How you fix it (prevent it)?
Has never froze for me, ever.
I think you need to get off the AOL 56k.
I was moving along watching the race with zero interruption or issues including pausing and rewinding etc.....every race this year. Keep telling yourself your equipment/service is great because the salesman or your neighbor told you it was.
This is the question. Let’s see these streaming wizards answer the question.

Wrong again.
Start the stream on time. Both the “stream has ended” posts in this thread came immediately after the stream did end. If I had to guess based on all the comments I’ve read tonight is that most people thought the race started at the typical west coast time and started their stream from the beginning when they pulled up Peacock. If you rewind a live peacock stream, it will end the stream no matter where you are at on your timeline once the live stream is concluded.
Someone in the race thread went “what’s wrong with Peacock, it’s showing mains and it’s 7PM!” A lot of the comments I’m seeing seem to fall in line with that. Why did none of the “my stream said it ended at the start of the main!” Posts appear until after the races had concluded? There were zero complaints about the stream concluding until the stream concluded. I think some people were watching on a delayed/rewound stream.
Go look in the race thread or anywhere else on the forum. No one said the stream ended early until after the stream actually ended.
You guys are just mad because the Webbwagon was rollin' tonight.
A lot of different opinions on here as always some good, some funny, some just typical crap. I have gleaned a few things to try next week.
I didn't realize we had an early start so I signed in a little after 6:30 to see racing already underway. I wasn't able to restart at all. My old setup with a DVR I could start from the beginning anywhere during the broadcast. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have the Peacock option, but it could be done better.
Not necessarily. My stream never ends when the race ends. On our 3rd gen Apple TV, I start the stream on time. Watch the heats, lcq’s. Before the mrs and I go to dinner, I rewind all the way back to the very beginning. By the time we get home it’s still going. I pause without looking at the leaderboard, skip back to the start of the 250 main, skip the commercials and interviews. Then watch the 450’s listen to the interviews and close out the app.
I’ve been doing this since the very beginning when Peacock took over a couple of years ago. MX, no issues either.
So when the race ends in live time, I can still watch it while being behind. I’ve never had buffering, non HD quality. On 100mb internet service and now our gig service with our own modem and Apple TV connected to wifi. You all that have issues really need to look at your streaming hardware and network gear. What’s going on on your network during the race. Could be your isp is overloaded and saturated.
At a previous job I had, every day at 3pm one of our remote sites would complain that their network would just drag. I would put a network sniffer on and couldn’t pinpoint it. I setup a call with our isp and looked at network saturation during 3pm. We found the source of the bandwidth saturation within their infrastructure. It timed perfectly with kids getting out of school, coming home and immediately jumping online to play games, streaming YouTube, Netflix, Pandora HD, etc. This remote site didn’t have the budget for a business level network connection and had to settle for residential network service.
Also, don’t use the built in apps in your SmartTV. Those built in apps are garbage. Disable the network connection on your SmartTV so it’s not taking up extra bandwidth.
What, are you kids using AOL dialup or something?
this is like the 10th thread on this over the last 3 weeks.
…as usual, viewers with real ISPs and proper routers have no issues.
Fun fact- the routers that Comcast, Cox, and ATT supply to you are re-built by prisoners in a work training program….
Peacock app on my LG TV, heats streamed mine, 250 LCQ, then starting with the 450 LCQ and the 250 main started freezing. My TV is WiFi, but I stream all the time with no issues. And like others pointed out the commercials did not freeze, but the 250 main was freezing about every 30 seconds.
Went to my desktop, Windows 10, Firefox browser, stream ran great. Zero issues.
My ISP is gigabit fiber.
It's not always user error. Sometimes it's shit code and shit apps and shit technology.
I have had the “Event Concluded” issue a few times. It comes back a few minutes later.
Works great for me every time. Sounds like operator error and Fred Flinstone wi-fi.
