Ricky Carmichael is the GOAT on a dirtbike, but a Donkey in the booth, and a dodo bird for track design.
Let someone who understands track building do it..... Dreamtrax, Dirt Wurx, Anybody.
Daytona sucks every year. The other speedway tracks are great.
I enjoy watching the Daytona SX each year. It's unique.
Gary?
I downvoted you first.
Gonna play some rocket league. Might down vote you, doesnt really matter

No.
Keep RC, he’s done a great job and he happens to be a moto legend.
Bro, you have 4 posts in here and this is the thread you start?
You think very highly of yourself, don't you?
I think DIS is pretty restrictive on what they can do. But I wouldn’t mind calling up the Professor for a comeback
What’s so bad about the Daytona tracks RC has designed?
Its an identical layout to last year with a few slight changes to rhythm sections, there is photos in another thread.
Daytona is the only SX that does 100% everything them self so that takes things done by Feld off the plate.
Gary Baileys tracks were always brutal tough tracks.
Daytona sucks every year? I think you’re in the minority there bud. I bet RC doesn’t get to design the whole thing im sure they give him guidelines to abide by.
I have thought this same thing for a while, but then I started watching old Daytonas and realized it ISN'T that the track designs are bad, it is that they are too nice, too clean, too perfect. Watch at the 1998 Daytona on Youtube.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEeDSXrcdJY
It looks like punishment to ride that track. Random obstacles, parts of the track were literately just on the grass, no berms, no grooming. Now go rewatch a recent Daytona, the entire track is perfectly groomed. The jumps look identical to the stadium tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YeYCFKFJRw
Modern Daytona tracks obviously get rough but they lack the raw brutal track prep (or lack thereof) from old Daytona.
Doesn't look bad at all..few tight spots but a lot of long rhythms for passing
Way too much RC slander on this forum lately.
Yes it is slander isn’t it! Laughable and bizarre to say Daytona sucks.
Dumbgeon and click....
RC should throw in some telephone poles and add a giant gator pit! 😎
Bring back Gary and race it during the day
Pit Row
RC designed track is fine.
That guy knows more about motocross than everyone on this forum put together with the exception of a few guys like DV12 and a couple other legit top pros.
It’s always different to the rest of the season and that’s a good thing.
Apparently there are heaps of restrictions on what they can use and where they can put it, so all things considered, the tracks are great.
Now if you said bring in a different track designer for one of the other rounds, I’d be all on board with that.
Always thought the speedway races are the best tracks to watch, just wondering why Daytona has the excact same layout as last year. 🤔
If it works, and provides passing and great racing why does the layout need to be so different?
Almost 30 races a year and hundreds of hours testing and practicing and you act like these guys are bored with Daytona having the same layout.
Really?
You meant to say "That guy knows more about how to go fast in motocross than everyone on this forum..." something like that.
While wondering......why the greatest(arguably fastest) has a job?
While wondering why a motorcycle company would hire a guy to develop a bike that had settings no other person on the planet would use.
Knowing just because someone is something or has that title....a lawyer for example, doesn't mean they are very good at it or anything else.
In the early days of vintage racing, Jeff Smith came to our race and laid out the track.......shrug. We did that as 12 yo's. And the tracks looked similar...for example: Jeff Smith helped develop Can-Am's.
Curious why things you don't like need to be canceled?
You are the arbiter?
Your sense of self-importance is just that.
Why don't other folks get to voice their opinions?
We walked the track after the race last year. I have total respect for anyone that rode that track, the jumps and gaps are bigger then they appear and the fact they are taking off and landing in ruts a foot deep or more is amazing. Definitely sitting on the couch watching is misleadi g to the actual track.
I believe it's due to the sprinkler system. They are limited these days on the layout. They have to avoid specific areas of the infield. But damn those jumps are identical though.
Sheesh...speaking of "wondering".
Wondering WTF your blabbering on about.
Not only does he say the same phrases every race it's the same track designs now aswell. Vital licks Ricky's ring but he is shit in the booth. Felt like a bit of a novelty when Daniel called the first five riders after the first few corners last weekend
