That would be the logical choice, but in this day and age people crave attention and look at me.

When was the last time the 250 champ waxed the top 450 guys in a race? Sexton ran away from Tomac all outdoors - and Jett gapped him like he was standing still

Jago Geerts didn’t even win a championship, but won the MX1 qualifier and got a close second to Tomac in the first moto. Individual results at this single race mean nothing. Sexton and Tomac beat Ferrandis by a minute all summer long. Is Ferrandis now better than Eli and Chase? These discussions are pointless.

I will be surprised if Jettson does not end up winning multiple 450 championships, but he hasn't done jack yet!

450 class is full of 250 wonder boys. Jett has earned himself a seat with the big dogs next summer, but he has to go out now and prove he's the alpha big dog.

No way Sexton was pushing the pace at Redbud. It was a team race and all the USA riders had their ego's well in check as they worked together for USA

They were riding with different game plans ...Sexton and Team USA had to ride conservative with a lead to protect, Jett had to hang it out and make up positions

Oh fuck me, what's with this constant "he hasn't done jack yet" or "pump the brakes on Jett"? From pretty much the start it's been obvious that Jett is damn special on a bike. Yet even after he gets the best result on the worlds biggest stage straight up against most of the world's best riders, and his first time racing a 450, people gotta act like it's too early to call him what he is. How many races has Sexton crashed in this year SX and outdoors? How many races has Jett crashed in? Jett has won in every conceivable way and made it look easy. He just had the best result of the weekend and made it look easy. Someone mentioned in another thread that Jett hasn't been passed after the opening lap of a race in something like 75 races, including SX. Sexton is amazing, so is Tomac, so is Jett. But the only one of them with three titles and a MXON overall win by the age of 19 year and 1 month is Jett, so give the kid credit where credit is due.

Jett has the chance to be the best to ever ride a dirtbike. Not saying he will, but he is on that road. Downvote me.

We would hope that Sexton wasn't pushing because Jett dropped him like an anchor.

Eh?

Tomac spotted Chase 24 points to start, won 6 more motos, 1 more overall, in his moto wins passed Chase more often than visa versa and also won the championship.

How was Chase faster?

I mean, he has won 1/2 the championships he's entered thus far, with race-craft far beyond his age and just showed he's got world beating speed in his big bike debut.

Given health he's likely gonna be an all-timer.

He said in the interview that he wasn’t and he was focused on bringing it home safely. He literally said he had more in the tank IIRC.

I gotta agree with the basic notion that this single race isn’t a real indicator of much individually, otherwise Coldenhoff would have a couple of World Championships (individual, not MXdN) on his mantle.

Great ride by Jett, but my guess is that if the roles were reversed and the US needed to catch up in the 3rd moto, both Tomac and Sexton would have been a bit more motivated to get to the front.

How did Sexton and Tomac beat Ferrandis by a minute all summer long? DF was parked up for most of it.

I just think it is cool to watch guys at the end of their career and guys and the beginning and everywhere in between go to battle on a motocross track and do things on a dirt bike I didn’t know were possible.

Jett also literally said he had more pace if he didn't have to toss the goggles.

I am a fan of Jett's optimism and dominance from his leap in 2021, but the trend seems be dying. The new star in the 250 after Jett moves to 450 is Dangerboy deegan fr sure.

I’m well aware. And how did he compare when he was there? All of a sudden he’s found his old speed a few weeks after more time off from injury? I doubt it.

He literally said in his interveiw. 1st moto he rode tight and jett beat him straight up.
2nd moto he said he rode reserved and could have possibly won but to make the pass he would have had to ride over 100% and didn't want to take that risk.

1st moto I believe was straight up as at that time they still needed the results.

Regardless of tactics and a one off race, Jett was immediately on Sexton's pace at the Honda test track. Whistling

Here's the thing. The US has been fighting to bring back home the Des Nations trophy for a while now and looking ahead they will be fighting to win their own series trophy with Dylan and Jett in the mix...the burden is on Sexton to stop them.

The struggle is about to get real boys.
