Why is Ryan Dungey not being considered for the MXDN 250 spot?

My god what are we discussing here. Whooo cares.

Let’s hire dilla 98’ Reynard to beat everyone in the world.

This isn’t how moto works.

If we could do that, I’d go with 2007 MXoN RV2! One of the greatest rides ever, if not THE greatest.

It should be Barcia for many reasons.

- he has been to the MxDn before - and knows the drill
- he can handle the pressure
- his riding style fits a 250
- will be the talk of the Des Nations to see him out there on the limiter
- might be his last one
That all tracks...

I think Christian's current form and the Star 250 are definitely reasons to consider that way too...

Another silly idea - probably the most rational:
-Sexton and Anderson on 450s. TOMAC ON A STAR 250! I would pay to see that

For the MXDN you need a guy that will go all out balls to the wall checkers or wreckers ride over his head kinda sorta. That’s not Ryan Dungey.

I think peak speed taking into account equipment this might be the fastest combo...

Anderson and Sexton are having their best year and maybe a fraction slower than Eli, but Eli's 250 option bike is def better than the Honda or Kawi 250s...

Ryan is a horrible fit for MX2 and he's not displacing Sexton or Tomac on a 450.

I like the idea of letting Sexton and Tomac in to the decision making process. Who do they want to have on the team with them??? Hey Roger, get them in the conference room with you and work it out!

I want Anderson, but I get that there isn't a 250 out of the factory Kawasaki trucks... Barcia and Craig are the next options. I bet they would pick Craig as a teammate, but there is no denying Barcia's grit and gnarly style.

I just can’t fathom this support for Barcia beyond just being a fan of his. There’s a list of better riders to the point (beyond being a fan fav) he shouldn’t even be considered anymore… like at all.

Hampshire and Robertson had Cooper covered at Redbud this year. Barcia and Anderson finished within a point of each other so it really should be one of those 4.

Idk if I buy the whole "let a 450 guy ride the 250 at MXdN" idea. The art of riding a 250 vs a 450 are two different styles. I would think pick a 250 guy that has been riding a 250 all year. He's got the seat time and testing down, and is in tune with the machine and how it should be ridden to be fast.

I find it ironic that some think a 450 guy wouldn't be as good as a 250 guy on a 250... When most all of the 250 guys do moto's on 450's to improve their speed on a 250.

I will continue to laugh at anyone who says to put Chase on a 250. Did you watch Millville?

1 - You clearly don't understand how the MXON champion is determined

2 - Millville is not Red Bud

Dungey didn’t even ride a 250 at the 2009 MXDN

Is it possible for barcia to ride the 250 two stroke in the mx2 class? There is a age rule that obviously doesn’t apply for mxon. Does the 125 only rule apply?

I am going to throw this out there too. If we want someone with grit, no quit and that probably raises bald eagles in his free time because he is a damn American hero...ZO16. That's right give me some wacko that dude would probably die out there for us to try and bring a win home.

Desperate times for the USA with having to put a 450 rider on the 250….

He was great in Colorado and France. He would be consistent and he is better than Craig and Barcia on 250s and with his testing for the factory was probably riding 250s more recently than either of them outdoors.
