Hunter Lawrence center punching Cooper in Race 2...

Edited Date/Time 9/29/2022 1:59pm
Apparently there's no one talking about this. First lap they were coming up the hill and Lawrence decides not to turn once again like he did to Shimoda at Pala 2. Center punches Cooper off the track as Lawrence fell down. Instant Karma. Just a desperate move by Lawrence to help Australia. I'd like to see the ground view instead of the helicopter shot. That way we can see if it was that bad.

JCoop made mention of it in the pits when he got back, said something to the extent of " Hunta was battling me Hard, HARD HARD" to his crew of people & off the record.

Ever since Mad Hunter has shown up, his result (and racecraft) are in the shtter (as James would say "NINTH AND TENTH??!?!?!).... does he think his career path is being the next barcia or freezeeee? WTF?

they're both distasteful. If you didn't figure that out in the last SX championship where jett was trying to "help hunter" then you're not gonna make it.

If they cant win straight up, mission #2 is win by combat. Terribly unprofessional.

I'm sure there has been tons of pressure on Hunter to live up to the speed and talent of his brother Jett. Jett does what he does (win races) by getting around people without contact, for the very most part...because he has superior racecraft and ability. Hunter is lacking in some of what his brother has...so he has to do his Bam-Bam immitation to do the job. It'll bite him one day.

Jett can’t win straight up is just laughable, c’mon man get outta here with that nonsense lol.

And I’d have to imagine anyone would assist their brother when/if they can…

My brother wanted me to help him install a garage door at his house this weekend and I told him to go fuck himself

Damn, that is funny!

I, too, think Hunter’s goin’ “A Bit Too Barcia” and wether it’s intentional or just trying too hard…
Doesn’t matter.
Jo at Pala.
Justin at The Nations.
We all know what we’re seeing:
One rider goin right at another and hitting him when it IS NOT NEEDED & sure as hell is “uncalled for” at the very least.

Simply put, that shit needs to stop.

Still, I like the Lawrence boys and hope they continue to do well…while racing clean.

2023 is gonna be awesome!

Lets not be too quick to pass judgement here....Hunter has raced clean in the past.

Yes Pala and Jo was a bit aggressive, although it was the last race of the year, battling for 2nd overall in pts.
Redbud MXDN, we need to see a better angle; track was wet and slippery, maybe he didnt see J. Cooper.
Comparing Hunter to Barcia is premature and a huge stretch.

I was standing in that turn and saw it happen. There was definitely some contact but it wasn't a center punch. Hunter ran him in tight at the beginning of the turn and made contact and it sent Justin over the berm and Hunter down on the ground. Aggressive move for sure and probably dumb on Hunter's part. It took him a little while to get up and going again. That outside berm was super loose and sandy. Lots of people fell in that turn this weekend, including Chase while leading the qualifier.

I was standing opposite that hill, so I saw the whole section. Justin and Hunter came out of the right-hander dead even, Hunter on the left side of the track and Justin on the right. Coming into the left-hander, Hunter aimed straight for corner entry on the OUTside (basically turning right coming into a left corner), directly where Justin was. There was no middle line and he wasn’t going to get to the outside before Justin, so it’s pretty obvious what the goal was. I was a huge Hunter fan but two races in a row of brainlessly aggressive hail-Mary “passes” have tempered my feelings a lot.

We don’t need evidence! We just need an angry mob!

Wait. What are we protesting about today?

I don't believe he's a dirty rider in any sense, but I do think he's making mistakes causing these incidents and/or being over ambitious.

Coming from being a big fan of his (because it's great to have Aussies to root for in this series again), the most disappointed I've been in Hunter, was his reaction to Styles Robertson with the way he mentally exploded and even rejected an apology from Styles. Styles owned the mistake but Hunter went full Prima Donna which left me SMFH.

Since that day for me IMO he has no leg to stand on with making contact with riders...still a fan but he needs to wake up a bit because he is undoing all the goodwill he has built up over the years and I think that's the reason for some of the pitchforks he has on these forums now.

This is a fucken classic!
You seem so sure of what happened why do you need a better angle?

Lawrence boys are kind of shady. Jett was out of control when he cross jumped Forkner in sx and ended his season. Then after the race they’re like “Aww my bad mate let’s put another shrimp on the barbie durrr”

I have a cell phone video from across the valley on my Instagram video 5 on the slide.

It wasn’t a T bone, they were side by side. Agressive yes, dirty no. He ruined his own race.

If there's no one talking about it, maybe because it's not that big of an issue?
