Question. Does the cases have room for a stroker? Being same stroke as 250cc, but more bore lends less rev-power. Just wondering if going a longer stroke would be good for higher revs/power.
I can’t comment on the cases because I don’t know. What I do know is this bike is incredible the way it is. I hear what your saying about revving but realistically, it doesn’t need it. It makes power for a while in both maps.

We have a customer that picked one up Thursday. Broke it in Friday and was going to race it yesterday. Bike has just under 2 hours. Went to start it yesterday for the moto and it would start and shut off instantly. Checked all the connections, it's getting fuel air and spark so back to the dealer Tuesday morning....
Dealer probably forgot to unlock the ECU.
Happened to a buddy of mine. He drove all the way to Baja and same shit. Ruined his whole trip, lots of money in hotels, entry in Baja race and time off work.
Took it back to dealer and found out they forgot to finish the transfer to new owner. He was livid !!

Are Jarvis and Billy Bolt gonna run the 300 this season?
Right now Jarvis is running a TSP TBi set up. He’ll run whatever bike Husky releases for 24 with TSP parts. Whatever they run it will need to be street legal.

My powerparts Mx skid plate came in… picked it up & figured this should be quick install…. Good lord! WTF the rear mounts holes are impossible to line up for the bolts to start… tried every configuration I could come up with… ended up using different rear mount washers, did not want to strip out the frame threads… I used 2 chain slider washers, gave me more wiggle room to start threading the bolts in… maybe after it gets pounded a bit I will be able to use the special washers the plate came with… 1hr later I” m done…😂

Yes it is tight. Tightening things up bit at a time and a little heat from the hair dryer and I was done in 15 minutes.

Finally got some time on my 250xc, Gobbler getter national enduro in Alabama yesterday. Bike ran great all day long, no complaints whatsoever. Thing lugs like an old school 300, looking forward to more seat time!

I just got my 250XC on Saturday. Broke it in riding a team Hare Scramble. Compared to my 2022 250 XC TPI, its a LOT different. It sounds mean too!

have you tried installing your skidplate yet. Ordering one too. maybe a step by step install for everyone.

On my rockstar that skid plate was annoying, but it eventually got easier. I would always do the back two bolts loosely, then push the front of the plate up for the top two.

I haven't yet. When I do, I'll give the DB97 method a shot.

Just picked my son up the new 125. I'm seeing tons of guys getting their 300's but very few have the 125 yet. Just wondering if anyone is noticing a bog or cutting out at the top of the revs on the bigger bores? Obviously they're not revved out quite as much as the 125's but worth asking.

The 125 is awesome in every way except it cuts out bad at the top of the rev range (to a point it's unsafe to hit jumps). Seemed like a powervalve issue at first. All the way from idle thru mid range it sounds great, then right as you should be getting into the powerband she just signs off and starts sputtering. Tried to reset the powervalve limits using the little "wake up" tool that came with it. That seemed to clean it up a tad but it's still there.

Have a call in to KTM already but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like it on the new bikes.
I picked up the TC125 Oct 22nd.. first ride I had it cut out a few times in high rpm. Both times I was stretching out the gear for a jump instead of shifting right before the take off. Scared the shit out of me when it bogged.

I have it on the rich map now and after 2+ hours on the bike it seems to have calmed down. But if it persists something will have to be done. Fuel, ignition?

I’m pretty sure the new tbi 250/300 have a rev limiter, I assume the 125 does as well. Is it possible you are simply hitting the rev limiter at the high RPM’s?

The carbed tc125 has a rev limiter so it would make sense the fuel injected one does too.

If anyone is looking for a 300sx, motorcycle mall in new jersey, has a few. I called today for a price and the salesman asked if I wanted to put a deposit on one before he even told me the price🤦🏻‍♂️. They are asking $12000 otd..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣. They seem like the kind of place that adds a bunch of bs to their prices and must be why they have so many bikes available. Bunch of clowns

I paid 12k OTD for my Honda in January... And that was a "deal". Every other shop wanted 14+.

I know the market isn't the same as it was 10 months ago, but I still don't see 12k as all that outlandish, especially for this model.

