NorCal just needs some time to check his Rocket League, maybe order a pizza or take a nap. Doesn't really matter.

I just wish we could do something to reduce the sitting around at an mx race. If you had an AM and PM session, and knew your class would go sometime in which session it would at least avoid the getting up at 4:30am, 3 laps of practice find out your Moto 14 and getting home at 8pm on a Sunday situation. Biggest advantage of off-road to me is I know I am gonna get there go to a riders meeting, race, and be done.

Not to distract from Bruno smashing homeboys wife.....
mega is the name of the series

sometimes it runs in conjunction with other series that do not offer all of the classes they run for the mega series

My opinion is that the emphasis on Lorrettas is 10x what it used to be and that is adding soooo many more classes.

I think the biggest problem in my area is promoters want to do nothing to change. Promoters don’t ask how they can be better, they just keep on the same path and loose riders to off-road. It’s just nonsense to keep people at the track all day for the amount of laps ridden when people can just go down the street and race a mid-east or an nhcsa for 1/2 the cost and get 4x the seat time.

Some of it even boils down to technology. It is insanity that there isn’t online signup and transponder scoring at all motocross events. When virtually every single off-road event offers transponder scoring and online registration.

That being said I love moto, it’s all I practice, and I wish it was better here in sc. Because if local motocross was in a great spot and racer friendly I would have never started racing in the woods.

Wow, I checked this thread before I walked out the door this morning and all was good…jump back in the van to head home from a shoot and NorCal has had a stage 10 meltdown… I haven’t seen one of those in a while. Account locked, you’ll receive an email later.
Here I thought this discussion would turn into the same old "more laps vs more classes" debate like the old "taste great vs less filling" miller lite ads, but it got so much better.

Man, we were checking off random references you don't expect to see normally in a moto discussion:

Fast times - check
Star Wars - check
raptor 350 atv - check
snowboarding (in July) - check
a guy named bruno - check
humbolt county - check
fat girls - check
alternative lifestyle accusations - check
rock crawling - check
yotas - check

perhaps we can we schedule some kind of "scavenger" hunt for things that get mentioned unexpectedly on a moto board.

Between norcal and pro125 (when he was on the road), it could be a real fun time, especially if you deactivate the search feature so we would have to dig through old posts.

Might be great in the off season.

And 50+ ties for biggest gate which seems common esp here on the west coast. At OTMX Washougal this weekend 50+ Int class was 27, 60+ Int was 25 riders. And there were 12 riders between 70-85 YO including Tara Geiger's old man who hauls ass in 70+ Expert.

No. Just the boredom of riding trails, my Dad made me do that lame shit until he felt I was ready to ride a track. Trails are good to learn how your bike works in turns, hills, etc. But that gets boring real quick. I remember the first time I hit a 90ft double.....it was one of the greatest feelings I ever had.
Cool to know your way of riding is the absolute only way to have fun on a bike.

And 50+ With 31 I,m starting to feel better I had a severe reaction to the last 2 meds. 2 months of antiflamatories knocked me out. The last 2 meds almost killed me. I,m still running getting stuff together. Van In shop this morning for the 5th time. I said I got the broken bolt out of the thermostat. He said it would b 13 hrs it took me 5 min. He said you hv to pull the intake . All you do is weld on top of the bolt and use a doo Hicky thing. He acts weird and says next week I can get you in. I was supposed to b repaired 2 weeks ago wed. He buys junk then put his junk as a priority in front of others. I called another shop this guy is a real mechanic. Ovr 2 months of screwing around with 2 shops total lazy idiots. This takes time away from working on bikes etc. I never had so many problems with a personal vehicle. It’s driving me nuts. I even told the shops I worked months straight working 20-29 hrs up to 39 . And now it’s time to race I hv to be repaired by Memorial Day weekend. Shops can’t figure out the simplest repair. Rain here is nearly everyday working on bikes in it isn’t that fun. Anyway I
,m trying to get racing. Working on bikes and vehicles as fast as I can. And getting alot done. It will be a miracle when I get to a race. I don’t even care anymore about winning I just want to get there. Ps I think local racing is where it’s at.

