Must not know me much. Have had 4 surgeries from an injury over 10 years ago on my vocal cords and it is what it is at this point. Not much I can do to “get that shit sorted”. Sorry

Wonder why the Monster edition comes out in October a month before the standard Blue model release in November?

So they can make $200 more for graphics. Since it’ll be the only one available for a while when these things are scarce and have been scarce.

For old weekend warriors stability is the holy grail. Stability means conficence you will be able to go work on monday wich means you ride faster too. Made that mistake once, not anymore.

Never been brand loyal, but have been brand negative… owning a 2010 YZ450 that was all the hype and turned out to be a turd of epic proportions left me turned off on Yami’s until now.

Been on a 21 CRF450, which for me has been a great machine, fun, fast, flickable, race wins, etc., but might be time to switch it up.

Anyone out there thinking of going Yami? If so what would you be coming off of?
I had a 2011 and thought it was a great bike. I definitely thought the '14 I got to replace it was better, but the hate that first gen got was a bit overblown IMO.

Kyle, don't sweat comments like that from internet douchers. Your voice is unmistakable and unique. Just go do what you do. Thanks for the insight on the bike as well.

Well, I don’t like blue, never have, and it is really lacking in terms of graphics. Considering that, I think it will actually be a very nice looking bike once some numbers are applied. Definitely an opportunity for graphics companies to come up with something. If it were only yellow with black and white trim colors…..
The overall shape is look is great though. Time will tell, but they really seem to have evolved this bike in a positive way.

People that bitch about the hydro clutch need to ride a modern YZ 4 stroke. They have such a light crisp clutch pull. I would take YZ 4 stroke cable clutch pull over a KTM hydro any day and I've owned both bikes.

May be interesting to see if that holds up, since the new YZ-F went to a KTM-style clutch.

The feel is the same according to Chiz. But Yamaha was super intelligent and now you can easily place a hydro on it if you like. Honestly, best of both worlds. You can keep your hydro clutch and go to the next years bike as well. In 2012 I bought a Honda 450 and was marveled at how shit the clutch feel was. I bought a Magura hydro clutch and it worked for the bike. But I prefer cable feel

The front fender reminds me of the last gen Rmz fender (08-17).

Ive seen this picture on the left shared 1000 times on social media with people saying “look how narrow they made it”. Real picture is on the right. People are so gullible. Isnt it just 15mm or so different?

One person with a fish eye lens got everyone fooled.

A KTM. I'm looking for a more planted feel out of my front end
Can't you explain more what you mean by that?

As you can see, they acheived this new slim design by squishing the whole bike laterally. Fork tubes are narrower. Even bolt heads are now oval, oriented front to back.

Brilliant engineering from the boys in blue.

Seems no one knows if current parts fit or what are new bike specs. Maybe we have to wait until next month to find out.

I looked over the 23 450 at Pala. From the looks of things and a few quick measurements with my calipers, triple clamps will be the same. They removed the brake line guide as it's now integrated in the plastics, but otherwise the clamps look identical and the fork tubes are the same diameters.

Rear linkage looks identical as well, but that was harder to measure to be certain. The knuckle has been the same for the last 13 years, so it wouldn't be surprising if it is still the same moving forward.

That's all I looked at in any detail, but I would bet a large number of chassis/drivetrain/brake parts are the same as the 22 and previous bikes.

When do you think we’ll see the first media tests of the bike October?

Aren't those 2 different model years? The access cover is different between the 2 bikes. Confused here.
