What’s with moto forums being so obsessed with knit picking commentators

You listen to JT on pulp about being nervous and putting a lot of effort in and even Rc makes comments about trying his best.

Then you get on moto forums and it’s literally knit picking about everything.

People that do it, do they not realise them selves are not perfect humans? Do they not have self awareness of them selves ? Because guaranteed a lot of people find you bloody annoying

I hear you. The board lately in general has a negative vibe plus at times it's like the Mean Girls club. Some appear to have short memories of the pandemic's impact on racing. I'm thankful we're back racing full schedules and I choose to focus on the positives.

It has to be exhausting for some of these people on here to watch a race trying to pick apart everything they think is wrong with the broadcast rather than just watch the racing. It's like clockwork on here every Saturday evening.

I don't get it either. All the commentators this year have been great imo. I've really enjoyed having a new commentator each week. JW does a good job of working with all the different personalities. I liked the prior JW/GL team as well. Only thing to complain about is the season is more than half over!

I think a lot of people overlook that they’re racers, dirt bike racers. Yes, they’ve had TV time before doing an interview after a race or giving the sponsors a plug on the podium, but other than that they’re wired to ride. I love that whoever they get on is themselves and their personality comes through. No one’s perfect but they still have a damn good crack!

The forum has grown a bit of a negative vibe about most things, EVEN toward its own people, which is the most shocking.
I won’t say he started it, but GuyB did add to it at times & I suppose that served to let others know that this kind of attitude toward other forum users was ‘ok’.

We’re supposed to be friends. We’re supposed to come here for conversation with like-minded people.
Instead you’re more likely to be mocked for life if you say one single thing ‘out of the box’.. “it’s not WHAT was said, but WHO posted it” what a shitty thing to say..

C’mon guys, chill. Be nice, think positive.

I think every single person who comments negatively about the commentators is either:


-A commentator trying to take over another
-Retarded
-Standard MXGP paid trolls trying to destabilize the AMA series (1 of many shit posts that crew make)



-For example there was nothing wrong with Ralph and Jeff on SX. Nothing what so ever. But the groups above burnt them a the stake until they were gone.

J Mart did do a great job, it was a little funny (in a good way) how he kept going all high pitched when things were getting interesting, it was cool to hear that he was clearly and genuinely psyched on the racing in front of him 👍

Because when a current racer, who is not exactly known for his gift of gab, can come in day 1 and be 100 times more coherent, articulate, and comfortable than the “GOAT” who they force on us every weekend in SX and a lot of outdoors, that proves that maybe the gig isn’t that hard. Maybe some people (like Ricky) just have fucking sucked at it since day 1 and it’s time to get rid of his stuttering ass. I thought Millville was great with Jerm

Remember when they put magic johnson in the booth ??
One of the greatest players of all time.
But was a disaster with words.
Ricky spends way too much time trying to talk just in front of the action.
(If you know what I mean)
And that rushes him faster than his synapses can fire.

J-mart spent his time in the booth relaying the nuances of what just happened.
A much better style of announcing.

Hearing Ricky talk on podcasts, he seems like he has humbled out a lot, has been super gracious, and an all around great guy.

He just isn't very good at commentating. He's trying hard to be better, but that's something that is hard to force your way into being good at. Jmart was awesome today.

Guess I’m just easy to please. I’ve never had an announcer get on my nerves. I really enjoy when the guys announcing are riders/ex-riders with good insight on the track and bike set ups. It’s always fun to hear them pick things apart during the race.

Is Ricky the GOAT of announcers no. Has he tried to improve yes .One time Yankee broadcaster Phil Rizzuto was as different as different could be as an announcer. Yogisms was coined for some of the things Yogi Berra would say. Guess this was all before message boards other wise they would have been needlessly lambasted as well! Opinions shouldnt matter more than respect.

It’s society now guys r negative women not so much or at least not towards me. Guyb always deleted my humor post. Still happens but not as much. I think the Mx commentators r doing a great job. Watch 80,s races now those guys sucked . Haha

We usually see the race at our watering hole, and sound is lower than the music played. They do fine. It ain't nascar where the commentary is better than the racing with the new cars. 😂

I think it says more about the person nitpicking (generally) than it does about the broadcast. If someone is willing to let a few comments overshadow how good things generally are with live coverage (the Mav is a legitimate mess).

Because RC is terrible and his 6th grade education shows. Like I seen him instead of I saw him, no more instead of any more. Broc, David Bailey, Grant, Adam C. Are all way better. Will is way too long winded and always starts the same. I was talking to so and so
