Regardless, Shimoda’s recovery and second moto performance sent his stock a little higher. From having to audition for Mitch to being THE guy on Pro Circuit. A fan and team favorite, Jo’s gotta be proud of his 2022 results.

Shimoda catches a bump at the top of the hill, , and goes off to the right slightly, as Hunter gets a good run over the top, and goes for the gap that at that point is half the track wide.

As Shimoda gathers it up he races back to the inside to cover off the line but at that point, Hunter has already committed, and is also going downhill , at rate, he cant just back out of it , because he is already there and Shimoda comes across and shuts the door .

Racing incident at best ,and if not, Shimoda has to shoulder some blame, as he made the mistake and open the door.

And i am a Shimoda fan, but he should have let it go , maybe had he not realised he was so close, he might have not risked the contact.

And if Hunter hadnt have gone for it , he may as well not line up for the race.

"And if Hunter hadnt have gone for it , he may as well not line up for the race."

^^^^^ THIS. All day long.

It’s racing…. But If I were Jo, we are no longer “friends” and payback is required….

What do you think about judging these passes on whether or not the pass could be completed without someone being on the ground? Sometimes, a block pass goes wrong because the rider being passed doesn't react to the block when they could, If they go down I have no problem, if the passing rider is taken out because the rider blasts into them, that is on the rider being passed. I think contact is fine until it isn't kinda like porno "you know it when you see it". I don't think this could end anyway but by having one if not both riders on the ground.

Shimoda needs to put one of those boys on the ground. If not, he's s going to get run over his whole career. Jetts stuffed him many times already in sx.

A T bone indicates a perpendicular hit or at least close to it. That’s not what happened yesterday. I don’t care if is 2022, 1965, or 1999. It’s Like when a guy is at the apex of turn and you come straight into the side of him.

Pretend it was Shimoda on the inside, Jett and on the outside. Jett goes down and gets hurt (which coulda happened to Shimoda) , then Shimoda outraces Hunter and is National champ. I’m fine with that. Instead he raced Jett clean and got cleaned out by Hunter, bad choice IMO.

young men racing in the big league. bothers me more that jett would let his brother get an undeserved win to help him beat their supposed friend.

dude it was spicy as shit and you can tell by huntahs body language he knows it was. All this “his hand came off” excuses are just that excuses. He ran down some one, that was a friend , that has raced him cleanly all season as he unraveled under the pressure from his little brother who admitted would let him “buy” to gain points on his friend “sushi”. Huntah acted like a child a few weeks ago and now they both do this… lost a ton of respect for him. I hope Sushi becomes a Ninja and remembers this and reacts in kind the next time they are on the track. Go eat some donuts!
Totally agree. H Lawrence - bitch move. Hope Joe evens the score.

I love Jo and am glad he ended up winning the second moto and took second overall to Jett on the year, but a lot of money was on the line for second place in the series and it was the last round of the year. Way more justifiable in my mind given what was at stake and that this was Hunter’s best shot at it. Yeah he took Jo out but it wasn’t like he tried to break his leg. If you can’t knock a guy down at the second to last moto of the year for second place in the points when can you? Only for the title?

It looked like to me that Hunter some what lost his grip a bit on the bike and couldn't get it slowed down. I don't think he meant to hit Jo that hard. Just my opinion.
Mostly agree.

It was a rough corner, but it wasn’t anything like a complete takeout.

Things happen fast and sometimes you react differently than you would normally want to. I think Hunter thought he would get to the spot first and made a mistake when he realized he wasn’t.

Unless this becomes a recurring theme like Barcia, I think he gets the benefit of the doubt.

So glad to finally see people realizing that the buddy-buddy act that Jett & Hunter take part in is immature and cheap.

There’s more to those Lawrence brothers than meets the eye. And it’s not all good. You’ll see.
They got zillions of fans they don’t need me.

Yeah I've watched it a fair few times now and Hunter did come from a long way back...pretty ambitious move but more of a racing incident for me as I doubt he deliberately took Joe down...but he also probably wasn't disappointed that he did.

Does Joe owe him one? Probably does.
Will he pay him back? Probably not.

Actually, if you watch it back whether you think it was justified or not, it was a T-Bone. A T-Bome is when a rider hits another rider with his front tire. Hunter threw his elbow up and rammed Jo’s bike with his front tire. In most of the Barcia altercations, he pushes riders off the track with the side of his bike by putting his bike right where their front tire will be.
Incorrect sir. A T Bone is when the riders make contact at a perpendicular angle
In racing, a truly perpendicular collision is almost unheard of, so ramming a rider with your front tire is about as close as you’re gonna get.
You must have just started watching MX 3 weeks ago.

It was definitely an accident of hunter charging too hard down the hill. That wasn’t a t-bone and that turn isn’t a section on the track you would try to run it in on someone. Not sure what was going through hunters head, he couldn’t make the rut even after hitting jo and went over it. The fact hunter rode out of it was more luck then skill.

Hunter completely used up Jo in that corner. Then Jo smoked the field in moto 2. Jo came out on top and learned what to expect from HL in the future.

I've been hit harder than that by a buddy that rode to the track with me. He blamed his brakes... Of course, turn about is fair play.

Failed to yield? Are you serious?
You need your nanny to change your diaper right about now.

I am the nanny . Sorry that Hunters non-issue pass was too much of an issue for you. I can change my own diaper but you sir are clearly running a dirty tampon. I recommend the Maxima brand next time

You couldn't be my daddy. He fought in the Pacific during WW2 and passed in 2015. My mom? She was a WAVE in WW2. She passed in 2018.

Pretty much doubt you or your family ever gave so much to this country as my ma and pa. Me too. 35 years, 2 months and 26 days.