This is a pretty piss poor example. It was a complete mud fest at muddy creek this weekend and a lot of people left or didn’t go after seeing the weather and knowing how bad it’s going to be. Local racing in the south right now is the best I’ve seen it since I started racing in 98. The TMXA series which is pretty much the smallest local series we have in TN has had multiple races this year with over 40 riders in the PW class one race had 52 entries. The king of the mountain series opener at Mclarty mx in Alabama had over 700 entries for a local race. I think the sport is doing okay. Muddy creek always has great turnouts when the weather is good.
This. It was calling for rain all week for both days. They canceled practice on Friday too. That was a low turnout because of weather.

Lets not forget LTM had over 1000 riders for the weekend likely around 850 for the 1 day race. they promote. they have a great local series, and don't just do a qualifier and practices.

it shows what can be down with the right game plan.

carry on.

I agree completely that pro125 is a pure and unblemished moto brother and don't mean anything bad.

But dang, when he was typing on no sleep, following his conversation was like watching a pinball.

Cr 125 - Boing

Ukrainian chick - ding ding

Pipeline work - pop!

Driving through a,dark Detroit - ding ding

Picking up chick's on a beach - thump thump

I am looking forward to the day soon when he can get that cr 125 finished and hauled to track in the lemon van and give us a full race report, from waking up, to the drive there, parking, sign up and finally when he makes that honda sing like meatloaf.

I only wish we could do a vital meet up and have a cheering section.

And location Ltm should pull riders from IL., in., ky, and Mo. I like local races for many reason . There more unique and better tracks than the nationals. A lot rougher, creative designs, seeing what a family is capable of,the food, the rare bungee start, local folks for spectators, camping is cheap, old equipment working the track, raising money for a fire department, etc. really good loamy dirt. Take the whole expience in. I think where lucky to hv local racing.

Very true.
LTM always has huge turnouts. Usually 700 to 800 plus entries.
Riders are actually starting to complain he has too many, I guess it's a good problem to have.
But it does make for a very long day and they cut the 2nd moto's down to 3 laps. Not good.

Tim the owner is a victim of his own success. Crazy situation

The sport is definitely not ok. Anyone see turnout at Chillitown Classic this weekend? That place is normally PACKED for a regular race, it should have been off the chains for this AMA Featured Event...and it was CRICKETS. If Muddy Creek and Southern Ohio aren't getting entries, then the East Coast is definitely hurting.

GNCC entries are WAYYYYY down from last year. Gas prices and overall living expenses are killing us.

Let's hope most of these moto companies can weather the storm.
It's several things. 4 strokes suck, they cost too much to repair, and now we have a bunch of vaginas afraid to race an mx track...
It's several things. 4 strokes suck, they cost too much to repair, and now we have a bunch of vaginas afraid to race an mx track. They feel safer doing some lame GNCC race because they are afraid of what the sport was built on. Yeah I'm talking to you Sandtrack315.
I’d love to see you race a three hour gncc. Far from lame ass. Hell the last five years a good share of the afternoon races were decided by a few seconds. Same with enduros. Race all day and it’s still that close. Pretty crazy.

Time to step away from the keyboard my man
Typical wanna be tough nuts Philly guy. Must suck to play second fiddle in Pennsylvania to the great city of Pittsburgh.
Felt I needed to come here and let you guys know that NorCal is NOT from Pittsburgh--- It took a lot of time, but I asked all 1.7 million people in the Pittsburgh and surrounding area and not a SINGLE person admits to knowing him.

I'm telling ya, the kind of shit he was spewing there should be worthy of a lifetime ban.

And B, also. In the PNW we are lucky to see 5 B riders at anything but a regional race. Most stay in C until they are kicked out then quit when they can't run the B pace.......or jump to A and become $$ donors to the local faster guys.....

I think it’s mainly that you can’t run Rotella in the electrics that is giving people the most anxiety about the switch
