words he invented last night. DB was even off, and the token female is like nails on the chalkboard as always.
I believe Weege and his crew judge the success of the sport based upon how much money they themselves can make from it and how many people they can take out to Ruth's Chris, not based upon how many tracks, trails, and dealerships close. Weigandt's arrogance and contempt for the opinion of the common fan is becoming unseemly and in bad taste.
At my job we have a weekly meeting about what’s going right, what isn’t and areas we can improve (continuous improvement). We even take employee suggestions for improvement ideas. This may sound crazy but occasionally our customers visit and let us know how we are doing. Sorry but if you don’t reflect on how your week went you are never going to improve. I offered up a couple areas they could improve, I wasn’t just bitching to bitch…
I have used the mute button more this year than previous. You would think Ricky would improve year after year but instead I think he has become worse and he is so pompous that he actually thinks he's good at commentating. I miss Emig. The useless blond they have on the floor just needs to go back to porn because see REEEEEALLY sucks at her job! I agree with those who think the AX broadcast is much better than the big show.
It’s just every single week, and on podcasts everyone has all these suggestions, if they did everything you listed somebody else is going to have something to complain about. It wasn’t that long ago these races weren’t even live
Why yall let peacock bum you out so much? I realize peacock is like the fat chick in the bar at 2 a.m. it's not ideal but it's all your getting. Maybe find a way to be glad your getting any action. In all honesty, a recent TBI has left me unable to watch the races at all. So maybe Peacock is terrible in which case, nevermind.
Oh great another noob talking about Cycle News era. That’s what I’m tired of seeing every week. Give it a rest. The broadcast sucks.
The best racing is the first 3 laps and all they do is watch a guy named hunter pick up his bike in the first turn and adjust his levers…
Meanwhile the best part of the race is off screen.
stupid
Pit Row
They are doing a great job presenting the stories scripted at the production meeting Thursday.
Plus, adding all the new stories that have developed since production meeting.
If you think there is time to fine tune the actual racing coverage then obviously you aren’t understanding the importance of story telling during race coverage. 🙃🙃
Peacock has worked great for me. Wills podium interviews were good last night. Its the during the race conversations, like shes talking to a girlfriend on the phone. Quick race points and get out is all that is needed. The racing was great and we didnt do too bad with following one rider forever.
Even as a seasoned SX fan who is familiar with the points system, it gets extremely hard to figure out who’s going to finish where. On the Triple crown races, for race 2 & 3 there really needs to be an extra display added to the screen that shows overall finish position based on the current running position.
It can’t be that hard for them to figure out a system to use that will translate lap position to points.
RC seems to do much better when Blair is calling the race. His interaction with the other two guys just isn't as good. If they stuck with RC & DB, dropped Will, and gave JT the full-time pit gig the broadcast, at least the announcing part, would be greatly improved.
What was ironic about that is, Ansti got up behind him, stayed with him until he made a mistake at about the 8 minute mark, and was never mentioned.
I’m pretty over the Lawrence bros, and it’s not because I dislike them, it’s because we’re being force fed their shit and how great they are down our throats. In reality, one is great, the other will be a 8-10 place 450 guy (which by the way I’d Love to do).
I agree, the broadcast last night sucked. They need to keep JT on the track, and keep Blair in the booth. RC actually does good with Blair in the booth.
The English kook lost me when he said that a last place start was a blessing in disguise.
RC was god awful last night. He can barely speak and when he does it’s just entirely one lined cliche thoughts that have nothing to do with the race or what the play by play set him up with. He’s a great interview on a podcast but SX is just too fast paced for him to keep up with. Unfortunately I think we are stuck with him for many more years.
Blair isn't a race announcer though, he's great in the analyst role.
Yeah that was a massive bummer hearing Weege dismiss everyone's opinion.
In any company, when you have leaders arrogantly walking around dismissing any suggestions on how to be better then your product is going to stagnate. Innovation does not happen by just doing it the way you've always done it because you know how it's supposed to be done.
Weege has been saying dumb things for years imo
Another head scratcher was all the talking that Jett was doing while the race was going on and it wasn't about the race. Weege is just an arm of the Octopus and doubt that will ever change.
Weege is getting a bit pompous. Seems to happen with all celebrities. Even small ones.
However, try turning the sound off and just watching the race. It's actually more enjoyable that way sometimes. Especially if you are more focused on hating what the announcers are saying than the race itself.
I don’t know if it’s my sketchy scrapped together home theater, or their audio mixing is messed up; but I can barely hear the announcing through my speakers. Only the bikes. It’s awesome.
Post a reply to: I know Weege said the broadcast can’t be improved but…
