They should be a part of every race. A nice unpredictable obstacle as opposed to the practiced to death cookie cutter rhythm sections.
I like it. Race tracks are supposed to be tough & challenging.
As long as they don't start building walls again it's fine.
But, they do make for some awesome shots.
I loved the sand section. Long, rough and deep. It made for some great racing.

Tampa has always had some nasty sand sections. Didn’t they use to put palm trees next to the sand there?
And they are by far the safest obstacle you could put on a SX track. Sorry but the riders that complain can beat it and work on their sandriding skills instead.
I want more of these sand sections (whole lane sections).
More sand!
Yes
Roger will get it removed if a KTM rider doesn't do well in the sand
As stated above, fairly safe. May be challanging and way above my pay grade but at that level makes for good racing from a spectator standpoint.
More sand and more random obstacles that don't flow.
The cookie cutter combinations of whoops, rhythm sections and standard triples have gotten too predictable.
Love the sand! I like how they've added sand where even the top guys are challenged, and it's relatively safe! Reminds me a bit of watching trials where there are obstacles that even the top 2 can't clear.
Exactly. SX has become "gymnastics"....repetitive/practiced to death on cookie cutter practice tracks for the Saturday big show.
When the three podium interviewees (450 class) all say, "hate the sand"....you know they're too conditioned.
Mix it up. Sand is a safe way to do so. Mix up other obstacles too...in such a way it makes things more interesting/difficult but without making it more dangerous. Massive whoops, triples/quads etc are fun....but how much further can we push these guys?
...and then we're bummed when they end up injured and out for the season.
Hunter had the best idea for the sand. He just jumped half of it on the last lap!
Yes, more sand ! Everyone from our camp likes the sand.
Actually I take that back, everyone from our camp likes watching the pros go through the sand
Ocotillo training ground.
As far as im aware there is no hard & fast rule that says a super cross has to be 'jumpy'- its just what we've become accustomed to.
Can you imagine a super cross which was only sand moguls? It'd be really cool as a one off event.
Sand throws “hitting my marks” typical approaches out the window. You could see where elite racers like Hunter and Webb used the changing conditions to their advantage. Hunter even made his own inside/out line during the main.
Thats called Southwick
One of the greats things about Daytona was the sand !
Pit Row
Too much sand and the next thing you see will be #84 signing up to compete.
I think the sand is entertaining.
I would like to see more 'different ' sections occasionally. Maybe a very large mogul section.
Oh…darn
More sand it is!
Count me in as a yes for all the reasons listed above.
I’d love a supercross that is ALL sand…
Love sand sections, but they wrecked it early last night by putting the hump on the inside, so it became a one line corner- the outside.
It wasn’t until the riders deliberately blew the inside out that it began to work.
Was funny to watch the riders fix what Dirtworx screwed up.
Always exciting to see a gnarly sand section on the track map. Keeps it interesting.
Loved the sand section, It was cool to see the different approaches from the riders.
Let’s have a round at the Raiders stadium in Las Vegas…haul in a bunch of sand from the sand dunes in the Mojave….that would be an exciting race.
I concur.
Loved it! Made for some great racing! Tracks overall have been good this year! I hope they can keep it up!
