Just two organisations in a pissing contest. Neither of them are true global championships.

I've always had a chuckle at Americans with their "World" series/championships etc in various sports like MLB, NFL. Ridiculous, you can't have a world championship without representation from the best around the globe, and really there should be multiple global venues. Possibly the most comical is the NBA calling their winners world champions because its in the name. It's the NATIONAL Basketball Association, not the WORLD Basketball Association!...

The same goes for the FIM, it's not a world championship if you don't have US riders and venues.

But I'm sure their respective lawyers will laugh all the way to bank as their cease and desist billables stack up.

Pipe down, Francis. I care even less about your WSX series than I do about MXGP. (Which is fading every day, in fact.)

The NBA, MLB both have wide "representation from the best around the globe"...

Very weird article.

"No other sanctioned world championship exists in the sport of supercross, and no winner of any other competition will be acknowledged as “world champion” by the FIM."

Well no shit, there is no super bowl champion acknowledged by the FIM either, because its not their events. Dang FIM trying to act like they own the entire sport of dirt bikes and who can claim what. Move along FIM, we're all happy to see you out of the US series.

They should call it the FIM bush league world supercross series or the FIM Vet supercross series with some of the riders they’re having to sign to it

“By the FIM” is the key word. The FIM says they are in charge, so you have to do what they say.

In reality their title only holds weight if the manufacturers that pay the rider salaries say it holds weight.

Here’s what I just read:

“We would, again, like to reiterate that the WSX is THE one and only world championship. It’s the best championship of all the championships guys, trust us. Where else will you see the sport’s current top riders compete, such as Cole Seely and Josh Hill?”

lol

The FIM jumped the shark years ago.

Both governing bodies are acting like children. Even though I still say the true World Supercross Championship is the AMA Supercross Championship because we do it best and have been for the longest. FIM is saying "since WE don't hold the events its not legitimate because WE said so." Feld and AMA have nothing to worry about. No one legit will race the WSX series if they keep handing out money like they are. They'll be broke before the inaugural series actually happens.

Long story short a couple, that claimed "World Supercross" as their baby, got a divorce. Now they're both trying to win custody over the series, fans, riders, & sponsors. Even though mAMA has full custody. < see what i did there..

Someone needs to start an organization stateside and declare it the sole arbiter of world championship titles. Actually I don't have much going on this afternoon, maybe I'll start working on a charter. If you have a sports league or series, all you have to do is pay me and I will declare your champion a world champion.

Its going to be really funny when there's 150 entries in each class at AMA Supercross next year because the FIM is such a joke.

What non-American teams from NBA and MLB get to participate in those tournaments?

Yeah cause any of us care about the FIM given their stellar track record with how they handled the drug testing. Get bent FIM nobody wants or needs you for any series.

This was on the cards the minute the FIM parted ways from the AMA SX series.
FIM, " mines bigger than yours".

And this is how you know the FIM feels threatended. The FIM can go fly a kite. The AMA can have its own "world" championship if it wants. I hope the world SX thing bombs

The FIM was more than happy to latch onto the AMA SX Championship and call it a world championship. Now they're butthurt .

Asks question, gets answer, doesn’t like answer 😂

Besides the fact stated above, teams recruit players from all countries.

lUS SX has participants from many countries and is the premier series, making it the true world SX series, not just in name…

Being from the U.K. I used to look forward to MXGP series, haven’t even watched a full race weekend this year.
MXGP are lucky Herlings couldn’t do the ama this year as that would have made mxgp even less relevant

Given Tomac and Sexton battle is a season to remember.
Then looking from Europe,
U.K. can follow Wilson, Anstie Woodcock, Gilbert
France Musquin, DF
Italy AC222
Germany KR
Australia Lawrence brothers

Maybe more I have missed but a lot of Europeans have riders from a country or some1 they follow in AMA. Like I said Herlings would have made it even more popular

And nowadays 2 rounds is enough to be a world championship.

We’re little America here in Canada or Americas little
Brother to the North .
I’m not a fan of the whole world sx series just how they been going on saying they’re attacking our motocross series and don’t care if the outdoor series here fails. I really hope this WSX series fails really seems to be ran by some serious hot heads. All they have is a bunch of vet riders and no factory teams backing it

This reminds me of the Anchorman when Ron and Veronica were fighting who would be the last sign off on the news 🤦🏻
