We can agree that racing dirt bikes professionally is one the coolest jobs in the world, but we all know the risks. It's tough watching someone as talented as Forkner struggle with injuries as much as he has so early in his career, a lot of his crashes aren't even necessarily his fault either.
Even if you’re a hater you’ve got to feel bad for him, how many times can you climb the recovery mountain?
Maybe he should try world sx.
He might get lucky and last the 2-5 rounds.

I feel really bad for Austin, I´m not a fan but it sucks that it happened once again.
Well Trey Canard was super humble and won 250SX as a rookie against villopoto, he won 250MX and did hell of a recovery against Pourcel, He won 450 SX races....
Not going to say anything about Austin and I have nothing against him nor I´m a hater of any racer, just a fan or not.
But that may be the reason.. don´t compare Forkner with Canard.

Forkner was lined up to the inside of his teammate, but didn’t get the jump at the gate drop and trailed McAdoo down the start straight. His wheel ended up getting tangled with another rider and the impact caused a crash that forced Forkner to sit out the main event. He will be getting further evaluation from his doctors this week to determine if he can line up for Oakland."
Save for the Jett Lawrence incident I would say they mostly are his fault.

The point being made here is he keeps putting himself in these situations instead of living to fight another day.
While Trey Canards injuries were way worse, I am getting the "please stop and don't hurt yourself again" feeling after Austin's latest crash. While I agree if he chopped the throttle he might have been OK, damn that happens so fast it is hard to be sure that was something you can do in such a short amount of time. Can't turn back the clock, need to go forward, but I feel an apprehension the next time he does a start.
Damn he's fast enough he'd be top 3 starting last.
It's happened before - the two that immediately come to mind are Roczen wadding up on the start at Indianapolis many years ago. Ivan Tedesco famously got tangled up with Tapia and had his leg wedged in the rear swingarm and wheel.

Bummer for sure. Not a fan of him but never like to see anyone get hurt. I was at A-1 and got his crash on my phone. It was violent that’s for sure. If he wants to race Oakland this week he’d be better off on a Jetski! It hasn’t stopped raining up here and it’s gonna continue to rain all week and thru the weekend! I don’t know how they are even gonna be able to build the track!
9/10 staying on the throttle is the right thing to do.

I’ve always had the opinion that most of the time if you’re on the gas you have a better chance of saving it.
But if you don’t, you crash harder.

Ping just said on his Anaheim 1 review show "riders meeting" that forkner has a broken hand and knee ligament damage

The old sayin that you make your own luck is so true in Forkners case and he takes it to another level by making his own bad luck by constantly making bad decisions on the track.
