Mike Alessi forced to 40th gate pick, why?

Several riders mentioned that they were forced to take last gate pick at Lorettas this year. Does anyone know why? I know Mike Alessi mentioned it.

Heard it was due to, too many support people at the gate.

He had a 7:30 moto and the gates were real wet so he turned his bike around backwards in the gate and did 2 short starts to dig it out so he could get better dirt. AMA saw him doing it so they made him move.

As a race director we had 25 late riders to load the gate , , so the 15 that were in time got to pick first then we started at the beginning again

Mike should’ve counter protested. I believe that’s an osha violation having to race or work in slippery conditions. I love LL with there 2 foot secret rule book they pull out on certain riders. I would tell them get that book out of my face, man. I,m not hear to start reading . I,m here to win this sucka.