I did contradict myself lol. But what I meant was that I know you only get out what you put in. Why does everything else i watch on it come in crystal clear? Even other 1080 stuff is perfect.
btw, it’s only been the last 2 rounds that looked like shit, Oakland being the worst. 🤷♂️
I got that too. I closed it then opened it back up and rewound a little to where I was. It froze again after that towards the end of the main. I closed it then opened the app back up but this time the race was over so I couldn’t open the race. Had to wait an hour til they opened it again
Unless you have your own dedicated network I don't want to hear it. Saying this worked before on this or that is not gonna' cut it.
I’ve had peacock since the first year they streamed SX on it and have had zero issues ever. Pretty shocking really.
Pit Row
That used to happen all the time way back when, going back to the beginning of Peacock before I had whole house. The provided/rented one from the cable company was all done by the time it was connected to a cell phone, TV and laptop if you where more than 25ft. It happens when the server times out because of your wi-fi lag and tries to reconnect.
I UNDERSTAND you will still have a good signal. The CPU of the router just cant process the packets.
I did notice a drop in pic quality last night. My routine is to hard reboot the router/modem every week. Make sure peacock is closed then restart before race and updated. No issues. 200 mgb service. 4k firestick thru receiver to 4k projector.
It happens to me every single race. When the 450 main comes on, the screen gets blurry. Then it cuts out intermittently, then it freezes. The only uninterrupted 450 main I've seen this year is the one I saw in person.
No problems at all until the 450 main. It is not user error.
Not trying to be a dic but any additional devices connecting around 450 main time?
All you Tech guys if you know it all answer this why does the supercross LOCK UP only during the mains while watching it live ???
Last week, went to a friends house across the street to watch and stream/app was constantly glitching and having to start it back up and continued to freeze and start back up. Got tired of it and went back home and my stream worked flawlessly. Difference being, he had a standard cheap wireless router from Centurylink on a 10mb connection. We have deco mesh routers on a 200mb connection.
My guess for the folks having an issue with the stream even though they have a lot of bandwidth is that their wireless router is not up to snuff or the device their streaming to is not cutting the mustard.
If it were peacock, it would be an issue for every subscriber. If it is ISP/equipment related it is an issue for some subscribers. It's not necessarily user error rather user negligence.
Same exact thing here. Kind of strange it doesn't happen until the 450 main every week. A few times I restarted peacock other times I forgot to bother
I went to a friend's house with Spectrum 300 mpbs service and plugged my PC with Peacock via HDMI into his older Vizio non smart TV and zero issues.
Instead of just posting Peacock sucks, people having issues should list their connection to see if there are any common issues among those with problems. Many forget that some cordless phones and almost all microwaves witll interfere with 2.4 connections but not 5 GHz wi fi links. Hard for me to believe with as many people successfully connecting that it is Peacock issues.
What do you still have AOL dialup ??? haha good one . Seriously it is strange that it happens to some at the same time in the broadcast . It's happened to me as well and I don't have any issues with other things on peacock or streaming anything else in general . We stream everything here . I stream tv , youtube , and whatever else sometimes on days I'm home and my wife is doing zoom meetings etc. for work . When the kids still lived here there were 4 people using the wifi simultaneously with no issues . Yet this one strange glitch happens . In any case simply restarting the app solves it every time .
No issues with Peacock ever, whether on the laptop or the TV through the AppleTV app.
Same, peacock app on 2 year old LG tv. It's just a shit app that's needs an update.
My title is CTO and I've setup more networks than probably most in here and written more lines of code than I could count. I have the fastest Comcast package in a major metropolis and 1 year old modem. My kids left when mains were starting so less devices connected to my network, even though it's laughable to think their Xbox or cell phones comected would cause the freezing/buffering that is taking place. But I bet there's more devices connected to the broadcast for the mains...
I've reinstalled the app, factory reset my tv, reset router, even monitored packets. There isn't a setting or configuration that I can manipulate to fix it. I would have if possible.
