Thought I'd lighten the mood with what I've found to be the second most divisive subject next to politics.
I'm talking about regular mushrooms you buy at the grocery store; white, portobello, shitake, crimini, mushroom soup, mushrooms in omelets, mushrooms and onions with steak, etc.

I like most vegetables but can not eat mushrooms
Love all vegetables, and mushrooms are on the podium of my favorites.
Love both mushrooms and the Magic ones.
Pity but place we went to pick the magics back in the day was a rugby pitch and we got thousands, 3 of us each had a bag when picking. F$kkers have turned that pitch into staff car park now.

My grandpa used to forage Morel mushrooms in season. He'd have 2 or 3 grocery sacks full.
He'd fry up a bunch with steak and eggs for breakfast...gotdamn that was good eatin'.
Just had pizza with mushrooms. Love em....

Like 15 years ago- I went on a holiday to Italy- visiting a few friends I had there.
In the Northern region, Piemonte, my Italian friend took me Mushroom foraging, I did not have a clue and must admit was a little nervous in case we picked something poisionous.
My Friend told me its safe; as his Grandfather taught him all the safe ones. I still was nervous- in case he did not know what he had picked- but that night we arrived back with a few...
Man, he cooked them up with some pasta and it was the best mushroom taste I ever had- flavour was so strong and lovely. Never ever had mushrooms as these tasted with the pasta and garlic- proper wild ones and guess he did know what he was searching for.
Flavour of them was sublime- the ones you buy here are nothing like whatever he found- the flavour was damn super- I never tasted anything as good!

It’s a texture thing for me. Mushrooms feel like nature’s “beyond meat”. It’s not animal, it’s not vegetable, it’s just something weird in between.
If those mushrooms have certain medicinal properties, I’ll eat them happily.
