We had a private ride day at Washougal yesterday. Just 5 of us plus the Huffmans. Weather was spectacular, and the track was great. Took the opportunity to shoot a couple photos of recent restorations I've completed. And yes, we rode them both. One session was me on the 05 and my boy on the 79, and it was just bitchin to have him pass me on the outside right before we hit the stepdown at mechanics row.

For the first 15 minutes, my boy was the only one on the track, making his 125sx sing and echo throughout the woods. What a special day. Thanks go to CR92 and Ryan and Brenden Huffman.

BTW, Ryan was absolutely killing the whoops yesterday. Incredible speed. His son Brenden was too, but they used totally different styles. Brenden was tripling through and Ryan was blitzing.

Thanks. They were both total nut-and-bolt restos. We touched every single part, and spent more than they are worth doing it. But for both of us they have a lot of personal, historical meaning and won't ever get sold. They are as close to perfect as I could make them.

They were actually super tiny. Smallest ive ever seen. But they probably built them back up for the triple crown race this weekend.

They usually give us a camera angle from the front of the whoops on TV coming at you. If they put one on the side and went left and Right as they are going by, maybe some more perspective and speed would be shown.

I’m out riding the 77 RD400 today and having a 2 stroke IPA from 54 40 brewing of Washougal.

Maybe one of the guys will post up Ryan going thru them. They were not as big as I’ve seen in the recent past but they are still by no means easy. The 05 RM went thru them well (with my boy on it) but damn they were hard on the 79 RM. That thing is so hard to go fast on. I could 40 years ago but not now.

Lol BOTH of them are!! Wink and thank you. The 79 was a super low hour find (original chain tensioner and guide, impossible to find now) and the 05 is a one-owner bike.

Thanks really go to the Huffman's, and you Mike. Without you the 05' would be in a million pieces and my wife wouldn't have been able to enjoy the RM yesterday.
Track really was awesome. I'll see if I can post your son's first lap through the whoops on the RM. It's probably the slowest he went through them all day though!