Yea i hear ya man! I should have said as well that I wasnt paying sales tax for the $12k cuz im a out of state buyer, so in that case a resident of the state would pay even more. I also called a big dealer in conn. yesterday who had a bunch of 300sx coming. They were charging msrp, a doc fee and a surcharge... would have been otd for a little more than $10k. The salesman Offered to put me on the list and emphasized they werent up charging these bikes.

I really wish someone would post current ride/reviews for the 300sx. Im on the fence of trying one or finally trying a 350sxf, but I just dont know what direction to go in until I hear some reviews. Im a 4 stroke guy at heart, but i had a lot of fun on my 15 250sx which always made me curious as to how these new generation 250sx/300sx feel. I did spend some time trying to slow down my 250sx and it sounds like this 300 might not be so abrupt.

My 300sx was 10,138.00 OTD.

I have about 1.5hrs on mine. I already know that I like it more than my 2021 350sxf.

Mikie - Funny you say that about the map. On the mellower map it cuts out really bad. On the more aggressive one, it still does it but not as bad. The bike actually sounds like a poorly jetted carb'd bike. Lower all the way through mid range of the revs sounds fine. As soon as it hits the upper range it starts spitting and sputtering like you have the choke on or something. As soon as you let off of the throttle it immediately returns to running perfectly.

It's for sure not the rev limiter. That was my first response when my son first brought it to my attention but after listening to it, for sure that's not it. Actually I found a video of a someone revving one out and you can hear it bouncing off the limiter. Ours sounds more like a bike that sat idling and has loaded up with gas and then you start revving it and it just sounds like shit until you clear the carb out. It just never clears out though.

lol So i was telling someone it almost sounds like a powervalve issue. Then i saw the little wake up connector in the bag and read in the manual how to calibrate the powervavle. So i got all excited thinking i had solved the problem. Taught it and still the same thing...

Genuinely appreciate the comment though!

Just a shot in the dark here but… roll your throttle forward & listen to see if the cold start button pops open or off…...are you getting an error code?

The 125 has a rich and lean map whereas the other bikes have normal and aggressive. The pressure sensor and fuel you are using will have the biggest effect on the fueling. Tps might be off too.

Update on my buddies 300sx:

Loves the chassis and suspension, but after 2nd ride bike has been back at the dealer. It’s got either an electrical or fuel delivery issue. Around like 7000rpm range it starts running like spark is being cut out. It almost bit him on a couple jumps so dealer is trying to figure it out.

Nothing is coming back as an issue, everything tested is good and working as it should. Issue was replicated on dyno and isn’t the “rev limiter”. KTM doesn’t have a bulletin on it but the dealer sold 2 300sx’s and both are back for the same reason

I think you just nailed it. Literally just got off the phone with the dealer and they finally got with KTM. KTM guy said he's seen one other bike with that was what i described and it was the TPS They told me to bring in tomorrow and they will knock it out while i wait.

I'll keep folks posted on the outcome just in case anyone else comes across it. I know this is a thread about the 300's so appreciate all the help.

Thanks man. I did read that. Mine seems to be something different. It seems like the metal dust caps are pushing the inner sleeve back and forth causing the side to side movement. I'll see if I can figure out how to upload a video that shows the play.

edited, here it is:

That Looks normal to me, just to be clear: the bearing sleeve inside the bearing has side to side movement correct? The bearing should be tight inside the knuckle , once shock is installed into the linkage, the movement should be minimal…
Agree, this is normal. There is side to side play in linkage knuckle in swingarm also. Don't try to schim it away. Makes suspension work like shit.

Sounds like what our 125 is doing. KTM is telling us it's the TPS. It's not throwing a code or anything. It's for sure not just bouncing off the rev limiter either/ I sent them a video of my son doing a start and you could hear it really good. Right as the revs came to a certain point it just started cutting out.

KTM first confirmed that i had taught the power valve using the provided plug. Then said he's almost positive its the TPS. Taking it to dealer tomorrow so will confirm if it solves it.

I’d try a fresh BR8EIX gapped at .8mm

Any chance these issues are related to the wrong premix ratio?
Running 32:1 will lean the bike out.

Hope this gets sorted out before anyone gets hurt

Have you tried to adjust the idle and used the wrong knob? I did that to mine and threw off the TPS
