Kenny’s problem isn’t the bike. It’s between the ears. Part of me thinks he’s struggling with the fact that he’s not “the guy” anymore. His career is winding down no doubt but I think it’s time for a change or time to hang it up.

Even if he doesn't get on with the bike, which is fair enough and I can understand that at the level he's at, I doubt Honda like hearing the thing thrown under the bus week after week, it's not a 97 CR250... especially while Sexton and Gajser (less comparable I know) and even the Lawrence's (yep, even less comparable being 250's) seem to do just fine on similar platforms.

I bet it's super frustrating for Kenny, clearly having the speed and skill but being battered over the years to the point you can't maintain your talent over race distance, but at the end of the day this situation isn't a good look for either party. Got to be a change of some kind due.

When he left KTM he slagged off the bikes, he just has to have an excuse for everything. Can’t stand the guy

Kenny is very talented ! IMO he does not train enough. He goes fast for one lap then slows down while he works his way backwards. That is plain and simple fitness. Eli does the opposite because his fitness is great. Kenny did have some issues with injuries so there is that but he has never been the fittest strongest guy he just always relied on his raw talent. Dungey's strength is his work ethic. Fit and strong. Kenny did not like the Baker factory , too much training. If he somehow changed his ways and did more fitness training he would last much longer in every moto. BUT yes Jet is moving to 450 next year - Chase it killing it - Where is 1 lap wonder Mr I have bike issues going to go ?

He was so good on that Suzuki. But the new generation Suzuki won’t cut it

How do you know he dosen’t train hard? Remember is health is exactly perfect with lingering effects of the lime and all the shot his body has been through. It can only take so much.

KR should look at how Kevin Windham managed his racing the last few years of his career. KR has everything he needs to become a leader of the vet pro world, he could easily be the most popular rider in the 450 class while getting 5th place instead of being the moto Karen every week...

Unless KR changes his attitude, he’s going to be less and less marketable every year..

Don’t forget Sexton wasn’t happy with the Honda in SX either.
Personally I like it when riders aren’t scared to say what they’re thinking or feeling.

If Kenny doesn't like that beautiful Honda then he should just stick to his roots and go back to riding the best bike out there... ...

I've seen the last picture a lot actually but I just now realised that it looks like Tomac is crying behind Kennys back haha, hilarious!

For whatever reason (it does not matter what it is) Kenny is just not in good enough shape to go full out the whole moto for a full season. When you don't win you have to blame the bike right???

Why is that so hard for so many to see or admit? I would say the same is true of Tomac right now when compared to Chase. I think Eli was tired the second moto at Budds.

Chase seems like he is still strong and Eli is just not the guy he was earlier in the year in the second moto. Long season. Age will do that. You can't go full out when you are tired.

At least he should win that two race world championship. He'd better.
What I hate is that 3 race world title will say FIM World Supercross Champion.so everyone that doesn’t know better will think he won the supercross series here because it’s going be the same looking champion plate that we have handed out the last 10 years with the FIM in our series over here

i tend to agree with you. i do not think it is the bike but rather rider fatigue....

The frustrating thing is he's still so good. Amazing to watch on the bike. He gives everyone a show in practice more than anyone in the field. He can still show that insane sprint speed. He just goes backwards. I'm not even a Roczen fan. I'm just a fan of how bad these dudes are

I think it’s a combination of mental struggles from the crashes and side effects of all those surgeries to fix the injuries he sustained. Kenny is a world class rider that had to change his style completely due to his arms and after nearly losing both of them in two seperate crashes in two years is something that f’s with your head.

Also keep in mind that he is pro since 2009. So that is his 14th season (!). Same goes for Tomac, Anderson, Herlings, Musquin, Barcia.. they’re in the game for a long time.

I don’t think we will see an on top Roczen again. However I hope he proves us wrong just like Tomac did this year.

First off I want to say Kenny is an amazing talent but he’s had a pattern of blaming the bike/health when he can’t perform. His health issues in the past may have been legitimate but I can’t remember ever hearing or reading Kenny put the blame on himself..

Eli's last laptime didnt seem to show that he was tired.

Its normal for kenny to complain about the bike. He did the same thing at hrc. This is nothing new and at some point he needs to just adapt.

IMO.... Kenny is riding like a guy that has another ride lined up, and simply does not want to get hurt under any circumstances... Kenny has some big $$$ lined up for WSX and lets face it, his days at the top here are pretty much over... IMO that's why we are seeing him 5-10th...

Kenny's contracts to race in the US have been millions higher than what's rumored to be his WSX deal.

Now that being said he is going to probably take a massive pay cut next year.

He will ride a Zook again ends up his career a twisted tea. He'll come to A1 press conference in a twisted tea golf caddy, twisted tea sneakers and 30 dollars twisted tea watch and whining about his twisted tea zook bike at the twisted tea Weege show.

It's baffling why a multi-time national and world champion doesn't turn to anonymous jackbags on teh interwebz for the solution to his struggles.

I have no clue why he trusts his experience and success, over the clear experts online.

Because everybody knows that there has never been a race bike in history that doesn't work with one rider's style. Ever.

He's clearly just a weakling and a quitter...

Somehow, seeing Kenny on a Yamaha is impossible for me to even imagine?
A bulldog like Tomac kinda fits on that bike, but a finesse rider like Kenny?

I would guess its about freedom to try his own setups and get his suspension guy back that he was using many years. Pretty sure Honda is not happy with all things Kenny wants to try. Anyway seems impossible him to get Yamaha contract as long as DV and Tomac are in team?

All his complaints of the bike being difficult to handle from track to track and being unstable

The Yamaha is known to be better at that...

It would fit him. He rides the bike gently and they can tailor that to him.
